Phew! My waitlist for one night in a standard view 1BR came through Friday.
Originally, we were visiting Nov. 12 through 19. When I started looking at airfare, the cheapest flights I could find for the four of us came in at around $1,200. Southwest had a fare sale, and I was able to fly DCA-MCO for $535 if we traveled on a Wednesday.
I checked the DVC site; I was able to get Nov. 10, but not Nov. 9 or 11. I reserved Nov. 10 online, grabbed the Southwest tickets, then called MS to cancel Nov. 16-18 and to get on the waitlist for Nov. 9 and 11.
MS canceled the days I no longer needed. The CM started to look at options for the two days. We were both concerned about Nov. 11 as it is a holiday and also during F&W. The CM put me on hold. She came back on and said she was "working on something." After being on hold a bit longer, she got back on the line to tell me that Nov. 11 had popped up while she was talking with me. She didn't want to tell me until the night was added to my reservation.
She also found a 1BR at Jambo House for Nov. 9 (our arrival day). Worst case scenario, we move our stuff between the two AKV buildings after the first night.
Luckily, we now don't need to worry. I called MS yesterday; they merged the single night with the other six.
Now I can have my groceries delivered the first night! Yay!
