November 26, 2005/ 7 day Eastern Magic

Just thought you'd want to know that the high today in St. Thomas is 86 degrees F. I'm thankful we'll be back in the 60's today.

Lit our first fire of the season last night. Now that we've had our first hard frost, I don't know if my pansies will last much longer :(

Bought my new LL Bean toiletry bag yesterday. Another thing off the list . . .wait . . I haven't written a list . . . Gotta write down a list!

Have a lovely day!

See ya real soon!

I can't wait for warmer weather - this is going to be so wonderful!

I picked up bubbles for the kids to pass out on Sat - thought it would be fun for the sail away party. I couldn't find *any* magnets and I went to soooo many places, so I am keeping my fingers crossed for luck at the airport. If not I guess I'll be picking up some Mikckey ones or something. :-)

Wow, this board has been real quiet all weekend. I guess everyone, like myself, have been working hard on packing. I finally got all the cloths ironed :crazy2: and packed, now I just need to pack the little stuff. I found a website that has a list of everything under the sun that you might want to pack. I'm sure you wouldn't pack everything (there's some pretty crazy things on the list), but it makes a good checklist. It is www.geocities.com/calgon1/ Go to the bottom of the page and click "The Ultimate Packing List".

I just wanted to ask once more, who is interested in having a private wine tasting? I offered my cabin, and suggested Sunday at 3:00. I also suggested that each couple bring 1 or 2 bottles of wine from a local winery, or if you don't have one, then just a bottle of something you enjoy. I think I only officially heard from Jon. Is anyone else interested? Would it be helpful to change the date or time, or maybe we can all just bring the wine, and decide on a time and location at the meet on Saturday. Let me know your thoughts.

:Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: I can't believe I leave in just 5 days! :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

Me too! I am so glad to hear I am not the only one...the airport is a great idea, and I will be checking the mall one last time on Tuesday, so I hope I can find some too.

You all are so much farther along with packing than I am...I have a list of all the last minute things I need to get, and will start the major packing tomorrow. I only have 3 more packing days.... :earseek:

Thanks all for the nice birthday wishes. I'm going to Melting Pot (a fondue resturant) then karaoke tonight.

I got a Bahamas immigration card also...but isn't that for people on the western itenary? I may be wrong on this, but I don't think anywhere we're going is in the Bahamas.

Matt

I loooove Melting Pot! Alas they were over booked for 11/19 so I opted to have a birthday/Thanksgiving dinner for the friends/coworkers that we weren't going to see. And thankfully, 40 came and went with nary a creaky bone or extra hair growing in places I didn't know I had! :rotfl:

PS Castaway Cay used to be Gorda Cay but it's still part of The Bahamas. Working for the gov't I understand bureaucracy but c'mon, a ship full of people dock at an isolated (and nearly deserted) island, then they all get back on the same ship and sail back to their originating port...the same group of people who cleared customs in St. Thomas...what's the point? :rolleyes2

Thanks Jon! Well off to packing last minute goodies!! I am still hunting for magnets!! We leave tuesday eve for WDW!

YIPEEE!

Katiesmom,

I know there were more people that offered to bring wine. Lets assume right now it will be 3:00 @ your room. If anyone has any other suggestions, please speak up now.

Golly .. . got to add magnets to my list. We have so much more to get done . . . not to mention backing. DH returns at midnight on Wednesday. That leaves Thursday (Thankgiving) to get all his laundry done, finish pack, eat turkey, and put up all the Christmas decorations.

It will be worth it!

86 and partly cloudy today in St. Thomas . . .Sure beats 55 and heavy rain here in SE VA.

See ya'll soon!

Theresa - You forgot, take a nap from all the turkey that will be eaten.

I need to remember not to eat as much this Thanksgiving, or go run about 5 miles.

We only have a couple of minor things to pack. Advil, Advil and Advil.

Guys, do not forget Sunscreen. If you do, we have plenty of it packed.

