This is our 5th Disney cruise, and the first that we don't have to deal with the airport! Hello Galveston. We have done the fish extender trade on the last 2 cruises and would like to start a list for this cruise. Stateroom 6038. We have 3 boys 12, 10, & 7. The 7 year old turns 8 on the 3rd. Sail away birthday party!

Hi! So happy to see someone that is also on our cruise! This is our first cruise ever and we are very excited! We are bringing our 4 youngest kids DD11, DD9(special needs), DS5 and DD3. I have been reading all the forums and have picked up tons of tips! I think FEs are too much for us the first time around, but i am making lots of magnets and shirts! If you have any tips for us about the cruise, we would greatly appreciate it!

Hi! You and your family are going to LOVE this Disney cruise! It sounds like you have done your homework by reading other's posts, tips, reviews and suggestions. You have plenty of time to consider joining the FE list. Your kids would be thrilled with the goodies they will be given. It is so much fun!

Hi! This is my first message, first thread, first everything and I'm trying to get it all figured out. How do I find "my group" for the fish extender? How many things do I make for gifts? We will be on this cruise Nov.3. Appreciate any advice from seasoned Disney Cruisers!

Welcome, you have found the "group"! This thread is how it all gets started. You can read all sorts of great info here and other websites. It is so exciting to read and plan using experience from others. We are not pros by any means, but we did want to get a list started since it is so much fun. We kept checking and looking trying to find "our group" too. We will start a group list for our Nov. 3 cruise. Reply with stateroom# and participants to be included on the FE list. As people join and as our cruise date gets closer, the list will close. (Oct. 6 would be 4 weeks out) At that time you will be able to plan and know exactly who you will exchange FE gifts with from our list. Some people will order things, some personalize items and some handmade things can become very creative. I'm glad you will be joining in the fun!

Hi Kittyhawk77! We are still deciding on doing the FE. I mentioned it to DH last night and got the "are you insane look!" and the eye roll! Since this is our first cruise I am not sure how it works exactly. Do we give one gift on one day or gifts every day?

Hello Nov.3 Magic Cruisers!
We do one gift on one day. However, we have received more than one from the same family throughout the cruise. Our last cruise we were given several gift "goodie bags" with several items packaged together. That was different than the first time we participated. It is all up to you. I think most lists suggest giving every participant on the list at least one gift at some point during the cruise. Otherwise it is up to you.

Bonifay5 can i ask another FE question? Are the gifts just for kids or are adults included? How many people are usually on the list? I am trying to plan what I am going to make. I know it is pretty early but once school starts on 8/15 i will have limited time because of all the homework issues. I also need to order some things from ebay sellers overseas and need time for stuff to arrive. How wide can the FE be? Sorry I am such a newbie! Thank you!

Just learned about "Fish Extender" from a friend last week and she said that her girls LOVE doing it! We definitely want to participate! For new cruisers I would recommend going on Pinterest and Etsy. You can buy super cute Fish Extenders that are monogrammed (if you don't have time to make one yourself!) The parents can do a pocket in their extender also if you want to. I think I'm going to have a 3-pocket made. I'll share one with my husband and give each of the kids their own.

So someone please remind me how I can sign up for one of these groups. I'm not sure I just want to post my stateroom # on here for the world to see (is there another way?)

Hi! I am also on the Nov 3 cruise out of Galveston! ( YEA no airfare!) I have done FE before--not sure if I am going to do it this time!

Hi Everyone! Just wondering how most people travel to Galveston. I see that the airport in Galveston doesn't have airlines. It's for private and charter jets only (and, ahem...mine's in the shop ) so I will be flying into Houston it looks like? The only thing is, it's something like a two hour drive from Houston to Galveston....

Wondering if there is any kind of shuttle service from Houston airport to where our cruise departs.

Hi! We are flying southwest into hobby then renting a car and driving to Galveston and spending the night before. It's going to be a bit of a pain returning the car the next day. DH has to drop me and our 4 kids and our luggage off at the port, then return the car and take a taxi back to the port. All before 1130 am! We have not booked our return to the airport. Thinking of hiring a private car service.

Can anyone advise me as to how many fish extender gifts I will be needing? Approximate is fine...I wasn't sure how many we had signed up so far and I am starting to get my Disney Cruise Fever!

Hello all - we will be sailing from Galveston - very excited. The last time we were on the boat my 8 year old was just shy of 1 year. Doing searches on special gifts I came across this website - I never even knew it existed!

I am thinking we may want to share in the FE exchange - but really depends on the final count.

We may be joining you all. There is a great military rate we would be silly to pass up! We are waiting for DH to get his leave approved now. We are booked on the Feb 1st 8 night that was just changed to two 4 nights!! So we need to change anyhow. It is just DH and I. We got married this past Feb 1 on a cruise in St Thomas when the Magic stopped there. Hopefully we will know for sure in a few days!

Wow this really could be the smallest list ever So far we have Bonifay5, kristinfly2, kittyhawk77, and maybe mmouse7 and wdisneyk. Hopefully more will join the fun. If we have such a small number, the kids are going to cleanup!

Hi sissy! I feel so bad for all the people who had their cruise changed! I hope you do join us!

Do we have any idea how many kids are going to be in our FE? I have four. Sorry! LOL. I am just trying to get an idea as I need to get busy!
