November 7, 2009 ~~~~ AHOY ST.CROIX ~~~~

I have some catching up to do.

I enjoy reading and going to WDW.

We have recently started collecting the Vinyl Mation which is the 3" Mickey figures painted by different artists. I think I've even started Donna's (TiggerzFan) DD collecting these as well.

We collect Christmas tree ornaments from all of our travels, we have 6 or 7 Disney ones among the collection. I expect we can get some good ones on this trip too!

Do you breed dogs as well as show? My DH has done dog shows for a long time (as a vendor- he works for Iams pet food). We have lots of friends in the dog show world. Although, we don't breed dogs ourselves. We do have 2 yellow labs, 1 bulldog (retired showgirl), and 1 golden retriever (from rescue).

We breed and show Labs. I am getting my first show quality Dachshund soon.

We collect: Disney movies and anything Figment

I am new to labs - Walter is our first one and I love him. I have had a few rescued greyhounds - they are such sweeties. I used to have a Dalmatian that I showed but then I had babies and that was sort of the end of that.

Well, I collect Santas but that isn't Disney related. DH has several big figs as well.

Hope everyonge had a good day!!
We also have a rescue dog. She is an American Eskimo, pure white and her name is Fancy. She is about six years old and we have had her about a year. She is actually my DGD's dog, but she lives with us since Sara's daddy isn't a dog fan. But he loves cats. They also have a 4-6 ft bearded dragon. Looks like something straight out of a dinosaur movie. We also had a rescue greyhound for about 8 years, she was 13 when we had to put her down, we swore we would never get another dog. See what those grandkids will do to ya? ;)
I collect Disney snowglobes also. I have quite a few. My favorite is one that my office bought for me one Christmas, it is all of the villans. I also love the first one that I ever got, which was Cinderella, my daughter got it for me one Christmas, and that got me started. I also have quite a collection of Disney cookie jars that sit on the top of my cabinets in the kitchen. Like most everyone we also have a Disney movie collection.
It is going to be a busy weekend here, I will be at the Zest Fest (a festival that Chamber puts on each year) We also have a wedding on Saturday. There were several other things going on as well on Saturday. The popcorn festival is this weekend, as well as a couple of charity things that I would have liked to have attended. Next weekend is the Wizard of Oz fest in Chesterton. That is always a lot of fun. Everyone dresses up like the characters and some of the original Munchkins are there. Hopefully, I will be able to go this year.
Well, I think I have taken up more than my share of space tonight.
Talk to ya later.
Vickie

Oh yes I also have Disney cookie jars. Dopey which they dont make anymore, Goofy, Donald, a snow ball with a bunch of characters rolled up in it.
I also have 2 cansiter sets that are Disney.
I forgot because they are packed away while we are in the RV.

Rick I will look and see if i have a photo of the china closet on my laptop. I know i have one somewhere, just not sure if its on the laptops or not. It comes apart in 5 large pieces. I waited 20 years for Greg to make it. He said he waited until we bought a house so he wouldnt ever have to move it.
I believe he has had to move it 5 times since then:lmao::lmao:

Kathy

Rick I dont have a full photo of it on this computer but you can see one end of it behind this table where Disney characters are having a pirate party.

This is a side view of the pool but you can see the blue silouettes.
My DH painted them on there. I think he did a great job.

LOVE the china closet! IT IS Gorgeous!

We have a collection of beanies from my first trip, I collect Hunchback pins, and DH collects castaway key tee shirts.

Since there are so many of us who scrapbook, maybe we could do some kind of scrap activity? Swap? Crop? Any ideas?

If we do a scrap activity or a crop, we would have to pack quite a bit more "stuff" to do it. What about a page exchange?? Each person design a page, and then we swap those? Or we could each make a small bag of scrapbook items, like stickers, paper, borders, stamps etc. and we swap the bags? This way we don't have to worry about bringing a lot of things.
Just a thought. But then, I had one of my sleepless nights last night :surfweb: so my thoughts are probably a little jumbled.

Good Morning! I had a cruise nightmare last night. We went to check in for the cruise and I had bags, but I forgot to pack them with all of my cruise specific stuff. I had all winter clothes and forgot all the things on the "tips" list! This is my second cruise nightmare (the first was missing the ship and trying to run and jump on!). So it leads me to a Question of the Day...

Is there anything about the cruise that is giving you anxiety or have you had a cruise related nightmare?

My anxiety is probably somewhat related to my nightmare last night...trying to get everything packed and under the airline weight limits! Also, I am a little stressed about telling DD7's teacher we are pulling her out of school. I know they probably won't care, but I still feel guilty.

Good morning everyone,

Back into the 90's here. Guess we have one more blast of summer today.
For everyone who doesnt know you should go to Disneys web site or the main board to day to read all the updated benefits for Castaway members.

Lots of great information there for cruisers.

I will be gone starting this afternoon until sunday evening but then will be back to harass everyone as usual:lmao:

I will check back later to see whats happening today,

Kathy

Thanks for passing that info along Kathy. I hadn't heard of the changes. I guess no Castaway Club party for us this time as this will be our 5th cruise. Our 6th cruise is in February, and unfortunately the chance to have a 105 day booking window won't help because we won't have completed our 5th until past the 90 day window. Oh, well. I hope this change works out well for us in the future.

To answer the question of the day, I've had the nightmare of missing the ship.

Shauna, the changes are for everyone who has done at least one prior Disney cruise.
They have 3 levels of benefits according to how many cruises you have taken.

Go to the Disney cruise line web site and click on castaway club and see the benefits or perhaps someone has put them on the main forum page on the dis.
not sure what benefits you will get but there will be something.

Kathy

This didnt copy too well, but as you read down the 3 ... you see across from the listed benefits is for Silver. Gold and Platnum (left to right) eventually only 1 dot shows, that is for Platnum. 2 dots is for Gold. Sorry this copied so confusing.

WOW!!!!!
Did anyone else just watch the podcast of the big announcements today?
Well, Gawrsh :goofy:, I was all set to transfer a phantom 2010 reservation to a "Dream" Cruise, but now with The Wonder going to Alaska, the Panama Canal, hmmmmmmmm. And The Magic will be back in the Mediterranean.

And even though we've all known for awhile, it must be really exciting for all of you on the West Coast to know you'll have a Disney ship all to yourselves! Now they just need another "Castaway".

Exciting stuff... until, of course, the PRICES are announced.

no cruise nightmares here

MinnieMouse, I like your idea - scrappers - what do y'all think?

Finally finished company's year end financials and my brain is fried!!!! Trying to catch up on these pages not making good progress though. Everyone doing the FE....is everyone making homemade gifts? I'm finding it hard to get anything done before the cruise....Single Mom Syndrome, My grandfather had surgery last week, my BFF is this Thursday, my mom is the following Wends and Grandmom is beginning of October....and thinking there is no hope to get done everything I need to get done in 56 days. But on a good note....we have our flights booked and arrive on Friday 10:30AM.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!

Krista

VERY EXCITING!!! Thanks so much for posting here. I didn't see the announcement until you pointed it out. Hmmm, now do I do Mexico first or Alaska? Decisions, decisions. I'd better start saving my money!!!

Thanks Kathy, I did see the chart on DCL's website. The benefits for cruises 2-5 are the same, except they took away the Castaway Club reception for us. Oh well, I can look forward to going to it in February.
