I am thinking about purchasing into the DVC, most likely via a re-sale.

If I buy 250 points at the Boardwalk Villa's, do they have the same "value" so to speak at the Animal Kingdom Villas?

I was looking at the points required for AKV for a one week stay in a 1BR villa and it appears that 250 points would cover it. Also, do the number of points required for a stay increase year over year?

Lastly, are there maintenance fees, similar to other timeshare companies? If so, what are they?

Thanks in advance. Luke

Yes, you would be able to use your BWV points at AKV or any of the other DVC resorts. The only difference is that you would not be able to reserve until 7 months before arrival while AKV owners can reserve at 11 months. Be sure to do the math, considering purchase price (including any incentives available thru DVC), closing costs, status of the contract (banked/borrowed/current points) as well as the annual fees, before making your final decision. Also depending on when you would want to travel and the type of villa you would want, you may find availability to be an issue - although the waitlist does work.

Here is the history of DVC annual fees at all of the resorts:
