November 7,2013 3 nights of Disney DREAMs!

It's taken me a while...but were officially booked!!! It will be just my oldest dd and I. We will be celebrating her golden birthday on this trip. I tried to find a cruise closer to her actual birthday, but with the cruise she only needs to miss 1.5 days of school vs. 3.

Now to figure out where to stay the night before. I really don't want to rent a car since it will be just the two of us. I was thinking of staying at a Disney resort and taking the bus to port, but our flight gets in at 7pm Wednesday night...so I'm not sure it would even be worth it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, our flight on the way home doesn't leave until 5pm (it was 100.00 cheaper pp to fly at that time vs. the others). I was thinking of maybe renting a car and going to DTD or something before our flight home???

Congrats on booking!
I fly in same night as you. DH and I opted to stay at WDW at AOA and take the bus thru Disney. Our flight arrives around 5pm, I just wanted to keep it all to Disney bookings to make it easier.

Ive been told that the bus gets people back to resorts around noon on departure day... That would only leave you little time for DTD, maybe renting a car would be a better option like you said.

I booked us at POP that night we fly in and will add transportation to the port. Since its just my dd and I, I want to make it as easy on myself as I can. Still looking into renting a car on our departure day...don't really want to sit at the airport until our flight leaves at 5:50 that night.

That would definitely be a drag to sit in an airport longer than necessary when you can utilize the day like u said at DTD! G'luck at figuring out what's best for your timing!
I think booking pop was a good choice, we originally looked at booking right at airport and price was more than the resorts.... Odd, so obviously we wanted to stay on property for less money;)

Just a heads up you won't be able to check in until closer to your departure (I think its 3hours). So you will be sitting a really long time before even going through security. Another option is to get a day rate room at the Hyatt? The hotel at the airport. Might be nice to just rest.

Hi everyone!! Just joining in. We reserved our room on deck 7 today!

This will be my first cruise and my husband's first voluntary cruise.
He is Active Duty Navy and was stationed on a ship for 6 years...so he got to take a few cruises on the governments dime...although it was never to the most fancy places.

We were married at WDW on November 17, 2012 and moved from FL to MD 6 days later (on Black Friday )...so we never got the opportunity to take a honeymoon.

This will be my husband and my late honeymoon / 1 year anniversary trip too! :thumbsup2

I sent you a friend request on Facebook so you can hopefully add me to the group.

I couldn't find either group - the one Dayzee created or the one you made. :(

First timer question...what's Fish Extender? AKA...I'm on my iPad and hope you can save me a Google search.

Another first timer question...what us B2B?

So sorry - I didn't see this - a B2B is a Back to Back cruise - you get off the ship then back on a couple of hours later for the next sailing!!

Hi everyone!

DH and I first cruised on the Fantasy (with DS and MIL) in September 2012. WE.LOVED.IT!! We were supposed to go again September 14th, but due to a family emergency and some other factors, we postponed to September 2014. I *thought* I'd be okay with that. But I'm not!!!

I am doing my best to convince DH to book this cruise as IGT or VGT and either hope for pixie dust at PC or create our own pixie dust and upgrade ourselves (if Tinkerbell is taking a vacay). It would be an adult only get away, which is why we're picking a 3 day vs 4 day. DS would be thrilled to spend a few days with his Nana, and she with him.

Hopefully today we'll decide to go for it but I'll admit that I'm a little concerned about not being able to pick my own room. Has anyone done an IGT or VGT in the past and can report on their experience?

Thanks and hope to cruise with you in a few weeks!

Can't say I have ANY experience with that way of booking- but It seems like our cruise may not be too full.... My guess.... Who knows.. So you may get a great room

Just booked this. My parents and I are both waiting for our cabin assignments .. VGT. Odd that I got main seating and they got second ... so they're waitlisted now. I may have to change if we want to eat together. :rolleyes1

Now just trying to decide whether to leave the ship at Nassau (reading too many horror stories) or stay on the ship and explore. I've only ever been on the Magic.

I ended up renting a car from the port and were going to do some exploring before we head to the airport. My dd really wants to go to Gatorland, so I think were going to do that. No way would I want to sit in the airport for hours before our flight...thats torture!!! :)

Hi All!

Just booked a VGT cabin as well! It will be me (Debbie) and my Mom (Jeanette). She doesn't know we are going just yet. Her 70th Birthday is this Saturday and this is her surprise gift!

This will be my first time on the Dream but have sailed previously on the Classics. Staying at Pop the night before and using DCL transfers for the first time in a vvveerrryyy long time. But for this trip it was just easier on me!

Just waiting for the room assignment!

Debbie

We are so excited for this. We are coming down from pa to fla on the 6th and staying at the hotel in the airport, then jumping on the first disney transport on the 7th. :cool1:

Looking forward to coffee on our verandah every every morning. Anyone else on deck 7?

My mom received her birthday gift of the cruise yesterday! :cool1::cheer2: Let the planning begin!

We have not done a cruise this short since we went on our first Magic cruise during its Inaugural Season!

Can not wait for our room assignment :)

Maybe we'll see you on the bus. We're planning on getting there for the first one too!

See you then. We are getting their the night before and staying At the hotel in the airport.

Ohhh, I wanted to stay at that hotel but it was a bit too much for us. We're staying at the Hampton Inn nearby. It was more than $100 cheaper. However, I keep checking the Hyatt site in case there's a deal or something.