Good call, Jon .. . That's how I felt last night when we returned from our youth group's holiday feast. I still have 1/2 of an apple pie in the fridge . . . definitely don't need that right now . . .LOL.

Back to work for me . . .

Have a super day, all!

Whew what a day! First the poor Nike execs get stuck on the maiden flight of their new Gulfstream company jet (they shoulda bought ours :sad2: ) which turned out okay 'cause the pilots got the gear down. And then DW goes to pick up her formal M*A*S*H tent, er, gown :teeth: from the seamstress who did a rush job to tailor it. She's happy as a clam now! :goodvibes Evidently it fits much better now and there was so much material left over, we could have had a tux made for the baby!

3 more sleeps 'till we head for FL!!!!
:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:

Jonesing - Who do you work for? I'm a General Dynamics guy and love those Gulfstreams...well almost all of them.

Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I am getting all the luggage and most the laundry done now, and I always love checking this and the live 11/19 cruise thread, just to see what is going on! I only have Tuesday and Wednesday left....cannot even fathom it has come time.

p.s. I checked with Delta directly today, and our flights are still on after the last changes they made a few weeks ago. I am keeping my fingers crossed that nothing else will CHANGE, I am sick of it!
But the rep I talked to (very nice lady) also knew about the upcoming potential pilot strike, I asked if it is practice for the courts to take some time on the matter, she definitely agreed and said we will probably not be seeing it (if it even happens) until after the holidays....whew!!! I am not going to worry about it anymore. Just hope the weather stays nice and clear so we can get to be with family for Thanksgiving! :wizard:

I have faith it will pass by Friday. The 10 day forecast has been stating 70-75 and sunny on Friday. It may not be swimming weather, but definately sit by the pool with a beverage weather!

Anything to me is sit by the pool with a beverage weather. I may be bundled up, but it still works for me. I am by the pool enough, I am always thinking I need a beverage.

As far as weather goes, anything would be better than what we're experiencing here. This is the 2nd day of a lovely nor'easter. Rain, wind and cold! (just not cold enough to snow!).

So to cheer myself up and you too, consider the weather in St. Thomas today . . . 86 degrees with a sunny afternoon! We'll be there shortly.

Today is my last running around day. Gotta get the last things we need so we're not out in the mayhem of pre-Thanksgiving (although I might go shopping for fun tomorrow . . .great sales!). Gotta get my haircut before we head out to see ya'll.

Have terrific day!

AHH, it was in the mid 70's last year this time when we went on this same Magic cruise. Yes, we loved it so much it's become a family tradition to cruise post thanksgiving on disney. Same cabin, same time every year. Anyways, by the time we got on the boat the sun was out, it was mid 70's, DD was swimming in the mickey pool which was pretty warm. It was chilly getting out but she had a blast, I walked around in a tshirt and capris- a little too cold for me for shorts.

We are from Dallas, similar weather to Orlando in the winter. Anyways, for all those coming from cold places, I am sure it will feel great! My p's come down all the time in the winter from Chicago and love the 70 something weather.

FYI we went to downtown disney the night before and ran around in light sweaters and pants- 50s at night.

Weather in Boston is nasty. Rainy and windy. Going to be in the 20s by Friday with possible snow on Thanksgiving. So the weather is Florida sounds ok by me.

I just confirmed all my rental cars, hotel rooms and flights. Everything is a go. 3 more sleeps and we'll be heading to Florida. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I just about packed, working on my to do list and its getting down to the single digits as well. I hope I don't overpack. But oh well.

DIS Boards have given me lots of good hints and ideas. My kids were wearing thier Pirate costumes on Sunday and we sword fighting all day. They are so excited.

Work has been crazy so I've had to do alot of stuff late at night. My door signs and name tags are done.

I can't believe we are less than 4 days from being on the Magic. Forget the kids, I'm so excited. :earseek: :earseek:

Hope all the packing is going well.

We do not have any kids and I am going crazy. I just want to be on the boat.

Hopefully we have much calmer seas then the group on the boat has right now.
