November 7, 2009 ~~~~ AHOY ST.CROIX ~~~~

Wow, some of you were busy chatting yesterday. I'm gone for 24 hours and I come back to read over 2 pages. I was working on a photobook about our cruise last year. It took a long time to go through all of the pictures and decide which ones to use (narrowed it down to about 300). I got all the pics uploaded to shutterfly and got the WDW pre-cruise part finished so now I need to do the cruise. Trying to finish it by Sept 1st so I can take advantage of a sale. Hope I can get some of it done during naptime today. DD is unusually grumpy--she's cutting 4 molars at once, poor girl. I also need to take some pics of her today. It is her "month" birthday and I always take pics and email out some updates to her NICU nurses and to my family.

Happy Thursday everyone! Love the pictures--Christine & Kathy your pirate costumes are great.

And for those who may be lurking or just haven't responded--do you want wristbands? Check out page 62 for the info!

Great picture Christine. Love the parrot. It is a great touch.

I have seen people walking around with parrots on their shoulders. I dont know how they fastened them but they did.
One kids had one attached to the top of his pirate hat, it was really cute.

Linda, I think I have 3 or 4 sets of those pins still. I gave away many of them since I already had them.

I have a large pin collection since DS worked at WDW and he got them discounted. Plus he got some as awards for a job well done from the president of Epcot and cast member only pins. He decided he only wanted to keep one or two of his favorites. He often gave me a handful to choose from for free..:woohoo::woohoo:

Then I bought a cork board he had filled with them. He was going to sell it at our garage sale so I bought it from him. He said I could just have it but there were too many to just take them for nothing.

I need to use my 2nd board now so I can separate my cruise pins from park pins. But I dont have anywhere to hang it just yet.

I really miss him bringing home pins for me to have.
Now i have to pay full price for them like everybody else:sad2:

Well no much going on today,
tomorrow we are off to visit my mom again for the weekend and go to the state fair :cool1:

Who has plans for the weekend??

Kathy

I'm new here and new to cruising. Thanks for the invite LindaBabe! This will be my first ever cruise. My DW is afraid of the Ocean and I've never been able to get her to go on one. We got the cruise as an incentive for our recent purchase of more DVC points and she finally relented as this cruise was "free" (although I don't know how free it really is after plunking down another 20K;)). We will be cruising with our grandchildren who will be 9 and 8. My DGD is especially looking forward to the dophin encounter we booked through Disney. I am looking forward to learning more about what to expect on the upcoming cruise.

Welcome Grumpygrandpa! I recognize you from the VGC Owners thread. Gotta love those "free" cruises. We got a 4-night with our VGC add-on that we are taking in Feb. The "free" cruise is costing us a lot though, from the cost of the add-on, to airfare, to a post-cruise stay, etc.

Please do ask any questions that come up. Everyone here is happy to answer (if we know the answer) but I'm sure someone will know.

Thanks for all of the welcome homes! Kathy I will work on putting together an email. My name is Rick and my DW is Melinda. Wow! Twenty cruises! That's amazing.

And here is another :welcome: to the group. We will be staying at Saratoga Springs but just for Friday night - no parks for us this time but I do get to stay on the Magic for two weeks. A girl has to have SOME fun.

Back to Back 7 night cruises! Pretty cool.:thumbsup2

Yeah - way kewl. Tomorrow is the 10 week mark for when we fly out. Once things get into single digits, I begin to get excited. And the thought that I don't have to pack and get off that first Friday just makes me smile - and I can't stop smiling.

How is everyone? Tomorrow is Friday - one day closer to our sailing date. I stopped and picked up part of my FE gift last night, and more parts tonight but I still need the 'main ingredient' so it will be a week or so before I can begin that process but I don't think it will take me too long to create.

Take care and have a great evening everyone.

I can see Gail now on deck 10 waving her Mickey hands at us as we all sadly depart the ship. I know that is what I would be doing:rolleyes1

I say we all get some itching powder and put in her Mickey hands:lmao::lmao:

Just kidding Gail, just had to express a little jealously here;)

Kathy

Welcome GrumpyGrandpa! Glad you found us!

What a GREAT idea Kathy! I think Bruce and I will join Gail and her hubby waving good by - only did you notice? When you exit the ship, you can't see it until you're driving down the road! So waving outdoors is kinda a wasted effort. Maybe from deck 4 in the atrium?:rotfl2:

No you need to go to deck 10. The idea was I couldnt see her:lmao:

I figured you would be in the atrium saying good bye until 2010 cruise:love:

Good night all,

Kathy

Welcome Grumpygrandpa!!
It was cool and rainy all day here today, and is supposed to be that way all day tomorrow and through the weekend.:umbrella: And we are scheduled to do a community project outside tomorrow! Looks like I will be getting wet. :sad2: Oh well, a few more weeks and we will be enjoying some sunshine and warm weather. We are going to be in Florida the week before the cruise, our best friends will be coming with us for the first week, and then going back to their home in KY. when we go on the cruise. I tried to talk them into going on the cruise with us, but that won't work for them, so we will enjoy our visit in FL. They want to go to the Keys, I am all for it, but have only been to Key West. Any advice on things we should see and do in the Keys? Our plans are to spend two or three days there, then go to our time share in Orlando. We will do some Disney and maybe Seaworld or Busch Gardens. Whatever we decide to do, we will just enjoy sharing our time with our friends. We don't see them nearly enough since they moved to KY. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Vickie

One thing's for sure - in the Keys, you'll be seeing LOTS of water! I have a guidebook I like a lot Hidden Florida Keys and Everglades by Candace Leslie - it was under 15$

Good Morning, Everybody! Early shift, Checking in. 71 days!

Gee - I was going to stand right by the gangway door and wave good-bye to everyone - NOT. I sort of figure all of this will make it even more difficult to get off the ship the following week. We shall see.

Actually, I had hoped to be able to do some laundry during that turnaround time but now that they have decided to make the machines use your key for payments, that may be sort of tricky. I might have to check in for the second trip before I can do that - or do some toward the middle of the week. We shall see.

TGIF everyone. Ten weeks from today we will be on our way to the airport for our flight to MCO.:banana::banana:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: 10 weeks for us too. I am so excited...the more and more the trip gets closer it might get a little worse. BC I am ready to go now. I love all the comments about Gail doing back to back cruises. I figure if I loose enough weight maybe Gail can hide me in her suit case:laughing:. Ok so I can't loose that much but it be so worth it. So where do we buy this itching powder:scared1:? Just joking again.

Well Tim is at the station today and will be gone till tomorrow and Nate is going to his dads for the weekend. So I guess I have some ME time and I'm not really sure what I am going to do. I know I need to get started on my FE gifts but we shall see. Well I am just checking in for now. But I'm sure I will post later. Yall know me.

Hope everyone has a great day.:cool1:
