DH and I decided to add a room to our family's Feb vacation. We need the extra bathroom and space. We have 3 kids and we are currently booked at POR in the AB section. We've stayed at POR in the past and have enjoyed it, but I'm thinking it might be nice to try a different mod since we can book standard rooms. Where would you stay if you had the choice? Our kids are 15, 13 and 9.

The only mod we've stayed at is CBR and we loved it. We loved the caribbean theme, the pool was great, and the food court was nice with alot of variety. We also thought the bus transportation was awesome. CBR is centrally located so it didn't take more than about 10 minutes to get to any theme park, water park, or DTD :thumbsup2. We really enjoyed the resort and would definitely stay there again :wizard:.

I didn't care for the CBR. But I LOVE POFQ. The smaller size is more suited to our tastes. It's very charming.

With the ages of your children I would go with Coronado Springs. The pool area has one of the longest slides on Disney property. While I love POFQ too, the pool area is more suitable for very young children. To begin with, there is only one pool, and the slide is very small.

OP-- Did you put in a request for connecting rooms on your reservation? If not, do that asap! I'm guessing that you want rooms that have the inside door between them, as that is the only way you will be able to sleep with your hubby. Even adding that request, know there is a small chance you won't end up with connecting rooms. Disney will try the best they can to meet that request, but sometimes it is just not possible.

Coronado Springs :goodvibes

We are also a family of 5 and were very saddened when our youngest turned 3 since we can't stay there anymore without getting two rooms. This is the favorite resort of all 3 of my kids, DH & I.

Last trip we brought my parents along and decided to try CBR. We thought the piratey theme would be more appealing to the kids. It was nice, but we all agreed that we prefer CSR.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I stayed at CSR for the first time this year (having stayed at each of the other moderates more than 3x). If you decide on CSR, I OWULD pay extra for the preferred room. IMHO CSR and POR have teh best food courts.

Thanks for all the replies :goodvibes I called Disney today to see what they had available, and they told me there were no more preferred rooms at POR or CSR. DH doesn't want to be stuck "in the boonies" of the resort. POFQ would help there, but the pool probably wouldn't be as much fun for the kids. I'm leaning toward CSR because of the pool and the free wifi. What do you think my chances are of getting a room in the Cabanas with a request? We're checking in the Thursday before President's Day.

Keep in mind that you can go to the POR pool as a guest of POFQ! So that option ought to satisfy the kidlets.

Unfortunately I do not have first hand experience, just research. Port Orleans has more than one pool. There is one in the French Quarter and more in Riverside. Also I noted your children's ages, Port Orleans has the biggest arcade in the "World". I know we don't go for that but I have a 15-year-old who loves arcades. With our package we get $100 credit for each room. We too have 3 children and need 2 rooms. This might help with your decision making.
