November 5th 2011 Eastern on the Magic

Melissa,

Great pics, I especially like the ones where the kids are dressed up for formal night! Are those photos from Disney World or Disney Land? I'm sure the pros know just by sight, but I'm unsure. I'm thinking WDW b/c of the trees, but the Pooh statue I have never seen.

Thanks! That is actually in DisneyLAND. We took the kids in July for their first time and it was great. It'd been years since I'd been to Disneyland too. For us, going to CA is much easier and less expensive than FL from Colorado. The formal pic is from a wedding this summer but my daughter is thinking she will bring that dress for the formal dinner on the ship. My son will not be quite so fancy - no tux, but black pants and dress shirt and tie probably :)

Melissa,

I LOVE your pictures!!!! You have a beautiful family! :) It's so funny because your son looks SOOOOO much like my closest friend's son, and seriously, I had to look twice when I saw him! :)

I absolutely love the formal/wedding pictures of your kids!! And, I think it's so cute how your daughter is kind of tilting her foot... that is really cute. :lovestruc

Your FE looks great.... you did a great job!! And, I saw you actually sewed it! That is way more effort than I made... I just used a glue gun. :rotfl2: I have this fear that mine is going to fall apart in the hallway, and I'll see pieces of FE scattered all over the hall. :rolleyes1 Hopefully that won't happen!

Where in Colorado are you from? My DH has a lot of family in Pueblo... so we visit there every couple years. His cousin used to live in Denver, so we have been there several times, too, but now everyone lives in Pueblo.

Thanks for posting pics! It's fun to see more faces... will be even more fun to meet everyone in person. :)

Kathy

Thanks, Kathy! We live in SW Littleton, so basically Denver metro area. That's funny about the resemblance of Cade to your friend's son. You'll have to see if you think so in person too. :)

Besides the Caribbean Disney cruises, if money or time was not an object, what Disney Cruise itinerary would you want to most do??

#1 would be Hawaii
#2 would be Alaska

I would love to go to Hawaii and by ship sounds awesome! DH's #1 would be Alaska and it is the one we would more likely be able to do. If they are doing Alaska in 2013, we may think about booking onboard this time.

We are not too far from Highlands Ranch....a little west and not quite so far south. We are actually in "Grant Ranch" in SW Littleton, if you know that area. My son's best buddy LOVES Michigan because his grandparents live there and he visits, etc. We do a family fantasy football league and my son and his friend share a team, so the boys have a large number of Lions on their team this year. And mainly because his friend is going to the Thanksgiving game in MI so he wants to watch his players play. I wonder if anyone else on this ship is from Colorado?

Great pics Melissa! How old are your kiddos again? The FE looks great!

Someone mentioned duct tape...I think I might throw that out to my DD, she is completely into duct tape crafting right now and has several rolls. I think that might be a good football watching project to do with her.

Thanks! My son is 10 and my daughter is 7 (birthday end of December). Yours?

It's funny all this duct tape talk.... you will have to remember when you look at one of our little gifts. I have a "goodie bag" with a bunch of different things, but here's a teaser - one of them is a bookmark made with duct tape! You will have to look for it in your bag on the ship.

I obviously am still having a hard time knowing how to post correctly on here but somehow I replied without the "quote".... so to clarify I was answering to Mike from his post of:

Great pictures Melissa! Great FE too! We currently live in Michigan, but for 11 years we lived in Highlands Ranch CO. We really miss the mountains.

Kathy you're glue gun should be just fine... we haven't started ours yet, so at this point we may be using duct tape

We did find the magnetic printer paper at Office Max this weekend so we're starting to make some progress!

And to Kathy.... my reply was to your offer of the spreadsheet with all the FE information, but that one had no "quote" either. So if you can, I will take a copy. Thanks! :thumbsup2

To answer the question of the day I would definitely take the Hawaii cruise! Hands down that would be awesome. Someday I want to go to Hawaii.

My DD is also 7, just turned in Sept. I thought she looked like she was my DD's age :) Gotta love the duct tape fad, can't wait to see the bookmark. We have lots of bracelets, bows, and flowers around our house.

Ok,
I have sent the list to BT, Danielle and Melissa today. So if your one of those 3 and didn't receive the list please let me know.:goodvibes

I will check back later to see if anyone else wants a copy.:thumbsup2

Question: I haven't travelled that much in a long while... Guess people don't use traveller's cheques any more???

Tanya

Travelers checks are considered cash. They are not like personal checks. We get TONS of them every day at work. =) They are used more by international travelers than anything.

Loving all the duct tape ideas-we actually had a duct tape day at the HS where I work (we do different themed days the week before the Homecoming dance) and the kids (and some of the teachers!) were really creative-duct tape headbands, ties in our school colors, earrings, clothing-I saw a multi-colored skirt and our art teacher made a beautiful vest. It was alot of fun and most of the kids came up with something.

To answer the question of the day:
I think the Alaska cruise-if we cruise again in the next couple of years we would like to cruise with our daughter and her husband and our grandson. I think the itinerary and excursions would really appeal to them.

hmmm... We have been making fried apples the last few weeks. yum, yum...

We used to make apple butter but that is an all day affair.

If there were no limitations, I would do the Hawaii cruise. However, we can't be gone the 15 days unless its summer and they don't sail there then. In this event, I want to use DVC points at Aulani in 2013 but we shall see.

I would probably never do a cruise to Hawaii again. My wife would never allow it. We took one for two weeks for our honeymoon. While we had a great time exploring the Islands, and just being together. We were in our mid twenties, and more than 2/3 of the cruise was in the late 60's to mid 80's. It was a carnival cruise and was just the wrong demographic. It would probably be better with Disney. We also have been to Hawaii three times including the cruise, and personally prefer the Caribbean. Hawaii, and the Volcanoes are definitely a bucket list item but for us we will take white sand, and blue water anyday.

I would not mind the Mediterranean or Transatlantic.
