Hello everyone! I'm new here and am hoping that you can tell me how the lines are during the time we are going to Disney.....We are going to be there Nov 10 - 18. I am counting on it not being too busy since we will be there the week BEFORE Thanksgiving. Anyone been there during that time? Thanks! izzy :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

We were at DW last year in November. We are going again November 6th -17th. It was not that crowded last year. I do know that "Jersey week" is the first week of our trip so you will be arriving in the middle of Jersey week. Also, the Super Soap star weekend is the 12th/13th. (Correct me anyone if I am wrong!) So, unless you want to see the Soap stars, I would suggest staying away from MGM over that weekend. "Jersey week" is a somewhat busy time as supposedly a lot of New Jersey schools have a few days off of school that week so a lot of people come down to DW that week.

Honestly though, we were there during JW last year and it didn't bother us at all. We love going in November since the weather is a lot cooler then so the crowds and lines are more barable.

Hope that helps and have a good time!!!

We were there the week after Jersey week 2 years ago and it was not crowded at all. So beginning the Sunday or Monday of yourtrip you will find it very pleasant. One of teh best times of the year to go.

This will be our 3rd yr of going the week before Thanksgiving. :cool1:

Simply put, we were able to do all we wanted at each park in a day, without rushing to do so. The weather has always been great....a little chilly early morning and in the evening with the days sunny and warm (hi 70's to lo 80's). So, if your like me you'll need to bring along a jkt or sweater for the am & pm.
See you there :wave2:

thanks for writing in ..... I am so hoping not to have to wait in line for an hour for a ride!!! It's our "little princesses" b day on the 13 too!! Chef Mickeys is where we're going for dinner....31 days to go!! woo hoo! :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

I'm going Nov 11-20th, so I'll be there same time
Thats the same time frame we went last year...I would expect your first couple of days there will be on the busier side since you're hitting end of Jersey week, end of Food and Wine Fest at Epcot, Super Soap Weekend at MGM, and Veteran's Day weekend. But based off last year's crowds, things will calm down a bit on Sunday (you may still want to avoid MGM that day though) and the rest of your time there the crowds should be really low with then not really picking up again until Saturday as the Thanksgiving crowd starts coming in. You picked a very good time to go!

We were last at WDW in November 2003 (7th to the 15th), we picked that week because Veterans Day. That year, the holiday fell on a Tuesday and our school district (Scarborough, Maine) also took Monday off. Because of that, we were able to be gone for six weekdays but our kids (seven and ten at the time) only missed four days of school.

We were up against "Jersey week", the "Food and Wine Festival" and the "Soap Weekend" but it didn't really effect us much. The crowds were moderate, by using "Fastpass" and hitting the big attractions early, our longest waits were no more than 20 minutes in most cases.

The weather was great. The temps were 70's into the mid 80's with only one day of rain. Our Typhoon Lagoon day was 85 with bright sunshine.

We liked the time so much we are going back this year for another week (11/4 to 11/12). This year our school system is taking two days off in addition to the holiday so our kids are only missing three days of school!

I've read a lot on this site about the possibility of bigger crowds this year due to a better economy, more conventions and/or better marketing by Disney. It would have to be a huge jump to adversely effect what has been a traditionally slow time of year.

:cool1:

Better economy?? I was wondering myself if the cost of gas was going to make some people change their minds?? I know it'll be an "owie" for us but we HAVE to go to disney!! hahaha.....I hope it's not TOO crowded. We went in April, spring break and we will NEVER do that again!! It's crazy!!

:earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: 4 Izzy's going to Disney!!

We are also considering going Nov 12 - 18 or Dec 10 - 16. Any thoughts on which would be better?

I think the weather might be better in November, but It would be nice to see the Christmas decorations and such.

Elizabeth

Elizabeth....I would say the December trip would be better if you want to see the Christmas decorations. We were there for Thanksgiving last year and the decorations are amazing! Especially at MGM studios!! Thanksgiving was busy so that is why we opted for the week before this year. I so hope it's better. I have heard that the beginning of Dec is awesome too. Hope you have a great one!
