Melissa,

Great pics, I especially like the ones where the kids are dressed up for formal night! Are those photos from Disney World or Disney Land? I'm sure the pros know just by sight, but I'm unsure. I'm thinking WDW b/c of the trees, but the Pooh statue I have never seen.

Melissa,

I LOVE your pictures!!!! You have a beautiful family! :) It's so funny because your son looks SOOOOO much like my closest friend's son, and seriously, I had to look twice when I saw him! :)

I absolutely love the formal/wedding pictures of your kids!! And, I think it's so cute how your daughter is kind of tilting her foot... that is really cute. :lovestruc

Your FE looks great.... you did a great job!! And, I saw you actually sewed it! That is way more effort than I made... I just used a glue gun. :rotfl2: I have this fear that mine is going to fall apart in the hallway, and I'll see pieces of FE scattered all over the hall. :rolleyes1 Hopefully that won't happen!

Where in Colorado are you from? My DH has a lot of family in Pueblo... so we visit there every couple years. His cousin used to live in Denver, so we have been there several times, too, but now everyone lives in Pueblo.

Thanks for posting pics! It's fun to see more faces... will be even more fun to meet everyone in person. :)

Kathy

Great pictures Melissa! Great FE too! We currently live in Michigan, but for 11 years we lived in Highlands Ranch CO. We really miss the mountains.

Kathy you're glue gun should be just fine... we haven't started ours yet, so at this point we may be using duct tape :)

We did find the magnetic printer paper at Office Max this weekend so we're starting to make some progress!

Melissa,

Awesome pictures. Your have a great looking family. Glad you got it all figured out how to post the photos. Now you can share more often.

I love seeing everyones photos. :goodvibes
Your Fe came out great!!

I still have to put the pockets on mine.

Michael,

Glad you found some magnetic paper. I love walking around the ship looking at everyones door signs. Kids actually come up with some really good ones too.

I spend one day away and there are 3 pages of reading material! So much but now I am just excited that our countdown chain is at 14days!!!

Awesome pictures, can't wait to meet you all face to face.

After a full day of work, I am off to get some sleep.

Happy Tuesday everyone:yay:

Wow i missed a lot yesterday, I will try and catch up!

Danielle, sorry about your excursion, that must be so upsetting.

Kathy (LTR) Yes i am orginally from England, i have been in the US for 16 1/2 years, and still people do not understand my name when i say it:confused3 My parents live near Portsmouth, just over an hour south of London, and my brother lives about 30 minutes outside of London.

Alyssa, Thanks for the late birthday wishes, glad your parents and sister will be going you (and us)!

Melissa, great pictures:thumbsup2

Ok think i am caught up:woohoo:

Check in again later, when my puppy isn't trying to help me type!

Great pics Melissa! How old are your kiddos again? The FE looks great!

Someone mentioned duct tape...I think I might throw that out to my DD, she is completely into duct tape crafting right now and has several rolls. I think that might be a good football watching project to do with her.

Good Morning
Great pictures Melissa... Duct tape too funny!!! I am going to try to work on my FE on Saturday. If it turns out OK I will put up a picture. I might be using duct tape as well at this point... Though they do come in different colors and patterns now!

Getting closer and my family is all sick. I think my Son is over it but we have all been hit with colds this last week.

We must feel better before the cruise. Hand sanitizer is currently our best friend!

I thought I wold post some fall pictures of our family.

Good morning, everyone,

I have a busy day today later on today, but this also means the cruise is even closer! Oh, I can't wait! :)

Today is also school pictures for the boys. :)

I hope everyone is doing well!! Things are good here! It's supposed to be really sunny and warm today. Yesterday it got up to 70.... that is so unheard of for this time of year! I think today is the same... :cool1:

Claire: I've been to London many times (I used to work for an organization that is in London, but I worked from home (obviously), but had to fly to London a few times a year)... but I haven't really been outside London, so not where you are from, but I have been to Bath... I visited there. :) I love London, though. :) My DH has been to London, and then Northern England for work, and he loves England as well. :)

Danielle: You know, a Duct Tape FE is actually a great idea!! Tanya mentioned they make all different colors and patterns now in duct tape... I bet your daughter could make a really cute Duct Tape FE out of different colors, patters! That's be neat, and definitely unique! If I hadn't already made mine, I actually might have experimented with that! :)

BT: GREAT pictures! Your kids are adorable. I also hope you all get over your colds... you will get over them before the cruise. There is enough time for the colds to run their course, and get out of everyone's system. You'll be all healthy and great for the cruise!

