November 5th 2011 Eastern on the Magic

Our cruise docs came today!!!   The cruise seems so close now!
We have very happy memories of the Polynesian-it was our first to WDW and our daughter was only five-she loved watching the Electrical Parade outside our building every night.
I'm looking forward to dinner at Palo-the souffle sounds wonderful! And drinking a martini in the piano bar... :)
Have a wonderful weekend everyone! We are babysitting our 14 month old grandson while our daughter and her husband are in a good friend's wedding. He is alot of fun!

Thanks for the document info! Now I won't be surprised when they come! Yes, we might not be able to get off the ship in St Maarten, but no biggie. DH and I cruised to Aruba & curaçao, were able to get on & off no problem. Expensive to get them for all 4 of us, especially since it might be our only trip for a looooong time

i just sent out a revised list to everyone.
I missed Tim but sent him a PM abut it.
I don't think i missed anyone else??

If you didn't get a list please let me know and I will get you one sent ASAP!

Be sure and double check the FE list if your participating. Many names have been added. Looks like a great excited group. I think we are going to have a lot of fun and unique gifts this cruise.:goodvibes

All right, we got our documents too! Seems everyone is getting psyched.

Tanya (flygrl), I noticed you and you sister are the same age. Are you twins? Plus I think you mentioned earlier they are in Switzerland or maybe Sweden (one of those Sw countries . . . ) how'd that happen? Was she originally Canadian or were you originally from Europe?

Kristi (NC2WDW) I was thinking maybe Peter and Kole could get together sometime before the cruise so they'd have someone to hang out with. PM us if you are interested, maybe we could meet at the Greensboro Science Center if that would be convenient or somewhere else.

Enjoy your weekend everyone,

Scott

We got our docs to day, and so did the couple going with us. My DD was so excited...

I am looking forward to the seafood. I make my money back on lobster alone! DD is looking forward to Steak... well... and Mac n Cheese.... Everything food ends in Mac and cheese.

I think we maybe over doing the FE gifts. I buy a dozen of this a dozen of that. Order this and Order that now the box I had is full. Oh well, it fun and my DD likes shopping for it.

DW is at her College's graduation. So me and DD are going to Billy Bob's Wonderland (equivalent to Chucky Cheese). Fun, Fun Fun!!! :rotfl::woohoo:

Here is a practical question for everyone. If we go off on our own on an island, does Disney provide beach towels or do we have to bring our own?

At the risk of sounding like a total idiot, do I have to do something to get cruise documents?? I have a registration and email confirmation.....do I need something else? I did most of the online check in but did not book my rental car yet. They want that info on the check in. We also opted not to get passports...since it is a closed loop we don't need them. So I do have to do some kind of check in at the port.
Sorry all, I'm a newbie and really appreciate your wisdom!
Michele:goodvibes:

I would double check what birth certificate form you need. We have had problems with DH's birth certificate twice now. The first time we were flying to Barbados and our airline wouldn't check us in b/c she said he didn't have the right type of birth certificate. We fortunately had a couple hours until our flight and high tailed it from Phila to Camden Amazing Race style, on the phone, swerving in & out of traffic, to get the correct copy of DH's birth certificate. We made our flight! Then this time when we got our passports, he was denied b/c they just changed the laws (this past April) to require the long form birth certificate. I don't know if it will be the same when you get to port, so I would call to check before you go.

No cruise documents today, but we did get my daughters passport. Even with the ssn screw up, it only took 13 days to get here:woohoo: I just feel more comfortable having passports with us, just incase of an emergency!

That's great! Must be a huge relief!! Did you have them expedited? That seems so fast!

Kathy LTR-Glad to hear your DH will be home safe & sound. I don't know about you, but that 2 weeks went by fast! :rotfl:

Food we are looking forward to...DD cannot wait for her Mickey Mouse Ice Creams. We told her to bring her own money to tip room service ;) And she said she'll take a nap so she can stay up for the Midnight dessert buffet! LOL! I can't wait to try the cheese plate on the verandah with a glass of wine. These souflee's aslo sound fantastic! DH has nothing specific, he really wants to try Palo, had me book dinner & brunch.

Tim,
I sent you a PM today, please check our PM box,
thanks Kathy

Here is a practical question for everyone. If we go off on our own on an island, does Disney provide beach towels or do we have to bring our own?

Usually they are provided for people on their excursion and given out at the meeting sight. How ever sometimes I have seen a stack of them just off the shi pin case someone forgot them. You could grab one then. If they still do that.

I think some just take towels from the pool area and return them to the pool towel return boxes when they are taking a non Disney excursion.
If you take towels from your room the room host will wonder what happened to them. They clean all the rooms while your gone for the day.

I would like to make autograph books for my kids. Does anyone know which characters are on the ship? I would only want to put in pages for ones they could see onboard. I love having you all to ask all these questions! :grouphug:
Thanks,
Michele

All of the Princeses, and the Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip & Dale. Possibly Mary Poppins and Wendy.

MY DW traded my services. She had me reload a friend of ours computer. In exchange this retired home EC teacher helper her make this FE.

I was also in charge of printing Magnets, and print onto some inkjet fabric that irons on.... Whoever would have thought Magnets, and Fabric that goes into an inkjet! Hmmm! Just doesn't sound right.

The totes, FE, and the Apron turned out well. Here is a photo of the FE and on of my DD favorite magnets.

It looks like we should be fine...we have the raised seal birth certs. If anyone is interested this is what I found:

U.S. citizens on closed-loop cruises (cruises that begin and end at the same port in the U.S.) will be able to enter or depart the country with proof of citizenship, such as a government-issued birth certificate and laminated government issued picture ID, denoting photo, name and date of birth. A U.S. citizen under the age of 16 will be able to present either an original or notarized or certified copy of his or her birth certificate, a Consular Report of Birth Abroad issues by DOS, or Certificate of Naturalization issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Been off the boards for several months. Even though we live about 30 miles from the Jersey shore we just missed getting creamed by Hurricane Irene. We had 3 of the 5 levees around us fail. We had water miss us by 1 foot from the garage while houses at the end of block had 4 to 5 feet of water in their living space. Just as we were finishing helping get people back on their feet, we got a call from a friend in Fla, we had a pipe burst in the downstairs bathroom in our townhouse. Spent the last 2 weeks helping repair, and paint.

I CAN'T wait for the cruise.

Favorite Disney character - Me (Phil) Scrooge. -I am a CPA and love money

Phil

Hi Phil,

Glad to hear you and Mary Jo are ok. Sounds like you had a pretty close call with the flooding.
Your docs should arrive soon, people here have just started getting them the last 2 days.:goodvibes
Now that your back I hope you will be able to post more often.

Kathy

Good night all,

catch you all over the weekend. I expect more of you will be posting tomorrow that your documents have arrived:woohoo::woohoo:

Kathy

Jai is now officially doing the Magic Cruise doc dance whilst her husband is giving her a side eye:dancer:

And now back to your regularly scheduled programming:rotfl:

How can I get a copy of your DD favorite magnets. Our DD works at WDW and is "very close friend" of all of the Princesses. She would love to show it to all of her friends.

You can just right click the image and click save image as..
This will allow you to save it to your computer and from there you can print, email it to your DD or whatever. I found it by googling images of disney princesses images.

Would you care to join me on a cruise NEXT MONTH!?!?!?!?!

:woohoo::dance3::yay::banana:pirate::cheer2:

I can't believe it's so close! Hopefully our TA has our docs and has expedited them down towards Texas!
