November or December?

I am so disgusted! We (me and DH) and our best friends are planning a surprise trip for our kids. We had the perfect week (first week of December) and already had it booked, then my husband found out that he is not going to be able to take that week off from work. Back to the drawing board....

We are now looking at a few weeks:

The second week of November (Veterans Day week)

The third week of November (which will be the week before Thanksgiving)

OR

The second week of December (5th - 11th) - we heard there are some kind of football championships that week?

The week before Christmas.


If anyone can give us any input on any of these weeks it would be greatly appreciated!!

I would go the second week of December, in fact I have reservations for Dec 6 to 12. I was there last year with the football players/cheerleaders it wasn't a big deal unless you are planning to stay at All Stars (where they stay). Crowds were low, the Christmas activities are not to be missed.

Our last trip was the week before Thanksgiving, and besides some unseasonally cool weather, it was great!

Low crowds, relaxing - nice!

But we saw the Christmas decorations slowly appearing in spots throughout our trip, and so wished we could have been there to see the final results!!!

We have been ALL of those weeks! And I would have to answer, IT DEPENDS!

November has the fabulous Food & Wine fest @ Epcot.....we just LOVE that....and early November has warmer weather, probably better if you want pool time or a water park day.

The end of November and into December brings the spectacular Christmas events, which are simply outstanding. The park hours in November and December were (at least when we went) very similar, but the weather in December was not what I'd call "pool weather", even for us hardy New Englanders. The kids swam, but I chose not too!

Then comes the whole once-we-get-home-Christmas-shopping-and-decorating issue. I was SO not prepared for how quick Christmas came once we returned from WDW!

If I had to choose, I'd go with December, and make sure I planned EVERY possible Christmas event.....AND I would be vigilant about being prepared for the holiday season BEFORE I went on vacation so that returning wasn't so stressful!

I would go second week of December.We are goin 7th through 14th this year.Can't beat the holiday doings with MVMCP and CP and all the decorations.

We will be there from December 13th through the 21st. I understand the Pop Warner stuff ends just before we arrive. Yipee! Mickey

Every time that I have went around Christmas, I went in November. The crowds are not that bad. And if you are a passholder, you can see the preview of the Osborne Lights. There is cookies, hot chocolate, adn fake snow falling.

You mentioned football players the second week of December?? What is this all about??? Are the professional or college players?

I would love to see some professional players on my next trip in December. I will be staying at the All Star Movies, but I could always switch to the All Star Sports!!

They are young football players & cheerleaders - Pop Warner, ages 5 to 16 according to the website below. They have competitions at Wide World of Sports. People staying at All Stars at the same time have reported that they can be very loud. I noticed them around the parks at times, but I don't think they affect the total crowds that much.

**Their "Super Bowl" is Dec 7 to 12 this year at WWoS
