I pulled off another link on my chain today.
Only 11 days until we leave for Florida

My FE was all done accept hot glueing the pockets on.
I was out of glue so Greg got me another Tube of it yesterday and brought home.
So last night I use it to put the pockets on. Well something was wrong with it. First it clogged up twice then shot out glue which had to be cleaned up, then it didnt stick

Its the same glue as i used an all the rest of the FE and it worked great with the material I used but it didnt stick at all this time. I guess we got a defective tube of glue?
Anyway you need to press with a oit iron with a towel in between the FE and the iron which I did and it worked great until last night. For some reason the towel deicded to stick to the corner material of the pockets on the front side where it can be seen.

So now i have 2 ruined pockets sitting there with towel stuck to the front corners of it?? So I need to pull off the corner material and redo them. I cleaned all the old non stick glue off the pockets and the FE too.
Tonight instead of hot glue I will use ordinary fabric glue and see if it will attach ok.
It is almost as strong as the hot glue stuff. If that doesn't work I have HOT pink duct tape, maybe I will use your guys idea of duct tape
Dont be surprized if its hot pink duct tape holding on my pockets on board. I am about to buy a Disney themed shopping bag to ue if anything else goes wrong.

I had something similar happen when I was making my FE. I bought these little bags at Michaels and cut the handles off, and the bags became my pockets on my FE. Well, Michael's was selling 3 bags for $1.00, and I only needed 4 bags, so I had to buy 2 packs of bags (and ended up with 6 bags). Well, the bags were a little wrinkled, so after I cut the handles off, I decided to iron the bags to flatten them out.
Well, I am
horrible with ironing... I consider myself domestic, but when it comes to ironing, I get a big fat
grade "F", so I don't buy clothes that need ironing (and if they are clothes that need ironing, they are dry clean only, so I just send them to the cleaners, then). And, DH generally wears nice button up long sleeve dress shirts to work which need ironing (not dry clean only), and he has learned to iron all of his own clothes that need ironing... he is a smart man!!!!
So, I go to iron this little bag, and
Whoops....

the iron was too hot, and as soon as I put the iron on the bag, literally, that part of the litle bag that the iron hit
completely disingrated in like 1 second!!!

So, then I had this huge hole now in this little bag, and completely melted fabric stuck to the bottom of my iron!

I just laughed because it's so typical of me! I was glad then that I had 2 extra bags!! So, I had to turn the iron off, let it cool down and scrape the melted bag off the bottom of the iron...

So, the other pockets that needed ironing, I put the iron on the lowest setting possible, and tested on one of the handles I cut off first to see how the heat was, and it worked! So, I figured it out and got them all ironed without disintegrating any more pockets, which truly was a miracle in itself knowing my ironing skills!
Kathy, I think a hot pink duct tape FE would be awesome!!! You could put black mickey ears on the top with a pink outline on the mickey ears, and make it kind of like a "minnie mouse" FE.
Well, will be super fun to see everyone's FE's. I'm so happy to be part of this FE exchange... I've always wanted to do it, but never have. On my previous cruises, I've always seen all the FEs hanging all over in the hallways and always wished I would have done it... so now we are doing it!

Seriously can't wait! Since DH doesn't write into the cruise meet (just doesn't have time at all to do it), he just hears about it (and all the super nice people on this board) from me. He is looking forward to meeting everyone, too, and is excited about the FE exchange, too!!
Take care,
Kathy
