November 3, 2007 - Western on the Magic

Okay, so now the ideas are just churning.

Another question, how many of you (besides Mr. iwbm and myself) took yourselves down to the Disney Store and bought the Tiki Kingdom sundress and shirt? We HAD to have them and then laughed all the way home because we figured so did everybody else and we would look like we were in school uniforms!

No I didn't buy the sundress and shirt, but I am debating on ordering some stuff from Disney Shopping.com

Yeah, I couldn't wear my Mickey skirt on the 3 nighter we were on...everyone else had it! I'm definitely bringing it this time, now that it's "out of fashion"

While we are in que, I thought I would remind my DW, (love2travel), that we are looking for a "e" pal for our 10 yr old DD, to talk with before the trip. If any of our other cruisers are looking for a ship board 10 yr old friend for DD too, let us know.

I think you will find the majority fly down the night before. We drive from NJ every year and stay the night before at RonJons. We try to get there early enough to make RonJons the first day of the trip. Also, since we drive we don't have to worry about stopping for drinks. We bring them with us.

We are going to do the same. We are flying down on Friday morning and got a good price on a van to pick us up at the airport and drive us to RonJons--then drive us to the ship the morning of the cruise. Last year we got there much later, just as 6 or 7 busses unloaded and we stood in line for at least 1 1/2 hours. And you know how the kids are when they are waiting to board . . .

Sweet Spot--what town are you from? We're in Marlton.

we are looking to go fri and i looked up ronjons cause u guys were all talking about it and all i could find was the resort but seems you have to rent villas ...and it says something about "ownership"? can neone let me know what thats allabout?

Sorry, don't know anything about Ron Jon's. We're staying at the Radisson.

Yes our DD is looking for a "e mail" friend to talk with before the trip. Like DH said, just let us know. Thanks!

We stayed at the RonJon one year, it was nice. I just called the number listed on the website and asked about staying one night, it's no problem.

All those other cruises keep bumping us back to page three. Shame on them.

All this talk of clothes and packing...

I did some shopping this week. I don't do much shopping for myself, but I opened the floodgates! I got myself 2 new outfits, a couple of polos/shorts from Disneyshopping.com, 2 new swimsuits, and 4 pairs of flip flops from Payless BOGO. New "foundation garments" ;), too! I don't know what's come over me! I'm beginning to wonder if I'll have room to pack a stitch of tie-dye. What am I saying, OF COURSE I will!:hippie: :lmao:

I told 21yo DD to look for a formal and I'd buy it for her for her birthday (within reason, of course) and I'm debating whether to buy one for 11yo or try to make her something. She's VERY picky about clothes and EXTREMELY hard to fit. I can sew (have sewn prom a few times), but don't know if I'll have the time with everything else I have going on.

I did order 8yo some things from Lands End, but am torn about whether or not I should pack them away for the cruise or just let her go ahead and wear them. I don't want to be pulling out stuff she's outgrown and never worn in October...KWIM?

Ok, now all this talk about clothes and shopping....I have a question, do you think it will be ok to wear white pants and shoes on the cruise in Nov. I don't want the Fashion ::cop: coming after me. :rotfl2:

I hope so since I bought white capri's, white shorts, white sandals, and a white sweater to take on the cruise! Oh, and a white t-shirt (with a red and blue anchor, but the shirt is still white).

Ok that's good, so I won't be the only one being taken away by the Fashion ::cop:. We can party together in our cell!!!!:cool1: :rotfl2:

well its bump up time !!!!!!!

who is staying at the radisson pre cruise ???? we arrive on the thursday night so will be over the jet lag in time for saturday !!!!!

This year we are staying at Country Inns & Suites for $99. It's brand new and I thought we'd try it. We are also flying in to Melbourne airport. We have a layover in Atlanta but it's at lunchtime, so it will be a good time for a break. And it's only a 20-25 minute ride to the Port Canaveral area. We don't play with the shuttles, we rent a car to get back and forth. That way we can go out to dinner wherever we'd like.

Got my precruise planning packet with the excursions lists, etc yesterday. I wasn't expecting it even though we got the same thing around this time last year. It was a great surprise. It was a strange coincidence because I was just getting home from my DS's Senior HS pictures and while I was there the other family with the same time was us was a family that we met last year on the ship that happened to be from our town. They're going again and the mom and I spent the entire picture time talking about last year and this coming cruise. The cruise became much more real yesterday for me. (Especially with my final payment due date on July 21st)

For those NJ cruisers out there remember unlike other vacations where you can let it all hang out because noone there will know you or ever see you again... not true for NJ week. All 5 prior NJ week cruises had people from my kids school or people we knew locally. That week it is truly a small world within Disney.
