I can't help but get excited about this cruise already. This will be our first big vacation with all the kids. I keep telling myself it's still a year and a half away!!! But at least I'll have something to look forward to to get me through my husband's deployment this year. I'm sure I'll have all our excursions figured out in my mind by the time he comes home!

I like the idea of the smaller groups too. So how does this sound:

Once we reach 40 cabins, I will split the group into groups of 20. If we reach 60 cabins, then we will have 3 groups, etc.
No one needs to give to every one on the list unless you really want to.

I will keep an open discussion about this in case we want to make changes to the number until October 1, 2013. That day I will be making the official updated list permanent.

Here are a few things I was thinking of:

Does anyone have any ideas or have any thoughts on a logo for our cruise? Does anyone know of anyone who may have talent for that? I have no creative bones in my body

Anyone been thinking of any names for our cruise? If you do don't be afraid to post them. I love all the ideas...

Someone had mentioned maybe shirts or lanyards or both for our cruise. We had lanyards for our last cruise and it was nice because most everyone wore theres and you knew they were with your group and it made it nice. I think the shirts would be nice also because it would be another way to find people while waiting in the terminal

What does everyone think????

Haven't been doing too much planning over the last week. If you've heard about the Waldo Canyon Fire in Colorado - well it is still burning, over 18,000 acres (mostly wilderness recreation areas).Tuesday, it exploded into Queens canyon, pushed by 65 mph winds that shifted and came over the ridge into Colorado Springs into the Mountain Shadows neighborhood on the city's west side.

Don't know how many homes have burned down. They're estimating in the hundreds. (our mayor just said the preliminary # of homes destroyed is 346 - subject to change) We live on the east side about 8 miles from the furtherest eastern part of the burn so we're safe. Colorado Springs still has hot spots & some areas still burning & other neighborhoods are threatened.

This fire is huge & several counties have been on mandatory evacuation. I believe 32000 evacuees in Colorado Springs alone.

Sharon, thanks for posting the link with pic's of the fire. It is so devastating.

My daughter was stationed at Ft Carson for 6 years and was just transfered in July last year. I have been there so many times and to see this beautiful state burning is just devastating.
I'm glad to hear that you are still safe and hopfully will remain so.

It is very devastating. Mountain Shadows neighborhood has over 14000 homes & lost just under 350 homes. Still alot of homes, but could have been much worse. Fire in Colorado Springs still has some hot spots near Peregrine & fire is still threatening Cedar Heights which has been threatened since the beginning on Saturday, but no homes have caught fire yet.
Pres. Obama is at the Mountain Shadows neighborhood right at this moment touring the devastation. We know several families that live in that area.

On the positive side, the entire fire is at 15% containment & they let some of the evacuees back into their homes last night.

Good News!! Waldo Canyon Fire in now at 45% Containment!!!

Most neighborhoods in Colorado Springs that were evacuated have been able to return. Peregrine is still on evacuation (just North of Mountain Shadows). Hot spots there could still become problematic, although NO homes have caught fire.

The Mountain Shadows neighborhood where we've lost 346 homes, of course is still evacuated; however the residents there will be able to come for a short visit today.

DH works at the Verizon Building at 30th & Garden of the Gods. The building is at the Southeast corner of Mountain Shadows. It escaped the fire; however, we have no idea of when employees will be able to return to work because it's still in the evacuation area. We are blessed in the fact that DH can do his job from home.

Thanks Denise. The Waldo Canyon Fire is now 70% Contained, which means they have a really good handle on the fire. They're thinking they might even have it totally out by July 11th which is 5 days earlier than they originally predicted. All the neighborhoods in Colorado Springs & Teller County to our West that were evacuated have been able to return to their homes.

The residents of the Mountain Shadows neighborhood - the one that lost the 346 homes, Many homes still standing will take several months before they can be inhabited again because of internal damage. Those that lost their homes seem to have a really good outlook, & say they will rebuild in their neighborhood. Unfortunately in other neighborhoods evacuated, when owners returned home some found their homes were looted or trashed. So sad that people would do this to others.

It makes me sad when I see the pictures and watch the news. I hate to see this happen and I am praying that it is over soon.

Looking at the movie releases around our cruise date, I found that Thor 2 will be released on 11/8/2013. It's being released by Disney worldwide, so it will most likely be shown on board.
