November 3, 2012 Disney Magic

I think I've convinced my husband to go to Galveston (only 30mins from us) on Saturday to wish the Magic off on her 1st voyage from Tx. I'm noy crazy enough to go down there early in the morning to welcome her. I'm already having to bribe him with the shrimp festival to go in the afternoon.

Imedley200- I'm a TA and our agency is hosting a sail away event for the Magic on Saturday- shoot me a PM if you are interested in coming. :)

Thanks for the well wishes! It was a long day but he is finally resting comfortably. If the Dr.s had given me a bit more warning about what to expect the ER trip would not have been necessary. Nothing was wrong, they basically told us everything was normal! But we would rather show up at the hospital for nothing than stay home and it is something. And the surgeon said he will be good to go swimming for the cruise!

I am happy to hear your good news!! Your right, it's better to be safe than sorry. Sending Pixie Dust your way for a speedy recovery.

Hello fellow cruisers! I'm excited to read some of your posts! We just made our reservation a couple of weeks ago and are so excited! We're cruise virgins!
'we' consists of me, husband & son (13)!
Is the Fish Extender list still open?
:welcome: to the group!! We are excited to have you.

Does everyone in our FE group drink (21yr old + of course)? I'm trying to think of some adult ideas. I'm 2 crafts done and a couple more to go. I'm just trying to figure out which ones I'm going to try to make (my sewing machine and I are bonding).

We're getting excited, or at least I am! My husband and parents are letting me do all the research and planning. So far I've booked a Palo brunch, Snorkel trip with Native Ways in Grand Cayman and reserved our chairs at Tropicante in Costa Maya. Still debating our adventure in Cozumel...

Have a great week y'all :)

Sometimes Rebecca and I enjoy a glass of white wine.

I didn't run it. :( It was pouring rain here when I woke up so I didn't go. It actually rained all day yesterday. I cant complain though, we really needed it. I wish I could have raised more money but am glad I did anything.

I am sorry you were rained out. :sad2: It was the thought that counted. Your plants and trees are happy.

Yes, we do. :goodvibes We are looking forward to a few glasses on the veranda.

Yeah, at that point I figured they had my registration money, they could keep the tee-shirt, and I wouldn't ruin my good shoes. lol

For everyone new :welcome:

Still time to join the FE group. :cool1:

Man we have had a lot of people join! Good to see!

We are going to be dressing up for pirate night. The kids are easy I found a pink pirate costume for my oldest and my youngest is going to be Izzy from jake and the neverland pirates. Adult costumes are more expensive and many of the ladies' costumes just arent appropriate. All the Halloween stores open up last weekend so the search begins ;)

I am making pirate shirts for the kids and I ordered Jon a shirt but that's about all we are going to do. I will probably add some pirate accessories for the kids! :)

I think I'm just going to make T-shirts and try to make pirate Mickey ears for myself. Husband will definitely not dress up anymore than that - he's a party pooper. I looked at costumes just too see how much we'd spend but it's not worth it and some are definitely not family friendly. I'll probably hit up Target the day after Halloween and see if there's anything left on clearance.

I am going to see if I can find a costume at a low price. If not, we are going for the pirate t-shirts.

Awesome! We are up to 12, cabins! Here is the link to my post with the list.

We still need room numbers from most people. If you have them please post them.

We have two rooms and I will post the numbers as soon as I get a chance to look them up! :) I am worried that 5 pockets is too much weight. Should I hang the 4 kids on one and Jon and I on the other? Connecting rooms!

Yes, we are in for FE! Could someone explain exactly how it works for me though? I've not cruised before! Do we do something every day? Do you put names on things? What info about us do you need?

Most people deliver one gift during the cruise. You can do a gift for each person or a gift for the stateroom. Some people give gifts twice but that is their choice. You can deliver the gifts at anytime during the week. You can put your name on the gifts if you wish, but I think more people leave names off than put them on.

For those who may need some inspiration-here are two threads with examples of gifts. Some people go all out and make extravagant things or give multiple gifts per person. THIS IS NOT EXPECTED! No gift is too small! I know I don't have the time or money to be making 3 or 4 gifts per person!

I cant wait to make mine!

Here is the link to the "All Things Galveston" thread.

Lots of good info for those who are not familiar with the area or may be coming in a day or so early. I know it was mentioned earlier in the thread but the 1st-4th is the Lone Star Rally and traffic is expected so make sure you give yourself extra time if driving! Also if anyone has made parking reservations with Galveston Park n Cruise they have canceled all Disney and Princess cruise reservations!!! I guess they are only keeping Carnival and Royal Caribbean customers. :sad2:
