November Check In 2010

DH and I will be there November 26 - 28th for DH's 1st trip to DL! We have ressies at the Carousel Inn, but I want to change to Embassy Suites North. We're looking forward to seeing the holiday decorations. We're going to WDW next December to see how they decorate their parks!

Just found this board the other day in researching for my family's trip. I made reservations yesterday at the Hojo for Nov 28-Dec 3. I can't wait!

We'll be there from Nov.10-Nov.15th and will be staying at Fairfield Inn. Can't wait to see the holiday decoration.

Hi everyone :)!

Well here I am ready to finally book my November Disneyland trip :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:! I haven't been in 6 years and I am so excited, I want to write .."you have no idea" but I think you all do :thumbsup2!
I am planning on visiting on November 8th, 9th and 10th and will be traveling from Sweden where I live. I will be staying with friends for a short
2 week trip although I have to get my Disneyland Days in don't I! I even want a 4th day but can't seem to squeeze it in anywhere haha! I'll be visiting the parks with my Cousin Maria who will be in Vegas for 3 months having an American adventure as she puts it!!
I'm hoping to book us in at the HOJO with a good discount. Perhaps I can get an Entertainment book or maybe I'll even buy a Deluxe AP! Otherwise I'm thinking of ordering a 4 day hopper now before the price hike in...like, a few hours.
So I just wanted to stop by and say hi! Look forward to planning with you all :goodvibes! I mean I have never even been to California Adventure!

Sorry changed Hotel again did the same in January cancelled HoJo and got a good deal for Alpine Inn today from Expedia

Hello again! Questions, and more questions! I've been going to WDW for the past 6 years and know it like the back of my hand but even though I'm a CA native it's been years and Disneyland is almost new to me again!

Going 3 days in Nov., and really want to see the Aladdin show if we can. Now I've read that there are preferred seats but we would have to buy a package? I can do that and always do for WDW with Dreams Unlimited Travel but I read that for DL you pay over what you would pay if you bought everything separately? In one thread there was a picture of all these goodies including a backpack but surely that wouldn't be included with a HoJo booking?

If anyone knows that would be great, thanks :goodvibes!!!

YAY!!! 3 days is a great amount of time when you have so many other great things to see too!! And good friends to spend time with as well :)

Rates were down today a bit for the departure. I think I might make it one more week to see if the return flight goes down. After that... all bets are off!
I see our departure flight from CO has been creeping back up in price. Looks like we bought at the right time.

I can't wait until November!!! I have been on the boards everyday getting my Disney fix! I already know what I want to eat when I get there!

YIPPEE! New visitors and more fellow travelers! 3 added today for a total of 45! Ooops wait! Somewhere along the line I miscounted cause the list shows 46!

Just found this board the other day in researching for my family's trip. I made reservations yesterday at the Hojo for Nov 28-Dec 3. I can't wait!
Howdy! Just added you to the growing number on our list! I see that you are very new here on the Dis. I hope you will make yourself right at home and I hope you are finding all kinds of useful information to help you plan your trip!

We did Halloween last year and Christmas the year before and Christmas you're definitely immersed more in the spirit. I loved that we'd left bitter cold Colorado and were listening to Christmas music while wearing shorts and looking at palm trees. Made going home a lot more difficult, though.
Our weather is not quite so shocking to return to but it still is mighty difficult to go home!

We'll be there from Nov.10-Nov.15th and will be staying at Fairfield Inn. Can't wait to see the holiday decoration.
We will be arriving on the same day. Looking at the list there are quite a few arriving that day! Must be a good week! :thumbsup2

DH and I will be there November 26 - 28th for DH's 1st trip to DL! We have ressies at the Carousel Inn, but I want to change to Embassy Suites North. We're looking forward to seeing the holiday decorations. We're going to WDW next December to see how they decorate their parks!
Welcome! Good luck getting the rate you are hoping for at Embassy but if you happen to end up staying at Carousel Inn I would love to hear a review. Might be a good second option for us. The decorations are lovely! I bet you won't be dissappointed at either park!
Interesting tag you have there! Bet there's some good story behind that one!

