November 8, 2008 7 Night Eastern 11/8/2008 11-8-2008 FIRST POST UPDATED ON 10/16/08

If you're talking about airport transfers, DCL is $69/person each way. For a large group it would be cheaper if you call a town car company and have them pick you up with a van or two.

Of course, that was before gas hit it's current prices. I'm not sure if the towncar companies have raised their prices so that it's higher than DCL's service is now.

Thanks for the info about DCL transfers. We usually use a limo service, but the prices this time have really gone up. However, they are cheaper than DCL. I guess I had better get the bus booked.:thumbsup2

I guess I could've just posted mine too:

Saturday : Nada
Sunday : 11:30 Brunch 3:30 Aroma Stone Massage for her 5:00 My Massage
Monday: 4:00 Manicure for her
Tuesday: 12 Metre Regatta
Wednesday: Palo Dinner - 7:30
Thursday: High Tea - 3:00
Friday: Her Pedicure - 6:30
Saturday: Drive I-95 for 6 brutally painful hours

Mozart: Hmmm. We think very much alike. We have Sunday brunch but at 11. We are doing dinner at 7:30 as well.

I haven't booked my pedicure yet, but was indeed planning for late day after Castaway.

I tried to book Stingrays at Castaway, but ran into difficulty as the system won't accept DD's ressie as she is listed as age 4, but turns 5 during trip (the age limit for the excursion). I was blown away by the quick response to my email to DCL, so hopefully this will be resolved. I also booked the butterfly tour at SM and Magen's Beach at ST. Ahhh. The good life.

I KNOW that I will be doing the wine tasting and martini tastings as well.

Does anyone know if we can book the breakfast in bed and romantic turndown service ahead of time? Any way to guess when the character breakfast will be?

Good morning everyone. Mozart..will check out the regatta. My dd will be almost 9 and need to check on age limits for things. I know I am totally late in the planning stages but am good under pressure!!

Pixie Dust-thanks for the schedule. That will help in plannng some of the on board acivities. I did get an email from my TA saying she would book the excursions etc. But I thinkI should do it myself. This way I know I was on the ball right away trying to book things. I don't think we will do too much b/c this is our first time but I am always open for suggestions! and what are you doing for your dh for his bday? I saw the stuff you can order for the room. do you let Disney know ahead of time about b days? my dh's will fall on Thursday the 13th and my 8 yr old is the 22nd but we will celebrate on board.

My TA is also looking for FL redsident discounts and military. Do any of you fall into that catagory??

Thanks again and looing forward to meeting you all thru this thread
:cheer2: cmom

That was the thing. We were having to take the wine tasting into account when we were booking all this stuff. We want to do that too. We're shooting for the tasting on Monday afternoon, so we were scheduling everything appropriately. (and depending on old Navigator's to not change.)

Breakfast in bed can be booked for any morning you like except disembarkation morning. Simply leave your card on the door the night before. When we get to the ship, we'll have a card in our room telling us which night the romance turndown service will be. No choice there.

Age limit for the regatta is 12 and up. Sorry.

My kids will be 8 & 9 at the time of the cruise. They will meet the cut off for the minimum height/weight. You have some younger ones in tow. I think you will need to find a family member who wants to go to Loterie Farm for the nature walk, restaurant, etc. and is willing to have the kids tag along while you hit the zipline!

thanks for the site. I will check it out. do you have small children going with you. I'm not sure what to do with Ds 5 and Dd 1 while we go on the zip line. We also have family traviling with us. But I'm sure they want to do thier own thing. I can't expect them to babysit while on vacation. Thanks again

Zoom,
We have the late dinner seating. It should work if I can get the kids to sleep in a bit in the morning. No problem for my DD, my DS on the other hand is like me. We tend to be up before the sun whether we need to be or not.

CC day is one of our most "scheduled" days. We plan to have our REAS breakfast on the veranda as we pull into CC. Then off to the Stingrays first thing. The rest of the morning and early afternoon is free. Then we have the parasailing at the end of the day. Early that evening DW has her pampering scheduled at the spa. For now, all four of us are scheduled for the parasailing. Some in the family are a bit iffy on it though.

CheeringMom - We live in Tampa, but we couldn't find a resident rate. This is also our first cruise and we are not planning to do much. I think we kind of want to get a feel for it and then the next time we'll know what we're doing! Right now I'm a bit overwhelmed. This board is awesome, i've already learned a ton.

