November Direct Sales

I will say we do not see the entire story here as I think AUL probably had one if it's best months in years with the incentives they offered there. And those numbers do not get reported on this list. I would assume that AUL took a decent chuck on of the other WDW sales in November.

Correct me if I’m wrong but don’t many cash sales take a while to get recorded? I had our Riviera contract spread over a few months. I wanted a fixed week and didn’t want to finance. My guide was fine splitting it up and holding off closing so I could pay cash and spread out a little. I wouldn’t be surprised to see similar cash type sales recorded over the next couple months for the promo that just ended.

We just returned from our first stay at riviera and it’s now our favorite. There’s not one single thing we disliked. The parks seem to be doing well - they’re packed and while I’m not at all happy about all the extra costs and increased prices for everything, I was willing to pay up for a decent experience. Seems that Disney had no shortage of others willing to do the same. I really don’t think dvc is hurting to any degree. I’d guess they’d be even busier if they could staff.

Sales don’t record until they close. We typically spread payments out so our cash purchases when we buy direct close 90+ days after we actually purchase.

So no points until after you finish paying I take it?

And no interest

And no interest charged to pay over 90 days?

No. They will bill you in installments. It’s a nice perk because with our Disney Visa it gave us an Adirondack month as we did it over 30 days not 90. But still those 7 months allowed us to pretty much save For the total price and then didn’t have to touch the savings account at all!

This is one of the direct perks. You get points immediately even though you aren’t actually closed/own the property. And Disney allows you to spread payments over 90 days Interest free.

If you have a Disney Visa Premier card, you get 2% cashback AND 6 months 0% interest on DVC purchases, effectively making it a 6-9 month loan at 0% interest.

So the way to do it is spread it out 90 days, and at 90 days if you still have a balance charge the rest to the disney card and use then 6 months interest free. Does that sound correct?

Yes! Though you can pay as you go on the Disney Visa. So I usually do minimal deposit up front, a small amount of like $500 at 30 days, $500 at 60 days, and balance at 90 days. I get 6 months financing on all of them, with the largest amount getting 9 months of no interest.

Your guide will need a special approval for closings that extend 60 days but I don’t think it would be difficult to obtain.

Autocorrect rides again! Sometimes I wonder which keys I actually hit, when I see what autocorrect guessed my typing was supposed to state. :p

Hahaha! I was doing it at the same time as something else!!

Lol. Good catch!!

If within those 90 days, a deal pops up, can you change anything or what you have is what you have?

You are only allowed to change or cancel the deal within 10 days of signing. After that, you are committed to the contract and price.

Yep did this exact thing with the Disney Visa. Recently added on 50 points and paid 10% + closing costs now and the other 90% will hit the card in mid-January.

I can't believe that EXCELLENT BW promotion didn't move the needle?

I get Aulani is missing, but I'd think BW would tick up too.

DVC is still heavily ROFRing. THat isn't something they'd be doing if they planned to drop prices. But then, I said that right before the AUL/BW drops. I'm not sure even they have a real plan.

I want to see what the AUL #’s are. I have said before if they were serious about selling it out. Make the price attractive and people will buy. $133 pp for 300 points was a very good deal.

We might not see the effect of the promotions for a couple of months, when the closing actually occurs (presuming people spread out payments).

I think the 2042 expiration date and the BW sale being cash only (no DVC finance option) limited the amount of buyers for BW. AUL didn’t have either of those issues.