Welcome! I hope you all have magical DL vacations! :goodvibes
It's Disneyland! Magic will be everywhere!!!! :wizard:

Welcome to you all the way over there in Sweden! We will be happy to share in your excitement.... and YES we do all know what you mean! :yay:
I hope you have a safe trip, a wonderful visit with friends and a fabulous time in BOTH parks! Good luck with the Hojo rate and squeezing in anther day at the park!

Sorry changed Hotel again did the same in January cancelled HoJo and got a good deal for Alpine Inn today from Expedia
Not a problem! Glad you found a better deal! I have updated your info.

I am glad you are finally getting to make it back to DL! I wouldn't even want to think about being away from DL for that long! Anyway, if you can can manage your way around WDW so well you will have DL figured out in no time!
Aladdin is wonderful!!!! Can't really respond about the travel packages as I have never done one. However, I would like to offer our experience with the show. Having done both preferred seating and plain old stand by seating I would suggest that IMHO you really don't need special seating all that much. The one time we had the special seats we sat so far up front that when the magic carpet flew overhead we could not really see it very well without straining our necks. This, for us, is one of the occasions when sitting farther back with a full view of the entire stage is much preferable to being up close. (Also at the Candlelight Processional, just in case anyone would like to know)

3 days is good but you gotta admit if one has the time 4 is even better! :rotfl:

Yeah, yeah! Rub it in! I'm still watching like a hawk and while they were down last week I probably should have jumped on it but I am currently in tightwad mode so not quite ready to admit defeat! Hoping the return flight will budge! We will see what next week brings. Time will tell if I end up regretting waiting. Seriously though, I am glad you got a good deal! :thumbsup2

I can't wait until November!!! I have been on the boards everyday getting my Disney fix! I already know what I want to eat when I get there!
So do tell! What are you planning? Bet we have some of the same places in mind! I know most of the places I want to go too but have not quite set down to decide which days. Will need to get onto that before too long because our 60 days to make ressies will be here before too long!

So I had a few extra minutes this morning to piddle around. While perusing through e-mail links and old bookmarks I ran across some pages of interest I thought I would share. This first link just goes to prove that after 10 years of visiting Disneyland there is always something new to learn. I have scads and scads of notes on my neverending "things to do list" but I did not recall ever having heard of this one:

Look for the old witch in the cage at the Let Bat en Rouge in New Orleans Square & turn the key to the cage. She will talk to you. Interesting, no? :confused3

If you are always looking for new and interesting things here's where I found the list of fun things to do.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/tips.htm

In my course of continued exploration I found that we really do have some good sources for planning right here on the Dis. For those of you new to planning a trip to Disneyland here is a wonderful page chock full of information! (quite useful for seasoned planners too)
http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/plan.htm

And, finally, this link will certainly not interested everyone. However, I remember a time when my DD was totally frantic when it came to using the restrooms in the park. Doesn't sound like much of a problem until you have experienced it yourself! Poor child was terrified she was going to be flushed so she refused to go ALL DAY LONG as long as we were in the park! Curse those newfangled sensors! Anyway, thank heavens she is older now and somewhat braver so it does not pose nearly the problem it used to. Still, she does prefer a self flusher so this handy dandy little guide can help to point us all in the right direction! The more I think about it, I do suppose just about anyone planning to be in the park could benefit from knowing where the bathrooms are all located in DL!
http://www.mouseplanet.com/potties/trivia.html

So there you have it! My words of wisdom for today!:lmao: Just a little more data to add to your useless information files!

:banana::banana: Yay - We just booked our November trip to DL! It'll just be DD15 and I this time, from Nov 10 - Nov 14 at the Candy Cane Inn. Looks like we'll be joining lots of other DISers at the park that weekend. Can't wait, and needed to share my excitement with others who will understand! :goodvibes

Is the Alpine Inn nicer? Do they have an entertainment rate? I was so happy to get that rate for our stay with the exception of Saturday night I think!