Take care,
Kathy

Good morning all,

BT, great pictures. Looks like your son is ready to chow down on all those apples. The one with the deer is very precious,:littleangel:

Claire,

I have a dog who thinks she can help me type too. She thinks she is a lap dog most of the time. 80 pounds is a BIG lap dog:lmao: I wind up typing with 1 finger when she sit in my lap.

I pulled off another link on my chain today.
Only 11 days until we leave for Florida:yay::yay:

My FE was all done accept hot glueing the pockets on.
I was out of glue so Greg got me another Tube of it yesterday and brought home.

So last night I use it to put the pockets on. Well something was wrong with it. First it clogged up twice then shot out glue which had to be cleaned up, then it didnt stick:confused3
Its the same glue as i used an all the rest of the FE and it worked great with the material I used but it didnt stick at all this time. I guess we got a defective tube of glue?
Anyway you need to press with a oit iron with a towel in between the FE and the iron which I did and it worked great until last night. For some reason the towel deicded to stick to the corner material of the pockets on the front side where it can be seen.:headache::headache:

So now i have 2 ruined pockets sitting there with towel stuck to the front corners of it?? So I need to pull off the corner material and redo them. I cleaned all the old non stick glue off the pockets and the FE too.
Tonight instead of hot glue I will use ordinary fabric glue and see if it will attach ok.
It is almost as strong as the hot glue stuff. If that doesn't work I have HOT pink duct tape, maybe I will use your guys idea of duct tape:lmao:

Dont be surprized if its hot pink duct tape holding on my pockets on board. I am about to buy a Disney themed shopping bag to ue if anything else goes wrong.:rotfl2:

Kathy

I had something similar happen when I was making my FE. I bought these little bags at Michaels and cut the handles off, and the bags became my pockets on my FE. Well, Michael's was selling 3 bags for $1.00, and I only needed 4 bags, so I had to buy 2 packs of bags (and ended up with 6 bags). Well, the bags were a little wrinkled, so after I cut the handles off, I decided to iron the bags to flatten them out.

Well, I am horrible with ironing... I consider myself domestic, but when it comes to ironing, I get a big fat grade "F", so I don't buy clothes that need ironing (and if they are clothes that need ironing, they are dry clean only, so I just send them to the cleaners, then). And, DH generally wears nice button up long sleeve dress shirts to work which need ironing (not dry clean only), and he has learned to iron all of his own clothes that need ironing... he is a smart man!!!! :rotfl2:

So, I go to iron this little bag, and Whoops.... :rolleyes1 the iron was too hot, and as soon as I put the iron on the bag, literally, that part of the litle bag that the iron hit completely disingrated in like 1 second!!! :scared1: :lmao::lmao::lmao: So, then I had this huge hole now in this little bag, and completely melted fabric stuck to the bottom of my iron! :rotfl2::rotfl2: I just laughed because it's so typical of me! I was glad then that I had 2 extra bags!! So, I had to turn the iron off, let it cool down and scrape the melted bag off the bottom of the iron... :rolleyes1:rolleyes1:lmao:

So, the other pockets that needed ironing, I put the iron on the lowest setting possible, and tested on one of the handles I cut off first to see how the heat was, and it worked! So, I figured it out and got them all ironed without disintegrating any more pockets, which truly was a miracle in itself knowing my ironing skills! :lmao: :thumbsup2

Kathy, I think a hot pink duct tape FE would be awesome!!! You could put black mickey ears on the top with a pink outline on the mickey ears, and make it kind of like a "minnie mouse" FE. :rotfl:

Well, will be super fun to see everyone's FE's. I'm so happy to be part of this FE exchange... I've always wanted to do it, but never have. On my previous cruises, I've always seen all the FEs hanging all over in the hallways and always wished I would have done it... so now we are doing it! :cheer2: Seriously can't wait! Since DH doesn't write into the cruise meet (just doesn't have time at all to do it), he just hears about it (and all the super nice people on this board) from me. He is looking forward to meeting everyone, too, and is excited about the FE exchange, too!!

