NO problem Kathy(mom) I will send you an email right away.
Kathy (loves to run) sorry forgot to mention that yup Sean will be turning 9 on Nov 3 so they will be the same age... Do any of your kids bring their DS's with them.... I think mine will...
Well I found something to do, going to watch my boyfriend play ball hockey at 8p, I don't usually go as some of the games are late and I have the kids.
Have a great night everyone...
Tanya

Kathy (mom) love the pictures of Pixie and Minnie... say hi to Peter...LOL
Tanya

I forget, are you a student in school now, or do you teach? Sorry, I'm sure you have said it before. Well, good luck going back tomorrow!

Take care!
Kathy[/QUOTE]

I work in our HS library. I really enjoy that age and work with a wonderful librarian-I am her aide. It's a great job-I love the kids-and having my summers off! I am lucky they allow us personal days so I can vacation during the school year as well. :)

Thank you so much for offering to pick up the shirt!! :) I think we will wait until we get there for real and get one. It gives us an even bigger incentive to go to watch the planes on our next cruise to St. Maarten. We cruise every November the same week. We have a reservation on the Disney Fantasy for Nov. 3, 2012. I'm not sure where it goes. I guess it doesn't really matter as long as we are on a cruise! :cheer2: The Sunset Bar sounds really cool. Another definite stop when we get to Maho. Anyway, if we ever end up on a cruise with you it had better have some airplane watching for the boys!:dance3:
Oh, that is SOOO cool! Tyler will LOVE that t-shirt! We definitely will be going to the Sunset Bar & Grill to eat and hang out while we are at Maho Beach (I found out they broadcast on loud speakers the air traffic control tower talking to the planes coming in and going out.... so it makes it even more fun to watch them land and take off because you can hear the pilots and people in the tower talking.... so we'll definitely be hanging out at the Sunset Bar & Grill). :) If we see that shirt, we'll for sure get it. :) If Brandon would like that shirt, you should PM me his shirt size and your mailing address, and we can get one for him and mail it to you after the cruise. I'd be happy to do that!!

But, hopefully you guys can get to Maho Beach at some point to watch the planes!! Tyler said to me the other day, "do you think Brendon will be on our next cruise?" :) :) cute!

We love the Polynesian! That is our favorite resort to stay at when we go to WDW... have fun!! I wish we lived closer to Florida so we could get to WDW more often, but it's a 6 hour flight for us and an expensive flight, so it's not a place we get to often.... but we are only a 2 hour flight from Disneyland, so we go there when we need a quick Disney fix. :)

Have fun at the Polynesian. You guys will have a great time.

Thanks for telling me about that shirt!! :)

Take care,
Kathy

Just so everyone knows on the kids lists I sent out today I mispelled Tanya's name and i put Tonya.

So make sure you all know its Tanya.:thumbsup2

My bad:headache:

It is fixed now with my appologies to Tanya.:goodvibes

Gma Kathy: Thanks for the kids list. Thanks also for the beach pics, it's good to see another part of the country. :thumbsup2

I've noticed some of you using magnetic paper to print on. I'm laminating my pics and bought a roll of magnetic strip that you cut. Just pointing this option out in case anyone hasn't thought of it. It may be cheaper, not sure, never used the magnetic paper

Another thought: I've decided to try to purchase all the Christmas gifts that I need and charge them on my Disney Visa to redeem the points towards a gift card for the cruise. Some of you may have thougth of this already but I just got the Disney Visa this year. This way, all that work will be done before vacation. :cheer2:

Question, does anyone know if the cruise-only Dooney & Bourke line is the same as last year (white background with navy blue handles)?

Thanks Kathy for the kids list, hopefully there will be lots more kids on the list by Nov 5th:)

We had a very wet and windy weekend, thanks to hurricane Irene. We lost power for 20 hours, not to bad considering how bad it could have been.

