Hi everyone, well we have finally booked this cruise, after many months of decisions - travelling from Melbourne Australia, will be me (just past 40), DH (just a bit over 40 too) and DD (8 - when on cruise). We are very excited, this will be mine and DD's third cruise and DH's second. We look forward to the FE and the new ship

Just a idea...........and I have no talant art wise..............maybe we could come up with a logo for the cruise.....*OUR CRUISE*..........set up a place to make some?.Tshirts?..........

Maybe see if we could get 2 or 3 or so design possibilities?....vote on the best one for the Tshirts?

I think that's an awesome idea! First things first, though. We need to come up with a name/theme for the cruise....anyone got any good ideas on that front?

Hi Erin! !! Glad you joined the cruise!
To answer your questions:
1.-FEs: There will be a list generated with all the participants listed and their locations. Usually, the group sets a "final date" for joining because some people make their FEs and need to have a total. As to names, are you asking if it has to have your name or their name? It's all up to you! I usually put a sticker that says Nanatink & Sulley on the baggy. I don't put each participants name on them, though many do. It's a matter of preference.

2.DIS Meets: On the cruises I have been with other DISers, there is usually a big meet on embarkation day before the lifeboat station drill. then there might be others during the cruise....very fluid and open.

3. Dining Rotation: That is usually assigned. I do know that some people have apparently cracked the code to getting their choices, I have never tried because I'm fine with whatever. We have second dining. As this will be the first cruise we have on the Fantasy, I don't have a favorite restaurant, really. Well, there is Palo's and Remy's on the Dream was fantastic, but that's about it!

Yes, there are a lot of Disney-obsessed people. I find it hard to really meet up in the parks...I don't 'see' others while I'm there, especially if I'm with my family. I find it works better for me to set up a meet BEFORE I go, otherwise, it won't happen! On the ship....I'm pretty much one of three places, Poolside (adult) with a book and a FAB, in Cove Cafe with a book and a cup of tea or coffee, or on my verandah with a book....yeah, I read A LOT on board!

Hello Everyone,

It has been quite a while since I have posted, but I have kept up to date. Looks like this is going to be a great cruise. Unfortunately the reason why I haven't been posting is because I was pretty sure we were going to have to back out of this cruise. My wife's cousin will be getting married next summer in Phoenix, so we decided to do a 2 week vacation out west which will include DL and The Grand Canyon. Plus we just found out this past weekend that my brother-in-law will also be getting married next year in October. His wedding will be in Florida, so looks like we'll have to include a stop WDW for that trip. Have a great cruise!!!!!!!!

Oh, I hate to hear that you won't be joining us!! Sounds like a busy 2012 for you, though!!

As the ONE YEAR mark approaches I'm getting really excited!

What are you guys doing with your time right now (DON'T SAY PLANNING A SOONER CRUISE!)

We are :
1. pondering whether to stay at MCO or the port the night before--leaning on the latter.
2. squirreling away money
3. becoming obsessed with 2013 magic/wonder speculationsh
4. trying really hard to squeeze in a last minute WDW trip --wait that's in direct conflict with #2!

We'll be staying at the Radisson at the Port. SOOOOOO close to the ship!! Join us!!

I'm just trying to get my life together at this point. We're nuts around here for some reason. I'm hoping that after the holidays, I can really buckle down and get this cruise planned.

Do we want to get lanyards?? We've had them on our last 2 cruises, and they were awesome.

T-shirts - once we get a design, do we want to print our own or have them printed as a group? If we get them done as a group, it may be difficult to find a logo that we can have done 'legally' since I'm quite sure that all of us would like to have a Disney design on there.



We set sail 52 weeks from tomorrow .... but my family heads down to the port 52 weeks from today (unless I can manage to get my dh to take off earlier .... wonder if I can make that work .... ).



I will be more diligent about checking the thread from now on. Sorry about being gone. Life gets in the way sometimes!

Certainly works for me!!! My dh send me an email each day from work. The first line always says "Today is <date>. We have <weeks> and <days> before we sail."





For our last cruise, a chat room was set up for the adults. We were able to use that time to get to know each other, make plans, and have connections before we got to the port. Some of us still chat (it's been about 2.5 years now). I can set us up a chat room when/if we would like to start that for this cruise. Please let me know who might be interested. It will be a *private* chat room ... just for us.


Also, we have a pretty large number of kids sailing, and I can set up a room for them as well. That chat would be *strictly* moderated by parents. Let me know if your kids would be interested in that, as well.

Just got back from the magic redirect eastern cruise and book for this date cat8c dw and ds(will be 15 on bon vayage date)so excited!!!!

Cruise was great weather was fantastic st martin 85, tortola 85 and castaway cay 80 all 3 sea day 80-85 escaped new york just in time last saturday just before it snowed we loved the eastern so much plus my wife wants to see purto rico so we got agreat deal cheaper for this room the the inside cabin we stayed in this year might upgrade later on if availble

First of all you pm me with all your info (names, kids DD or DS ages, stateroom #, and email) You get a fe to hang on your stateroom door. You can make one or buy one on eBay for example. The stuff you put in it whatever you want. Small trinkets from Disney, or from your home town. Whatever you want. Some people make things. Bookmarks of where we are going, candy, pencils of the cruise, personalized bags, toys, books, or whatever you can think of. Its up to you. I will give a list of the people who are doing the exchange when we are close to the cruise and when we are on the cruise you pass what what you got out. Its up to you as to when you want to do it. You end up getting mail thru out the entire cruise. If you have any more questions please just ask.