Take care,
Kathy

Hi everyone,

Ok, I have a question of the day:

Besides the Caribbean Disney cruises, if money or time was not an object, what Disney Cruise itinerary would you want to most do??

Right now, the options are:

7-day Mexican Riviera
14-day Hawaii cruise (LA -> Hawaii and back) -- offered twice in 2012
7-day Alaska
5 or 7 day Pacific respositioning cruise (Vancouver -> LA fall, and LA-> Vancouver end of spring)
3,4 or 5 day Bahamas
IF offered in 2013, the Mediterranian cruises (7, 10, and 12 days)
14 day Transatlantic cruise (if offered in 2013)

And, what is your main decing factor for your choice... is it the ship that offers this itinerary, the ports, the amount of days gone, the amount of sea days offered....??

Ok, here's my answers:

I would LOVE to do the Transatlantic cruise... crossing the ocean sounds SO SO awesome to me. :) I would also love to do the Hawaiian cruise, too! Again, just being in the ocean for so long sounds so much fun. Also, would love to do a Medeterranian cruise.

My main deciding factor (and DH and kids are the same) is both the length and the sea days! We love sea days, and we love longer cruises that do more unique routes...

For the Med cruise, there aren't many sea days, but we would love to see that part of the world, so touring the Med on a Disney ship would be awesome!

As for ships, we really prefer the smaller ships (Magic and Wonder). Haven't been on the Dream. And, at this point, don't have a huge desire to go on the Dream or the Fantasy.. maybe in a couple years when the newness is done and over and some of the kinks are worked out. But, I just love the classic ships... the Magic and Wonder are beautiful great ships!!!!

Now, will we ever do these cruises??? unless they offered the Hawaii or Transatlantic during school vacations, probably won't be able to do those... they offer them at the worst time of the year to pull the kids out of school. So, that is a bummer.

The Med... if they offer it in 2013 in the summer, time of year-wise, it works, but it'd depend on price. So, if they do offer the Med in 2013, and the price is right for us, I realistically can see us booking that. We'll see!!!

I forgot this morning to say,

Everyone who is doing the FE

if your interested I have the FE list done in a great spreadsheet that Karen sent me. Thank you Karen:goodvibes

It has everyone listed by decks so its much easier to make sure you get everyone on each deck, without jumping back and forth on the original list to find everyone on deck 2 then deck 4 and 5 etc...

If anyone wants a copy of this spread sheet please contact me and I will gladly send you a copy.

Kathy

14 day TA cruise would be my first choice. We actually had it book for last September but had to cancel. The cruise is actually cheap but the airfare to get to Barcelona is spendy, plus unless you arrive a couple days early you wont have time to explore Barcelona since the ship leaves the day you board her in Barceloa. So we need about 17 or 18 days to do it right. I would fly there and cruise back. Not cruise from here and fly back.

2nd choice would be the Hawaiian cruise. Not really crazy about Hawaii but love all the days on the ship. But I think that one may be out of my price range unless they do it for 2 or 3 years for me to save up for it.

YES PLEASE!! I was trying to do it myself but got sidetracked and haven't had a chance to try again. Thank you Karen!! :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear about the glue problems with your FE, that stinks.

I think I am going to try the duct tape. Isabella does have hot pink & white, plus some patters and I think we could really do this! And i have some mickey head decals in white that I'm not using for the door magnets. I am getting really excited to try this!

And our excursion was officially canceled. She said she'll give us our deposit back. I contacted the one Switzert & family are going on. Hopefully that will work out. I'll be super disappointed if we don't get a snorkeling trip in.