School starts next Tuesday for us, can't believe my DD will be starting middle school:scared1:

Oh i just remembered that i had an email from Disney last week regarding DCL items for sale on line. You go to the DisneyStore.com, then put in cruise line in the search box. There isn't to much on there, but worth a look!

We have used the Disney visa for years and managed to earn lots of points which we have used on the cruise for our on board account or at WDW. We usually use it to book our cruises too because many times you get an extra $50 OBC and no interest on your bill for 6 months if you don't pay it off by then. The perks change all the time but it does help stretch the budget. I think we have 229 points to use this trip. I will transfer it to the rewards card just before the trip.:goodvibes

I have been using cash back credit cards most of the last 2 years and everytime I earn $100 I send off for it and put it in the vacation fund.:thumbsup2 I pay the amount i charge off every 2 weeks so there is no interest to pay and the card doesnt build up a balance due. So they are paying me to use their card instead of me paying them.;)

There were probably 15 kids I didnt list because their parents havnt posted for many months, so we don't know if they are still coming. I hope they start posting again so I can add them to the list too.
I am sure we will have more new people join us before the cruise. The more we have the more fun it can be:cloud9:

Good night all,

Kathy

Changes in DCL's alcohol policy

Some cruise lines forbid you completely from bringing alcohol on board, but Disney Cruise Line has always been an exception. Now, the line is tightening the rules starting on September 19. Here are the new restrictions:

-You may bring one bottle of wine or champage per person over age 21, or 6 bottles or cans of beer

-The alcoholic beverages must be carried onto the ship

-Alcohol found in checked luggage will be confiscated

-Excess alcohol found in carry-on luggage will be confiscated

As always, Disney Cruise Line charges a corkage fee for personal bottles of wine brought into the restaurants. Expect to pay $20 per bottle."

Good evening, everyone. Probably most of you on the east coast are fast asleep by now. :littleangel: I am just now heading to bed... I'm so tired!!! I have been staying up way too late lately, and if finally caught up on me. So, hoping I get a good night's sleep tonight. :)

Re: credit cards, we actually did get a Disney Visa last time we were at WDW. They had a special deal that if you signed up for a Disney Visa, you automatically got a $100 Disney gift card right then. :) So, we signed up for it, and then used the gift card to pay for our dinner at WDW that night and got a free dinner! :thumbsup2 But, we actually haven't used it since. We looked into it, and we prefer the airline mileage credit cards (we have an Alaska Airlines credit card where we rack up Alaska Airlines miles... so we only fly Alaska Airlines, or one of their airline partners). But, to us, free airfare is much more valuable than points to use toward Disney because we travel so much and fly a lot. So, a good share of the time we fly for free because we get so many miles through our credit card and when my DH travels for work, he gets miles for that, too, so that gets us even more. Depending on the time of the year, airfare for all 4 of us on the direct flight from Seattle -> MCO on Alaska airlines can actually be as expensive as our cruise itself, believe it or not!! So, when we fly to Florida, we almost always fly on mileage tickets (that is how we're getting there in November for this cruise... we redeemed miles for 4 mileage tickets, so it is only costing us $20.00 total to fly round trip from Seattle -> MCO direct.. $5.00 per person service fee. ). So, we decided to not use the Disney Visa at all, but just continue to use our Alaska Airlines card. But, we charge our cruises on our Alaska Airlines credit cards, and so we look at our cruises as going toward free airfare to get to our cruise! :)

NC2WDW: I don't know what the cruise-only Dooney & Bourke line is. What is it? Now you have me curious. :)

Jetflyer: Oh no problem!! Since Tyler's birthday is Nov 3 and my birthday is Nov 10, now that Tyler is getting older, he is choosing to do things like a family trip instead of a big birthday party with his friends (mostly because he knows if we do a family trip, he gets to fly in a plane!!), so I would not be surprised if sometime in the future we end up on another Disney Cruise during the week of Nov 3 - 10, or in that time frame, because it'd be a birthday present for both Tyler and me. Next time we sign up for a cruise with Disney at that time, I'll have to look for you on the cruise meet. I am sure Brendon and Tyler would get along well. And, you seem like such a nice person yourself!! :)

Well, I'm turning in for the night!

