November 9, 2008 4 day Wonder- who's in?

Hi Marcy,
Happy to see you found this thread!!!! :woohoo: Must mean you're spending some time on DIS!!! Lots to learn for cruising:surfweb: WARNING!!! Its addictive!!
Talk to ya later.
Colleen

Thanks for the welcome, Hilary. You'll be travelling with a toddler too, right? Maybe we'll see you at the kiddie pool, LOL!:boat:

Hi Colleen!

Marcy

Marcy - Yep, ds will be 2.5 on the cruise. I am REALLY hoping to have him potty trained so that he can go in the regular pool part of the ear and not just the splash area. Also, I have heard that if he is fully potty trained I may be able to get him in the Oceaneers Club with the 3 year olds!

Welcome Marcy! Glad to "meet" you! How fun to take a trip like this with your whole family. :) You're smart not to tell your kids yet- just today my DD said, "I can't WAIT until our cruise!!" They are so excited. Probably more so than about going to WDW! We've watched the Travel Channel shows on both.

Colleen, we haven't looked into transfers yet. We'll take something privately- either a town car, or a rental. Gotta be able to stop off at some store and buy some booze for the cruise! :woohoo: I haven't started looking at prices yet, though. We usually have car rental coupons or points we can use- so we'll see.

Christine

on booking your own Travel. Isnt it so much fun? My dream was to always work for Disney or be a travel agent. I am working my way there.

Good luck on your cruise!!

Deanna

LOL, Mrs. Charming. We're on the potty training train too. My DD will just have turned 3 so I's hoping that she'll be able to go in the Oceaneers too. At least we've got a goal to aim for!

Thanks for the welcome, everyone!

Marcy

Last night my DS came up to me and said, "Mom, did you know the Disney Cruise is coming to Los Angeles this summer?" (the ads are on tv everywhere, and that sounds like the exact wording on the commercial!).

"Yes, I did."

"Well, why don't we go on that one instead? We won't have to wait sooooooo long!" :rotfl:

I explained to him that I had indeed, looked at the LA cruises... but they were too much money.

"Can you look again, Mom? Maybe they're having a sale." HAHA!! I WISH!! I didn't have the heart to tell him I have checked many times, and nope no sales... and it's now like $8,000 for a cat 8 room on the 7 day! Yikes!:scared1:

I guess my kids are as excited as I am about this cruise! Anyone elses' kids getting into the countdown now?

Christine

My one ds12 is very excited about all the food!! Thats all he talks about. Nothing like a starving teenager!!!:rotfl2:

I am so excited. I can't stop researching.:surfweb: 8 months is too long!:sad2:

Well, my 21 month old is too young to know better and my friend has not told her kids yet but I have been a planning fiend!

I must have tweaked our itinerary for the land part a million times although I *think* I know where I want to make all our ADR's (which I can do on May 9th)!

So where are you planning to go/ eat? I haven't started that planning just yet! I need to, especially for any ADRs.We still haven't decided if we are going to do Disney Dining yet. I need to first figure out where/when we're eating, and see if that saves us any money to do that.

Just to whet your appetite...

We got to go to Club 33 (!!!!!!!!!!!!) 2 weeks ago, and Mickey spent a lot of time with us there. I love this picture of him looking out over New Orleans Square! He wasn't supposed to do that, and the waiter fussed at him. :rotfl: Apparently he can't be *seen* there since he might be supposedly somewhere else in the park at that very moment.

Ahhh, the lengths they go to keeping the magic alive for us!

It was a wonderful meal... making me look forward to eating on the cruise!!

Hi, this is my very first post and I just got off the phone and booked us on the cruise. I am very excited. We went last year and loved it.

:woohoo: me  DH princess: DD 4

We will be joining you as we are doing a Land & Sea Vacation, too. We will be staying at the Port Orleans French Quarter. My sister, her husband, her DS (4) and DD (9months) and my mom will be going as well. This is my mom treat to all of us, too. We are taking the DCL bus to get to the port. We are then returning to stay at Pop Century for 2 nights after we return from the cruise to use our 4th day and go to the MVMCP on Friday night.

I can't wait! I have been researching and planning like crazy. My family thinks I'm nuts, but I want to be ready when the 180 day mark comes to make my ADR's.

This is my mom and my family's first cruise, my sister and her husband have been on 2 prior cruises.

Look forward to counting down with you all.

:welcome: Inukshuk and Momto2princessesIL
:cool1: More people on our cruise!!:cool1: This is our first disney cruise too! We are going to kissimmee for 4 nights before our cruise and to treasure island on the gulf coast for 4 nights after our cruise. Can't wait. I think we might go to the new waterpark at seaworld. Sounds wonderful. We have been to disney the last 3 years and I think my boys have had enough...not me though!!!:mickeyjum Looking forward to doing all my favorites in the magic kingdom with our one day left over ticket!!Looking forward to showing my mom magic kingdom. She hasn't been there in 30 years!!

If you could only go to one park...which one would you go to????:rolleyes1

Where is club 33??
Lucky you. I want to see Mickey too!! I LOVE MICKEY!!

I love MK too!!! When we have done disney in the past we go to MK at least 2-3 times during our trip. The other parks only get one day.

I have stayed at the POFQ and loved it. The kids will have a blast at the pool. I lived in Louisiana for a few years so this resort has a special meaning to me. I love the magnolia trees and the decorations and music playing.

Where are you from? We are from Ontario, Canada.:yay:

I have to say MK as well. We are staying at the Poly for the first time. I have added 1 pre night and 2 post nights to our stay. We are also from Ontario, Canada.

Me :surfweb: DHpirate: DD 4 princess:

I grew up in niagara falls but live in a small town outside of St. Catharines. So nice to hear you're from this neck of the woods.

I have stayed at the Poly but 30 years ago when I was a kid. I'm sure you will love it there.:lovestruc I had initially thought I would surprize my mom and book us there for old time sake but because there are 5 of us all together its too expensive. :teacher: So we are renting a condo at Windsor Hills in kissimmee. I have stayed at this resort before and its beautiful. The only downfall is that its not at disney.

Looks like you were up early on a saturday morning. Is that the time your daughter starts her day? My oldest is a teenager so he just rolled out of bed at noon. Its nice when the kids are getting older they can fix there own breakfast and I don't have to worry about them getting into things.:woohoo:

Do you fly from toronto or buffalo?
