I called in yesterday to make all my reservations and it all went great :goodvibes I got amazing service both times I called, which let me tell you something, is refreshing when you're used to calling Disney Cruise Line (I work for a travel wholesaler and I'm a cruise reservation agents, and some of the Disney Cruise Line agents... well, some are great, and some you want to hang up the phone when you get them)

I did have to make a slight change of plans twice. I won over my wife by suggesting a reservation at the Crystal Palace, cause she loves Winnie the Pooh pooh:, and so we figured we'd try to have it for dinner the day we get to the parks. Our flight lands at 11:50, so we'll be able to spend a good portion of time over at Magic Kingdom, especially since there's the three EMH in the evening.

The earliest they could make a reservation for was 3:50 pm though. At first I thought that should be fine, I mean it's four hours, we don't have to grab our luggage since we're doing the Magical Express, and so on, but I did ask the girl her opinion on it and she said she wouldn't personally recommend it. I figured she knows her stuff so I decided to follow her advice, and instead we made lunch reservations for the Thursday on which we also have the MVMCP :)

Then I was planning on having dinner at Mama Melrose and doing the Fantasmic dinner package, but the day we're spending at HS, it was sold out for dinner. There was plenty of open space for lunch though, which was actually what I originally wanted to do, but I didn't think they had the Fantasmic package for lunch. The guy I did it with assured me they did though, so that turned out great :thumbsup2

Everything else went well, I got exactly the restaurants I wanted for the days I wanted, including Cinderella's Royal Table for the last day of our trip.

And now, I have a serious thumbs up to give to the guy I made all my reservations with except the Crystal Palace.

We did all my ADR in order of days (Mama Melrose, Chefs de France, Hollywood Planet, Tutti Italia (is that the name? I keep forgetting it, I just know my wife wants the lasagna!) and Cinderella's Royal Table). Somehow, at some point in the middle of all this, the fact that it's my first visit came up, but I didn't really take much notice of it - I remember the girl I did the Crystal Palace reservation with mentioned she'd put it on file and they'd do something special, which I thought was cool, but somehow I had forgotten about that by the time I made all my reservations.

Now, we get to Cinderella's Royal Table, and he asks "Aside from first visit, is there any other event we should mention on the reservation?" to which I mention it's my aunt's birthday, since that's the only reservation where we'll be eating all four of us together (my aunt and uncle decided to join my wife and I on our travel :) ). Then I light up, and I go, "Oh, the person who's traveling with me (my wife) is also on her first visit. Can we put a mention for that on this reservation?" He says sure thing, I give him her name, and everything is good.

Now I figure, drat, I forgot to mention my wife on all the other reservations! :headache: But I'm like, oh well, if anything I'll call back to mention it.

That evening, I go on the website and go into my reservations. Every single one of them was mentioning a first visit for the two of us! The guy actually went back into them and changed the mention to include her. I thought that was really great service, he didn't have to do that, I didn't even ask him to cause I figured I'd kept him on the line long enough as it was XD

But yeah, it all went great and I'm glad I called rather than doing them online. It wouldn't take my credit card online as a guarantee anyways :confused3

But it all worked out for the best, and I'd definitely recommend calling any time over doing it online. Both times I got through within a couple of minutes if even that, and the service was great. Plus, if you have questions, they can answer them easier than having to look them up on the website

I had to make a few changes after discussing dining options with my aunt, and she said she and my uncle wanted to join us for some of our reservations. Basically, three of them I had to change from 2 to 4 guests.

I called again and this time I hit a wall. I don't think the poor girl knew what she was doing :rotfl:

I wanted to change my Mama Melrose, Chefs de France and Crystal Palace. We start with Mama Melrose, and she can't find any availability for four guests instead of two. Then I ask her if she can find anything for just two, since my aunt wanted to do the Fantasmic package - she can't.

Chefs de France, same thing. Now, while she's looking at that, at the same time, I'm looking it up online. Chefs de France, I notice there's a spot available for two at 6:10. Since my aunt and uncle wanted to go anyway, I told her to just grab that one for them, since mine and my wife's reservation is at 6. That one she makes no problem

Then the Crystal Palace, she was able to change.

After I'm done with that, I go back to check things out online. I search for the Fantasmic package, and as it turns out, I'm able to find a reservation for 2 at 12:20 pm! :confused3 so I just grab it, not too bad, mine is at 1:30

A little bit later, I realize... if she missed that one, maybe she missed other stuff too?

So I go back on the website directly, and I search a reservation for four at Mama Melrose with the Fantasmic package for the show at 6:30 (the one we have). That same spot, at 12:20, comes up available! Alright, maybe it got released by someone else, who knows, so I just go ahead and grab it.

Then I look up Chefs de France. And what would you know - something's available for four at 6 pm! The reservation I actually had and asked her to look for!

So I just made those changes, and now everything's looking pretty good :)

I also cancelled my Tutto Italia ADR, since we already have plans for other italian eatings during the week, and we're going to Coral Reef instead :goodvibes

We also made an extra reservation for Whispering Canyon Cafe on the day we get there :cool1:

I have noticed sometimes different things are open online and not on the phone and vice versa. That is why you always check twice! :lmao: Glad you were able to get everything you wanted! Have a magical trip! pixiedust:

Yep yep :) The first time I called because for some reason, the website wouldn't take my credit card for a payment guarantee :confused3

And now when I made the Fantasmic package reservations online, it worked no problem. Maybe last time was because I'd just payed my whole Disney package so my credit card company was like, woah woah woah, chillax there woman :rotfl:

But I'm very excited about all those dining reservations :goodvibes
