November 30th... let's try again

Anyone else traveling with us? I can't believe we are almost 3 months away from the a trip that we booked in February. How long ago did all of you book?

We booked on New Year's Eve. That was the earliest we could book using our DVC points.

We booked in early April. And can you believe tomorrow? It will be the 100 day mark!!!!!!! OMGosh, I'm getting so excited. Even DH is getting a little bit excited.

Can't wait. We are in a cat 6 on deck 7. Will have to ask hubby if he wants to host the poker game. Oh, this is going to be so much fun!!!

Yesterday (Tues) was the 100day mark for us. We head to the airport on turkey day. Today we are in double digits.
My work calendar on my desk has it all marked in months (not too many), weeks and days (it's getting better).

Am I crazy to think that our kids may fall asleep at night in the lab/club? Their normal bedtime is 8:00 p.m., however, at the cottage (or on vacation) 9:00 - 9:30 is not unusual. For any of you who have been on a Disney cruise before, did your kids fall asleep, to be picked up around 11:00 and carried back to the cabin? For any of you who haven't been before, do you plan on doing this?

Hey everyone,
I was thinking...after a long day I think Matt will be ready for a nap. (he is a napper) I will let him relax in the cabin 4 or 5 pm
if he falls asleep great if not he will rest up for dinner. We could only confirm late dinner. Then we will let him eat with us if he gets jumpy before we have finished I'll run him up? or down? to the club. I think with such a late nap he will be hanging out till 10 or so.
From what I can tell it looks like they hang out and watch a movie later in the evening. If he falls asleep we will CAREFULLY bring him back to the room. (If he wakes up we will be sunk!) I'm planning on making sure he is in VERY comfy clothes in the PM so if we have to put him to bed from the club he will be ok. I'll just stop by the cabin and change him before I take him to the club.
Laurie:cool:

That seems to make sense. My kids need naps, but sometimes it is difficult to get them to nap. But, I am thinking that they will be so tired from all the activity, that it might work. The problem that we have is that we are on the early seating, which I keep reading is on trial for a while, starting at 5:30? I would never have booked the early dinner had I known it would start at 5:30.... that is crazy!
I guess I better bring a couple of good books to read on the Veranda while the kids nap, cause I think that is the way we will be going.

The trial will be over for our cruise. We will be 6pm and 8:30.
That will give you a bit more time! I hope for you the times stay late...as for me 7:45 would be perfect!

That is good that the early dinner will be 6:00 p.m. In some ways, you have a good time too. You can feed Matthew at the buffet, put him in the club, then go have an adult dinner. That might be kinda nice (as long as he likes the club)! haha

He will eat dinner with us in the dining room. I am big on us eating together. It comes from my child hood. (I might need counseling LOL) Ill get him his dinner with our apps.If he is good he can hang with us if he seems bored and finishes up before us I'll make a mad dash to the club. I have already told him if he goes to "school" at least once a day he will get a surprise from Mickey on the last day. If he doesnt like the club......I will have to rethink my WHOLE vacation. He isnt shy by any means but he needs to warm up. L

I too was brought up that we always eat together as a family. Because of that, I am glad that we have the early seating, and you are right, that they can always be taken to the club during dessert, if they get restless.
My kids are very strange, because they prefer adult food to kids food. I will probably be ordering shrimp, steak and lobster for them, rather than hotdogs and grilled cheese. Oh well, I guess I get their leftovers!!!! yummy, extra lobster for me!

My kids are also big "adult-food" eaters. In fact, on our last cruise our server stopped giving DD(then7) a children's menu because she never even looked at it! One day we ate lunch at Lumiere's and had a different server. As he handed DD a children's menu our server came over and reprimanded him saying "Can't you see the young lady needs the adult menu?" :D

She is really looking forward to 11/30.

My DD (5.5) would love if that happened! She is so proud of the fact that she loves calamari, sushi, feta cheese, etc., it would make her day.
My kids are so excited about the cruise too. But, since we booked in the winter, and I have been talking about it non-stop, they probably don't even believe me anymore that we actually going.

I want to make sure that we get a Palos dinner, Palos brunch, surial bath (wink wink), massage at Castaway Cay. I am planning so much, trying to figure out when is the best day/time for everything. Am I crazy? (I have a feeling I have asked the wrong group)... haha

We're planning on hopefully getting Palos dinner, Palos brunch, Palos high tea and the sureal bath (Michelle at least we wont need to worry about clothes here - lol) And they all depend on which dinner rotation we get

So yes we are all crazy - well at least you and me - lol

Oh no! Another thing to plan. I started figuring out the rotations today. I so far have only figured out the APL rotation (I hear that with small children, this is probably what I will get).

and when planning Palos brunch you dont want that on the morn of the char brkfst and if possible you want Palos on 3 different days -- and then you have to figure out what clothes your entire family will wear to which restaurant

is your budget written out yet?

Okay, I am not sure that I like you anymore... you are stressing me out. lol
Budget isn't done yet, but I don't think we need to do it. We are not big collectors, so we won't buy any (or few) souvenirs, we don't mind spending money on wine (in fact we like it) ;) and we aren't going to do any excusions (kids are too young and we plan on just beaching and shopping in port). We only take one big trip per year (other than going to the cottage in the summer), so we don't mind spending money, and don't really stress about that. But.... LAP, PAL, APL.... what to do....

Since we don't have any children, we have it much easier than you guys. (not rubbing it in at all ;)) The only thing we (I) really want are the Palo dinner and Suriel Bath ressies. I'm not to concerned with the time or day. I'm even considering not leaving the boat on the St Maartin day. I'm too worried about getting too worked up so I'm trying not to get excited about a specific day or time. I don't want to be disappointed when I get there and find out that 6:30 pm Thursday is already taken. I'm leaving myself open to as many options as possible.

We (I) plan on buying quite a few souvies in the way of pins. I'm a pin addict and will be buying/trading pins as long as DH allows me to. I'm also a scrapbooker at heart and plan on taking several hundred photos. I have a digital and love to take different angle shots. Last September when I went to WDW for 4 days, I took over 600 photos. Of course, I didn't print them all but it was so much fun to go through them and pick out the ones I like best.

Wow, didn't mean this to be such a long post. But oh well. We are looking forward to getting together on the boat. Oh and by the way, if you didn't notice, we are now in the double digits. Yeah!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

We are going too!!! DD (5 years old) looking for a friend to meet up with. We just booked a couple of weeks ago...How many more days left? :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc
