Hello Everyone!! DH and I booked this cruise a couple of weeks ago while we were on the Dream. I'm so excited!! We have never been to San Juan so we had to do this one. What makes it even better is that the 3rd is my birthday!!

We just got off the Disney Dream today and booked the Fantasy for 11/3/2012! Can't wait to be there! The wait is pretty long though, I sure hope it goes by fast. Can't wait to stop at Puerto Rico and book excursions.

I'm hoping to do fish extenders, is the list closed already? This cruise will consist on myself, DH and my dad.

There isn't an FE list yet that I am aware...still early days I guess! It will pick up after the holidays is my bet. That one-year mark is usually a good benchmark!!!

Hi Everyone!!!

I am new to the cruise boards and DCL. This will be our first Disney cruise, our first cruise with our children, and our 6th cruise overall (the rest were all couples only on Royal Caribbean). I'm jumping for joy as I realize there is also a huge DCL community as there is on the theme park boards, I hope to make new friends! We have myself, Erin, my DH, Bret, DS 13 Josh, DS 10 Caleb, DD 8 Josie, and my mom, Barb. We have 2 oceanview deluxe family cabins and DH and I are hoping Grandma wants them all in her room (just kidding). Here are a few thought and questions if anyone has time.... or maybe you know a place for me to answer these somewhere else...

1. FE's: wow, this is cool and interesting as I have finally figured out what they are and that people make gifts for fellow Disers - wow! Is there an official list before we go so we know how many things to get, and where to deliver them or do we just look for the FE's, do the items have to have everyone's names on them? I think we can figure out how to make the FE itself - grandma sews a lot.

2. Dis meets - do we get together?

3. Dining rotation - we can pick this? Or is it assigned, we have first dining. If we can choose, is there a 'dis' recommendation?

We are staying at POR the night before, I need a short WDW fix! It is my big 40 birthday cruise, so I'm really excited!!! (not to be 40, but for the cruise!) I know it's a little more, but we are using Disney transfers to the port.

I think that's it, thanks for the info if you have time - I am so happy to realize there is a thread to organize all of this! I have tried to meet other Disers in WDW, worn my t-shirts, green mickey heads on my bags, etc. with no luck! Is there really other Disney obsessed people out there like me??????

Hi Erin! !! Glad you joined the cruise!
To answer your questions:
1.-FEs: There will be a list generated with all the participants listed and their locations. Usually, the group sets a "final date" for joining because some people make their FEs and need to have a total. As to names, are you asking if it has to have your name or their name? It's all up to you! I usually put a sticker that says Nanatink & Sulley on the baggy. I don't put each participants name on them, though many do. It's a matter of preference.

2.DIS Meets: On the cruises I have been with other DISers, there is usually a big meet on embarkation day before the lifeboat station drill. then there might be others during the cruise....very fluid and open.

3. Dining Rotation: That is usually assigned. I do know that some people have apparently cracked the code to getting their choices, I have never tried because I'm fine with whatever. We have second dining. As this will be the first cruise we have on the Fantasy, I don't have a favorite restaurant, really. Well, there is Palo's and Remy's on the Dream was fantastic, but that's about it!

Yes, there are a lot of Disney-obsessed people. I find it hard to really meet up in the parks...I don't 'see' others while I'm there, especially if I'm with my family. I find it works better for me to set up a meet BEFORE I go, otherwise, it won't happen! On the ship....I'm pretty much one of three places, Poolside (adult) with a book and a FAB, in Cove Cafe with a book and a cup of tea or coffee, or on my verandah with a book....yeah, I read A LOT on board!

Hello Everyone,

It has been quite a while since I have posted, but I have kept up to date. Looks like this is going to be a great cruise. Unfortunately the reason why I haven't been posting is because I was pretty sure we were going to have to back out of this cruise. My wife's cousin will be getting married next summer in Phoenix, so we decided to do a 2 week vacation out west which will include DL and The Grand Canyon. Plus we just found out this past weekend that my brother-in-law will also be getting married next year in October. His wedding will be in Florida, so looks like we'll have to include a stop WDW for that trip. Have a great cruise!!!!!!!!

Welcome! Erin, personally I found the DISers on the cruise boards to be especially friendly and engaging! From our Dream group this spring, I have developed friendships that I know will endure even across continents! We have at lease one (possibly) two families cruising again together on this November cruise!
