Goood morning everyone (or afternoon for you East Coasters

)...
Well, today I had to cancel all of my plans for the whole day because Ryan, my 9 year old, woke up at 3 AM sick.

So, that means I have been up pretty much since 3 AM. Soooo, today Ryan and I are staying home. Tyler was able to go this morning to a sporting event he had planned on, so that is nice he could get out of the house (and keeping my fingers crossed that Tyler (my 10 soon to be 11 year old) will stay healthy, as well as DH and I. At least it's really sunny and warm today, so Ryan and I can go outside in the back yard to get some fresh air when he's up to it.
But, this icon

pretty much is what I look like right now (except I'm not as yellow and not as round

).
I just got caught up from yesterday. Here are my responses/questions....
Ok, this is weird. Trying to do a countdown ticker and can't get it right. But, just noticed I picked out the same as "GreensboroKG" and didn't even notice beforehand. I'm deleting after this post. If anyone knows how to get rid of the black box in the front, let me know.
I think you have inspired me to do one of those count downs... I'll have to figure it out. I have no idea how to do it... do you go into your profile to make it?? I have always thought those count downs are so cute.
Evening everyone
Things have been pretty crazy for the last few weeks, so have not been on here to much.
My parents are no longer joining us on this cruise, my dad has to have heart surgery. It was a big decision on whether we should still go on the cruise without them, we decided to go ahead and go...
Kathy (mom x4) since you seem to be more organised than any of us, I was wondering if you could put a list together, of the kids that we have on board. I thought it maybe fun if we could start a kids board or something, so that they could get to know each other, before we cruise?
I promise to try harder and get on here at least once a day
I'm so sorry about your parents not joining you, but especially about your dad! My DH's dad (my FIL) had 5-way bipass heart surgery about 8 years ago!! It was quite an ordeal, but saved his life. So, I know all about heart surgery and what it entails. Hopefully he will do well, and recovery really well!
I also like the idea of starting a way for the kids to communicate. Both of my boys have been asking about what kids I know will be on this cruise.
Good morning everyone. Love the pix! We got a surprise Fast Pass in May for Buzz Lightyear so we went on twice in a row. Am hoping there won't be any lines when we go to MK the day before the cruise. Also hoping for good weather - no rain, no storms in the Carribbean so we all have a perfect cruise. The bahamas are getting pounded by Hurricane Irene. Hope
Castaway Cay is ok.
Have a great morning everyone!
I still don't know what a Surprise Fast Pass is. How do you get one?? Does it just come out of the machine when you get a regular fast pass? I LOVE the Buzz LIghtyear ride!!! I also love the Toy Story ride at Hollywood Studios, but that ride always has the LONGEST lines, so fast passes are really the only way to go with the Toy Story ride.
I also hope Castaway Cay is OK. It looks, though, like it's right in the eye of the hurricane

so, if that is the case, I hope they can resotre the island fast for all the upcoming cruisers. I am sure by the time we cruise, the things they can restore will be restored, but it's beach erosion, and damage to the land itself that will just take time to restore itself. About 7 years ago, we went to Aruba for 10 days on vacation. We went in November, but August of that year, there was a huge hurricane (I forget which one... maybe Ivan??) that hit Aruba and that part of the Caribbean. In November when we were there, so many of the beaches that were supposed to be awesome beaches were eroded, or really rocky (when they weren't supposed to be), and some smaller beaches that i had read about that were a MUST go to were actually washed away. So, even though Aruba had restored the structures/buildings, etc, the beaches were not as nice as they normally are. But, we still had a great time, and heck... coming from Seattle where most of our beaches are rock beaches, we still thought the beaches were awesome there, but the locals, or the tourists there who had been to Aruba before, or had come from areas where they have nice beaches were complaining about how the beaches were no good. So, I guess it's all relative depending on where you live. That said, if Castaway Cay's beaches are damaged, I won't care because just the fact I can be on a private island in the Bahamas is pretty much all I need to be super excited! And, knowing Disney, they will do everything in their power to make the island just as awesome as it always is.
I told DH that as long as the Castaway Cay 5K course does not get washed away, I'm happy.

I just can't wait to do the Castaway 5K.
Yes I have all the kids and their ages and I am happy to send them out as a separate list to everyone. But in order for everyone to be able to contact each other I have a question.
Do you want me to include everyones e-mail addresses for you guys to use?
Or do you want to just PM each other by your posting names. Many dont have enough posts yet to send PMs and new people will also have that problem to start with.
I have everyones e-mail but will NOT send it out without everyones permission.
So if you guys can let me know I can make the list according to each persons preference of adding their e-mail or asking people ot PM them.
Then I will send all you parents out the list of kids so they can start making friends!!!

Kathy, yes, I am totally fine if you include my email... email or PM here works for me for others to contact me.
Happy Thursday

Last night we had tornado warnings in our area so the kids were a little scared. We were watching Big Brother (hoping Danielle doesn't get kicked off tonight) and it popped up on the screen. So I just closed the blinds so the kids couldn't see it, but they could hear it. It was all ok, nothing happened just a really bad storm.
Tanya
Tanya, a couple years ago I flew to Toronto, and our plane had to circle for about 40 minutes above Toronto because a tornado had formed where the airport is! They had to close down the entire Toronto International Airport for about an hour.... no planes could land or take off. It was the craziest sight ever when we finally landed... there was SUCH a bottle neck of planes on the ground that could not take off, but others that had landed but had no gate to park at because other planes were taking that space, they started to line up planes on the tarmac, including my plane. We had to sit on the tarmac for 2 hours while Air Traffic Control was able to get the planes off the ground, and the ones waiting for gates to open up to their gates... we finally got a gate... I was SO ready to get off that plane. I took a picture from my window of all the planes lined up... I'll have to see if I can find it. I had never seen anything like it, but if you shut a major international airport down, then it's just a HUGE HUGE bottle neck.
Anyway, I was really surprised that there was a tornado, but then I found out that it's not that uncommon to have tornados in Ontario. Intersting!
I'm glad that it was just tornado warnings and there was not a real tornado! Do you guys get tornado warnings pretty often, and have you actually had a tornado in your town/city you live in??
Ok, I think that is about it.
Oh, and all this talk about door magnets, I might make a door magnet for our family and also one for our Christmas cruise in December. Kathy (gma X4), I think I remember you having a really neat
DCL Christmas door magnet or image. I'm wondering if I could get that from you and then I can make one for us and for my inlaws (and surprise my inlaws) for our Christmas cruise.
Take care, everyone!
Kathy
