Can anyone tell the crowd difference for "Jersey" week in November vs. the last week in August? And is there usually a code for the beginning of November? I can't decide if we do go, when we should go...thanks!!!!!:thumbsup2

I would look up crowd calendars here: http://www.easywdw.com/

Not sure which week is Jersey week, or if that makes a difference.

For August, it depends on when you go. The later the better.

I would much rather go during Jersey week in November than hotter than H E double hockey sticks August. The heat and humidity in August is miserable. I would rather have the whole state of New Jersey in the parks and deal with slightly higher crowds than deal with 95 degree temps. But that is just me. I hate the heat. We have only ever been during lower crowd times. October, November, January and April.

I vowed never to go again in July or August. The crowds were awful. The heat was not as bothersome to me as the crowds.

We have done both times.. The end of August is so very hot, I can't say how crowds are because we never stayed in the parks long enough to notice the crowds. On most days by the time we got to the parks, the kids wanted to eat and leave, they were just too hot. The pool was always full of people.
The start of Nov. can be some what crowded, but nothing that you can't manage. It's not so much as Jersey week, as it is the end of the Food and Wine Festival that is causing the crowds, you will mainly see them at Epcot.
We are actually planning a Nov. trip now. I asked the family if they wanted to do the end of August again and they all said, NO. I rather do April, but it was too soon for us.

I'll probably be the lone dissenter, but I liked August better than Jersey Week. I thought the crowds were similar (we went at the beginning of August) and the heat didn't bother me or my daughter. Now my dh and ds did get very hot and it some days it made them both cranky.

I think I liked August better because it seemed so laid back. We knew it would be hot, so we planned a lot of mid day downtime. We always rent a vacation home, so hanging out at a house rather than a hotel room was very relaxing. The kids could swim, play video games, have snacks and generally chill out while my dh and I could be somewhere else in the house reading, using the computer or napping. We have tweens, so YMMV. ;)

I also liked being at the part at night better in the summer. Part of that is that it doesn't get dark until much later, so it just seems like the evening lasts longer. Plus, its warmer. The nights can get a little chilly during Jersey Week.

When it comes right down to it, our family enjoyed both trips and I'd go back at either time.

The later in August the better. If your choice is late August or Jersey Week November, I would select August as my time of travel.

I'm from Jersery and have done both! I actually lucked out with my family last week in Aug 2011. We got down just before Hurricane Irene hit the NE and the weather was awesome!!! It was hot, but humidty was a lot less maybe because of the weather pattern - not sure. We walked on every ride, had no lines really anywhere and it was extremely enjoyable. Do note, we did have a brief rain shower here and there, but it was sunny most of the week.

I've also have done November a few times, but prefer to go after Jersey week, but before Thanksgiving. This is usually the slower week and again very enjoyable. Little to no waits and beautiful weather. Do note and caution, check calendar for Disney events!!!! Even ones that are not necessarily posted. We went last Nov-2012 and parks were super packed! Between marathons, F&W festival, Veterans Day, conventions etc., it was crazy. Had a good time, but would have definately booked the week after had I known all these events were going on. Thanksgiving falls very late this year and there is that extra week in Nov. which should be ideal if you decide to then.