Hi - So glad I found this thread. We are going on our 2nd Disney cruise -Self ( Sue), DH, DD, DSL, DGD (6). Can't Wait - looks like we have a great group going!!!!

1DisneyQueen - ref the mini meet - where are you from? we could still do so.

I am all up for the Margarita Testing, do they have that more than once per cruise? :yay:

Just a reminder that I am organizing the gift exchange for our cruise. If you are interested please PM me and let me know:

Kate

On the last cruise we signed up for the wine tasting as soon as we got on board. I must say, they were very disappointing and we aren't doing any this time. Our local wine store has tastings that are so great and put Disney to shame. This is the only thing I would say is a weak point on the cruise. We are going to "wined up Wednesday" tonight at our wine store. They are do French wine tasting tonight.:drinking1 . They always have fruit, cheeses, & crackers with the wines. It is very nice.

Anyone getting a break on gasoline? It is hard to believe that we have paid $3.49 this week. The sad part is that we think this is a good price:scared1:

:cheer2: cmom

Can you believe it is now August!:cool1: The next thing you know, we will be packing!

Get those fingers ready for calling in Palo bookings next weekend! I hope there are no computer problems:surfweb:

Have a good weekend, everyone!:dance3:

Yeah for Aug.!!!!!!!!!!! :worship:  :goodvibes :cloud9:

I think I can wait another 3 months, I hope( before I go crazy waiting)! LOL

I can see, taste and touch the "Magic", it's just that close!

We've been watching the cruise videos on Youtube. We're all so excited, it's going to take FOREVER to get here!!!!!

HI CRUISERS! There was a post this morning on the main thread from someone looking for y'all. After I posted the link for them I REMEMBERED that some of my favorite people are ON this cruise!:cool1:

Hope you all have a wonderful voyage and if you plan on re-booking on board....keep the 9/12/09 Tortola cruise in mind! ::yes::

.

Hello all, have been very busy with work. I got on the thread last weekend and had to read about 10 or 11 pages. Then I wrote my reply to you all and for some reason something happened and everything I wrote went away. :confused3
Anyway.............:welcome: Welcome aboard all new comers. I know who you are as I have been keeping a list since the beginning which helps to know what page I last read.
I do want to wish the wedding couple best wishes and your honeymoon will be great on board the Magic. :bride:
We are not doing much in the way of excursions as our vacations are really for rest and relaxation. I did do excursions on the first cruise we did and it made me feel like I was at work. Up at 6 get breakfast be ready for the vehicle to pick you up rush....rush.....rush. (My work days are 16 hours so you can see why vacation means vacation to me.) When I retire, which at this rate will be never, :rotfl: I will be able to do excursions as I have all year to rest up for them.:rotfl2:
When on board I want to be waited on and I take full advantage of just that. :tink:
There are some things that I would like to do on board as far as the tastings go. I'm sorry to hear that the :drinking1 Wine Tasting is not that great, but may try anyway. Also would like to do the :drinking1 Margarita Tasting (spelled wrong, but who cares as long as it tastes good: thumbsup2 ). I've done Martini Tasting and hated it. I found out that was not a drink for me. I also would like to try and get to the :snooty: Tea at the Palo. The rest of the time is to be spent for eating and drinking! Wait a minute I will be drinking...:yay:
Well let me run have to go shopping and finish :laundy:.
Hey everyone 95 more days and we'll be boarding.
See you all there, Arghpirate:

Hi Jackie, this is Nancy from the Double Dip Nov 2006. How are things with you and Peggy? It seems like ages since I saw your screen name. I would love to do the 2009 and go there. It is an island I have never been to. But it will be too close to this trip and not much time to save for it the way prices are going lately! Say hi to Peg. Take care.

Silly girl, I know who you are....you ARE one of those favorite people I just mentioned!

Peg is actually doing the Tortola cruise too (she JUST decided this week). As a matter of fact, all the siblings will be doing this one! :cool1: We had made a pact to spend our 50th birthdays together (which we have done) and now 'the baby' hits 50 next year. Peg had chosen Jackson Hole WY as the party spot, then realized how difficult organizing that would be AND how much easier it is to have a group vacation on a cruise....so she switched to DCL! BLESS HER HEART!
