Hey There Everyone (action item at the end of this long note)
Its been a long time since I logged in here, been hanging out on the FB page. I clearly understand that not everyone wants to be on the FB page and thats perfectly ok. On my last cruise I help organize a group photo and have volunteered to do it again. Let me give you a snapshot of how it worked .snapshot
Last year we had a group photo taken by Shutters staff. At the beginning of the cruise we spoke to the Shutters manager asking if we could get a group photo taken. She needed sometime to figure out when/where works best. She went away to reviewed her staff schedule, the ships schedule and most likely a few other schedules that we know nothing about. Basically we were dependent on Shutters to pick the time/location rather than our group dictating the when/where.
She came back to me a few hours later and said they were pleased to do this, according to all schedules including the ships the optimal time was just prior to coming alongside at Castaway Cay. We were to meet in the atrium by the main staircase which didn't interfere with any other DCL activities. Im not saying this will be the day/time/location. I dont know what it will be most likely till we set sail in 3 weeks 3 days 5 hours 41 minutes.
Once that was in place we than spoke to guest services asking how could spread the news to the rest of the group, a key to the success of this, letting everyone know the time/location. They told us to write up a notice (short paragraph) and provide a list of the cabins involved. They would take our note put it on DCL stationary and deliver them using the cabin list provided the night before.
The notices were done up nice and delivered as promised. There were two photographers, one was getting all of us organized on the main lobby stairs while the other took the photos from one deck up by the elevators. The photos were associated with my cabin, I picked out the best one and emailed to the rest of the group after the cruise. In all this was a very good experience, the DCL staff at shutters and Guest services couldn't have been any better.
So I need to have everyones cabin number & party size (cabin 8434, party of 3) I already have this info for the folks on the Facebook page. I dont have this info for those who only handout on the DISboards. Is there a list being maintained by someone here with that info? If there is thats great!
If not is there someone with some time who can volunteer to create such a list please? Im working a ton right now leading up to the cruise and just dont have any spare time, I know Im not the only one in this position. Perhaps there is a stay at home Mom/Dad that can take this job on over the next couple of weeks. If there is someone who can help out send me a PM and we can figure things out via email.
