November 7, 2009 ~~~~ AHOY ST.CROIX ~~~~

15 and, except for one transfer, this is their 3rd year together. How about you?

18 (I think). This is the second year all together and all will all be Junior GS but 3. We have a great troop leader and do lots of great activites with our girls. Just finished our candy sale and now prepping for selling cookies in the snow in January. We live in Mass but are so close to Rhode Island that we are from the Rhode Island counsel. My daughter loves Brownies!!!

Hi All. Its my Sunday check in. 2 out of 3 luggages packed and I know Thursday will come fast. Need to work late this week to make time up for leaving early Thursday...don't want to be driving all night to NJ.:drive:

Kids hit the jackpot Trick or treating this year. My daughter went with her half sister and her boyfriend. They came home with 16 lbs of candy combined. Im sure they'll have tummy aches this week.

Hi Joe....glad to see you came out of hiding....:rotfl2:

With the kids missing school....do the kids have work to make up? My daughter's teacher doesnt really want to give it but I feel thats unfair that they excuse her from work for the week.

Good Nite All!!!!

Yes. Finally!! I got the final fixing done on Tuesday. :goodvibes

I've been sick since Wednesday, so I haven't been on the computer. I got laryngitis last week. By Thursday I had a super sore throat and absolutely zero voice. I had to write on the board to communicate with my third graders. That was exciting for them for about 3 hours. Too bad I had them in class for 4! :rotfl: Plus I had 4 parent-teacher conferences that day after school. I had 9 the day before, my voice left after #4 that day so it was a real treat. I had no conferences Friday (minimum days all week for conferences, we are starting our fall break)... my principal said, " LEAVE LEAVE LEAVE as soon as the bell rings! Go get well before your trip!" I think everyone at work has heard so much about this trip, they're ready for me to go too haha! Plus my mom, who is cruising with us, is ALSO a third grade teacher at my school!

So here I find myself after being out much too late in the night air on Halloween, still coughing but at least people can hear me now.

I'm almost finished with the cruise shirts (13 out of 16 done) and the rest of the 16 or so will get done tomorrow. But all the washing and ironing is done, and the "hard shirts". Unfortunately the iron on paper jammed in my printer and I can't get it out. :headache: I hope DH can figure that out tomorrow, otherwise it's off to Staples to print those remaining iron ons! I still need to put together my scrap swap- I have it all out but just can't get my cricut to do what I want so I may have to skip that part!

We're about 1/3 packed. DH would be 100% packed already if it were up to him!! We leave on a red eye flight Wednesday night. I take my parents to LA for their red eye flight on Tuesday night. I think I'll need a nap Tuesday afternoon for sure!

Christine

Christine, can you pm me what's the trouble with your cricut? Perhaps I can help?

We're in Lumberton, SC headed for Jax. Hopefully today will be better than yesterday - it rained all day and the road spray was awful plus people don't slow down, so it was dangerous too.

Please gang, REST! drink lots of water, take your vitamins etc. YOU MUST STAY WELL!!

Hello, Joe! 'bout time you showed up, lad.

Happy day, all!

I don't know who's crazier -me for bringing my extended family with me or Laurie for endeavouring to make so many mysterious new crafting and cropping friends. It's an awesome mix of everything we like to do together -I'll come with an open mind and see what happens.

Once "the replacements" (DD, DS) have ditched us, you'll likely find me and my brother getting up to no good somewhere. Maybe this is more of a tip for the other skulking DH's out there, but I digress.

I have been following along the conversations but more so the other news that I expect to weigh on me up until we depart and then after we get back, like the weather and the exchange rate. I will replace my regular worries with cruise worries like finding just the right beer to go with my sandwich.

Hi Jon

Sorry -I meant to chime in much earlier. Hi everybody !

:3dglasses

Welcome Joe! Glad to see you posting. And, I give you credit. I have been on the DIS since our first cruise in 2000 and my DH doesn't post - he just wants to know what is happening on the 'dish boards'. :lmao:

Hi Jon

pirate:

Well, I can tell you where my DH spends his afternoons - in the pool - just stands (or treads water) drinking his beer. And, upon occasion, he gets out and sits in the hot tub and then back into the pool. You are most welcome to join him - he will be the one with a can of beer, his DVC hat and his glasses on!

Here is to hoping your driving weather is better today Linda. The only thing worse than driving in the rain - is driving in the snow! At least you don't have to worry about that.

Three more days of work - yippee. And only 3 more sleeps until we head for Nick and Cara's for the night. Today's list of tasks include getting my travelers checks.

Take care - and safe travels to those that are on the roads. Kathy and Greg must be in WDW - have fun.

:wave2: Hi Joe,

Glad you made it out of hiding. But no worries most of our husbands dont venture out either. My husband usually just asks me what is going on with everyone here. He doesnt really understand it all. But likes all of the neat relationships we have all made here.

Just checking in. Hope everyone has a great day!

We have never before been upgraded and didn't expect one this time. However, Donna just got a call saying we have been upgraded. Our room number was 6060 and now we will be in 8060. We will put it on Bob's door also but wanted to catch everyone who has not left yet.

All packed and wishing we could leave today.

Congrats on your upgrade! I am so jealous! I even logged onto DCL's site to see if I got some pixie dust, but nope, still on deck 1. Oh well, at least I'm on the Magic and we are sailing on SATURDAY!!!

Lots to get done still. Those scrapbook pages are calling my name and saying "make me, make me" so I'd better get busy!

Maybe you can get an upgrade because we did. Our room will be available to someone else.

Bonnie

I just checked and we got an upgrade too. Moving down the hall to a room with a view - from the terrace no less. Very excited.

We are now in 7542.

We had been in 7506 ( I think) which was right at the front of the ship and had a porthole cabin.

I'm not counting on an upgrade. We have our reservations linked to our inlaws room so I'm afraid that we won't get one because of that (so that DCL doesn't feel like they need to move both of us). We have a connecting cabin, which isn't something we requested, but it could be nice. I'll keep my fingers crossed though.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! How exciting! Enjoy it!:wizard:

Yeah, I keep checking my ressie, too, Christine ... nada, nada, nada. I am, apparently, the black cloud, of upgrade pixie dust. I may need to have a conversation with my pal Pluto while onboard! Surely he must have an "in" with Captain Mickey.pluto:
