November 7-16 (Veterans Day Week)

We have never gone in November before, so I am looking for advice.
We usually go in January as of late and enjoy the cool weather and low crowds. We have young kids so we typically try to make rope drop to get stuff done as we are NOT in parks later then 730pm or so.

We were thinking of trying to go the week of Veterans Day because my kids have Mon and Tue off from school that week.

How does this week compare to January crowds? Weather? I also have a little one with me this trip so I'm trying to avoid January as sickness ramps up where I live after Christmas time and I would hate to have a sick baby down there. Also it is always risky flying out in the winter with snow delays etc.

Thanks for any opinions.

WOULD Columbus day week in October be better or worse crowds??

We usually go that week. You'll find the 7,8,and 9th somewhat crowded due to Jersey week. Crowds will drop on the 10th and the rest of your week will be great. They may offer free dining but probably won't start till 11/10 so if your willing to do a split ress you should be able to get it. The weather is good. Almost no rain. Comfortable during the day and maybe a little cooler at night.

We have been that week several times and love it. It is nice for the kids not to miss as much school. The weather is good and the crowds are not bad. I would go then again, but two of our kids are now in college and can't go during that week. We are going the week before Christmas and hoping it won't be too crowded then either (dec. 13-20)

Been there twice during that time ('10 and last year). Was a little more crowded than I was expecting last year, but still not terrible. You'll get the end of Food and Wine at Epcot, too; Epcot becomes a ghost town right after it ends.

The weather in '10 was gorgeous - no clouds until the second to last day, highs were about 80. Last year wasn't as warm, so no pool, but it didn't stop our enjoyment of the parks.

I've gone 3 times now during the Veteran's Day weekend. Weather can be up and down but generally is great. Crowds are very manageable. You won't even notice a difference because of "Jersey Week"... W&D and the W&D rundisney events bring in the crowds on the holiday and weekend but again it's manageable. Check crowd calendars to get the best day possible at Epcot and work around everything from there.

You also usually have an overlap with the first MVMCPs of the year.

Great time to go... although I'm looking to an April Vacation week for a longer trip the next time we go.

edit - for reference, in the original post mentioning getting sick, I did get a nasty intestinal virus of some kind when I was there this past November. I think getting sick at WDW is a possibility no matter what time of the year with so many people in the parks spreading germs everywhere.