Oh, Gma Kathy (that seems to be your new name here with so many Kathy's ), I love all your pictures!!!! I just love the Oregon Coast!!! And, your dogs are just so darn cute!! I love it that you take them to a hotel that accepts dogs. So cute. And, the picture of you is really great!!! You do have very long hair! That is probably just asking for lots of knots and tangles when you are on the Oregon coast beaches with all that wind. HAHA!! And, it is great to see a picture of your son, too! Is he the youngest of your kids?? And, where does he live again? It's great you are bringing him with you on the cruise.

All of the pictures you've posted so far of you and your husband and now your son are so nice!!

Ok, take care everyone. I'm off to dreamland! :cloud9:

Morning all,

Kathy,
Peter is our youngest and lives in Oakland.
My hair is actually a lot shorter thant it was around 4 months ago, it was down to my waist. I wanted it shortened to just below my shoulder blades and Greg trimmed it for me, but by the time he was done it was at the top of my shoulders:lmao: Now it has grown to just about where i wanted it to be.:thumbsup2
We didnt have hardly any wind friday night which was great but saturday it was the usual wind, you know that I am talking about, cool and blustery. Which is typical of the Oregon Coast.

We love taking our dogs to the coast a couple times a year so they can have the freedom to run all over and not have to worry about cars or crossing onto someones property. Its a great place for dogs to go.

They give you a package for each dog with s sheet to cover the bed or chairs, poo bags and 2 towels for drying them off. you can get more anytime. They have a small area behind the hotel thats restrooms for dogs:rolleyes1 Lots of trees and grassy areas. They also have 2 hoses where you can rinse the salt water and sand off your dogs before going back into the room.
The balconies have small wire across them so even the smallest dog cant fall over them but leaves enough room for them to sniff noses with dogs on the balcony next door.

Now if we could just find a cruise line for people and their dogs we could do that for their vacation, then do a normal cruise for us:woohoo:

Kathy

Morning all,

cool and cloudy this morning here. Tonight will be in the 40's. What happened to our summer:confused3. By the weekend it will warm up again but for now its like fall here. Fall is nice because the cruise will almost be here but i dont want to loose our summer in August. Our weather didnt warm up until August, so we have had 4 weeks of summer. I am hoping it will stay nice through October:goodvibes

Today is laundry day. YEAH!! Doesnt that sound exciting :rotfl2:

Back later, hope everyone is having a good day today. No more sick kids, I hope!!

Kathy

Everone has great methods to using credit card rewards. I knew I would learn something from posting that! See, I'm not one to charge everything, just yet, even though I pay it off fully when the bill comes. After reading all the ideas, I may just have to start using them more.

LovestoRun: I found the pictures of the Dooney & Bourke line by googling it. They even made one for just the Dream.

Hi Everyone...

Thank you Kathy(mom) for the alcohol policy and no problem on the name mix up.

Also the laminating the pictures for the door and then getting the magnets is way cheaper. I might do that I can laminate at work here and get the magnets at the dollar store... What a wicked idea!

Hope everyone is having a great day, it is bright a sunny here today about 25 out here... My parents are taking the kids to Marineland today, so glad I am not going... Those rides that spin make me ill, guess it is the old age.

Tanya :)

Oh for the alcohol policy guess you can't bring on board the harder alcohol like a bottle of rye instead??? Also when you get off the boat at the ports can you bring more on like another bottle of wine or the six beer?
Tanya

I believe when my son in law bought some alcohol on the islands they take it when you board the ship and hold it for you until your ready to get off. They have a place you can go to claim it on the morning you get off the ship.

I know they sell it by the bottle on board too but again unless your having it at dinner they will hold your purchases until you disembark the ship.
That is how it use to be. I don't know if they have changed that or not.

If I can find an official statement with that information I will post it too.