What are the local restaurants - Mimi's and what else? When we get closer I want to sign up for some of their email clubs - right now with Mimis you get a free breakfast for joining!

Wendy

Not that I am aware of they do not have the ER. It suits our needs, 2 double beds microwave fridge etc. They were in the process of refurb some of the rooms when we were there in January Breakfast is purchased danishes and coffee tea and OJ is was ok but we go shopping at food 4 less for our breakfast and meals, and Alamo car hire is next door Disneyland is a 15 minute walk we like it I would like to stay a HoJo but not next to the Freeway maybe next time. As for the rooms were ok and did not smell or had dirty carpet as some reviews of other Hotel say. Staff were very friendly and helpful as they gave us an early check in being on a plane for 14 hours it was very nice of them and when we checked out they looked after our baggage for us until we had to get the bus to LAX at 4 pm, even on holidays we do not eat out that much may be one take out meal every few days Only eaten in the Parks, MacDonalds, Burger King and Subways for lunch never been to a Restaurant. Hope that helps

Oops I just had a thought...when do we expect Disneyland to (most likely) tape their Christmas Parade? I'd rather miss it I think. I'm going mid week so I guess I won't see the Processional, right?

Another crazy thought..I'm actually thinking of changing up my dates so that I either arrive on Oct. 30th late afternoon or even on Holloween. I'd probably only do the Parks on Holloween during the early morning and afternoon hours before heading over to friends to see their kids go trick o treating. Which I want to see, but leaving Disney would kill me too! So I'm torn... wahhahh :upsidedow! Then I'd just stay from the either the 30th or 31 (if I could even get a room) and do Disneyland on Nov. 1, 2 and 3rd, properly.

So many decisions! Knowing when the Christmas parade taping is would help in making them :).

Then I can get to the fun stuff, like what I'm gonna eat :dance3:lol!

Congratulations :yay::yay::yay:!!! We understand hehe! Oooh November, I'm going in November too, with my cousin who better not bail on me lol, but otherwise I'd be alright regardless. I am pretty sure we are going to try to book the HoJo but I keep going back and forth between that and the Candy Cane which sure looks pretty! I bet they do it up nice to for the holidays :)! 4 whole days too, good for you :thumbsup2!

ps I like your name, mine is so boring haha...no imagination!

Thanks for the advice, I've relaxed now regarding Aladdin seating thanks to you, phew! In early planning mode I need to relax some, it's all so exciting!
Loved all the links, and though I don't need it I really think the bathroom one is cool because there are people that do. Love the Disers for compiling information like that and sharing it along!

I think I messed up. I pre-ordered our SeaWorld tickets when they came out with the special for kids tickets for $5. I thought I had read somewhere that there is a free shuttle service that gets you from anaheim to seaworld. But now I see that the service is free - but you buy the tickets from them. So I assume that I will not be able to use that service. So now what? Anyone know the best way to get from Anaheim to SeaWorld and back for a day trip?

I think Alamo has a car rental place at DTD so you could do a one day car rental. I don't mind the drive to Sea World as it's pretty easy going down I-5.

:woohoo:Yay for us we're finally down to double digits!:woohoo:

Thanks for the nice comment about my DIS name, but honestly, every time I type it I think I really should have picked a shorter, easier to type name - so I think yours is perfect! :thumbsup2

We've stayed at the Candy Cane many times, including 2 years ago in December and I don't remember them having special holiday decorations up, but the property is just beautiful anyway with all the plants and flowers. I've heard the HoJo is nice and the entertainment rate they offer is great, but we love the Candy Cane. :goodvibes

The Candy Cane Inn was one of my top choices, it looked and sounded really awesome!

Congrats on the double digits! I think we're close. We'll probably do some fun countdown stuff when we hit 30 days.

I am leaning very strongly towards renting a car, because it will give us the opportunity to actually go see the ocean instead of just driving by it. I know my husband is extremely hesitant to drive in CA, but I think we'd be fine.
