now how about a room only discount????

I desperately need a AP RO discount. My dates are 12/21 - 12/26. There is usually an AP discount through the 24th or 25th so I am kind of counting on that. If not I don't think we will be making the trip this year as I refuse to stay at a value for Christmas.

I think the reason the dining thread overcomes the RO thread is dining at Disney has become ridiculously expensive. When three people eat a Christmas Eve dinner and it costs over $200.00 at the Wave, without drinks or any of the most expensive meals, it tips the budget way off. We have done the DDP and not done it. If we have ressies at the more expensive restaurants it pays for us to do it but when we really don't have ressies at the better restaurants we don't bother.

will the annual pass discount be posted the same time as room only discount??

Joining the conversation. :wave2:

We booked our trip based on historical dates for FD... sure came around to bite me in the patoots! :lmao:

Our dates are September 27 - October 1. Right SMACK dab between the end of late summer FD and beginning of fall FD.

Our trip can't be changed so now I'm hoping for a RO!

YES!!! Waiting here too!!! We are going on the now "worst week ever" first week of December :) that has been deleted from the FD offer. We stay deluxe and with 2 adults and 1 child (plus 1 that doesn't pay) it safes us more if we get a good RO discount. Let's hope that RO includes the first week or Disney may cause a lot of Disers to have a heart attack :lmao:.

We have 15% off at the BC for a CL Deluxe room from AAA. I really do think that the free dining would save us more money (I did the incredible free dining vs. room only spreadsheet and free dining came out $1000 cheaper than our current 15%) but we have never done the dining plan and are a little apprehensive to give it a shot. Our main reason being we don't want to be tied down to the dining credits. For instance we will be eating breakfast in the CL lounge every morning except for two character breakfasts. We have a sit down nice dinner every night so the QS lunch is our real issue. We just really don't like the QS too much so we might feel like grabbing a small snack instead or maybe even two. If we are able to get 30% off the room then it comes within a few hundred dollars of the free dining. So let's hope for 30%!!!!!!!!

Oh and I know this has been asked a million times....but

can you still get your room and have the discount applied??
I know they have made some changes...

we thought about a split stay and moving over to Little mermaid but they were not available....wonder why??

have any of you guys split your stay at different resorts...how hard is it and worth it or not????

Yes you can have the discount applied as long as your room category is included in the discount.

We did a split stay last December 5 nights GF/3 nights AKL. We loved it so much we are doing it again this year at the same resorts. We LOVE AKL but because the only transportation option there is the bus we don't stay there the whole time. We love GF (especially during christmas time) but really really like that you can get to 2 parks on monorail. We only have to take the bus to DHS since when we are at AKL we go to AK. We just hop in a cab to AK. My DD has major sensory issues & the bus can make her very uncomfortable at times. Even if there wasn't issues we loved split stay. The packing was a little pain but this year I'l be better organized. They transfer your bags but I did have a backpack with a few things because they say your bags can take a little while to get to next resort. We went to DHS that day and when we got to AKL our bags were there.

Sorry...that turned out to be much long than expected!! :goodvibes

Joining in with a question. If I book RO on Travelocity, they have 10% off in addition to the current discount for Aug/Sept. Is there any risk to doing this as opposed to going through Disney? I currently have a RO split stay in Sept with 3 nights at AKL and 5 nights at WL. I can save over $200 by canceling my current ressie & rebooking with Travelocity. Any thoughts?

I'm doing the same thing for my solo trip. I hope I don't miss out on any Disney magic by going with Travelocity over Disney. I've never booked a WDW trip with an outside agency. But I've used Expedia, Travelocity, etc. several times for other vacations.

Also wishing for a RO discount! We'll be there Nov 5-12 for the Wine & Dine marathon. Looks like it's gonna be quite packed!! ALl DVC rooms are sold out as is the Yacht club. I'm booked at AKL, hoping for that 30% discount!

I am trying to decide if I want to take the free dining promo coming out or a room discount. I am flying solo next trip, my dates are pretty flexible: late October or early November. I would stay at AS Music so get the quick service plan. That is a lot of food for just me.

I was always told-if you got the kids-go for free dining-if it's 2 or 3 then take the room discount... For instance-I'm going for my honeymoon and there's two of us-however, her cousin/husband and 3 kids as well as their aunt are going-so they need two rooms-they'll have to crunch the numbers I suppose-if you question it-just call, I did last night and the CM confirmed that the room discount was definitely better

Joining the list waiting for a RO discount. Need it to cover the first two weeks in October. Crossing fingers! pixiedust:

I'm also really hoping for a room-only discount in October. I've come to realize that free dining doesn't make any sense for me. I wish we had more info about whether anything will be offered on Aug 1st.

Hoping for a room only discount also. Have AAA right now, but would love a better discount like we ad last year.

Same here! DH and I will be there with another couple Nov. 7-12, then the guys go home and other girls join us for Nov. 12-18. The 2nd part is DVC points so no discount for that but would love a RO discount for the 1st part!!!

We are joining in on the wait too! Adding a couple of nights at the end of our stay at ASMO and splurging to take the kids to AKL at the end of Septemberpopcorn::
