November 26, 2005/ 7 day Eastern Magic

Do you think Harry Potter will be on the ship by then? I sure hope so, because I have been telling my kids they can see it on the cruise!! :teeth: I thought I read otherwise on the main cruise forum, but I was pretty confident it would be by the time it is our turn. :wizard:

Welcome Les!

I am NOT getting any work done this week. I keep trying but get distracted! I can not imagine how little I am going to be able to concentrate next week! :teeth:

I need to make holiday party plans for the company so at least I will be distracted in a fun way for a little while. I will be bringing my laptop so I can monitor the progress of the party preparations. I know it is a tough job, but really someone has to be stuck with the difficult chores :rolleyes1

Happy Birthday to those celebrating in a few days! I should really start asking for an upgrade in my presents, all I seem to get are clothes!

Eight days until I am enjoying the 70's in FL (as opposed to the 30's in NY)

Jon,

Thanks for updating us on the list. Could you fix Coby's name please you have it spelled Cody instead of Coby. Thanks, he gets upset with that sometimes.

Welcome,

I have a boy 8 and he has already 2 others he has been emailing who are the same age. He would love another email friend. PM me and I'll give you our email address. My niece is also traveling with us who is 12. Maybe she can hang with your daughter. My niece wants to meet a "surfer boy". I told her not on my watch!! :rotfl: Maybe this will be a test for when my 4 year old DD gets older.

8 days and couting..... :Pinkbounc To quote the pointer sisters "I'm so excited"!

I can't believe how busy I am at work this week. I don't think people understand how much more planning I still have before I cruise. I have signs to make, list to review and ideas to complete for the islands. :guilty:

Oh well, I'll have to stay up late tonight!!

Speaking of not getting any work done...where would I find a good photo of the Magic or Wonder? Preferably at sea. oooooooor maybe both together? I need to make my "out of office" sign to put on my whiteboard ;)

Louie, I know what you mean! I've had an easier time though...I'm sick  but not too sick to type ;) Some kind of head cold. But since all the coughing has taken away my voice, well so much for teleconferences LOL

I have a pretty good shot from our last trip. PM your email and I'll send it to you. It's a picture of the ship in Castaway Cay :) I've been using it as background for my palm pilot and it's on our refrigerator to remind us what we have to look forward to .. .

Katiesmom, never mind about the :worship: Yuengling. I called a few Publix locations and they DO have it! My friend is sooooo going to owe me! :teeth:

Say, how many bottles of wine do we need to bring? I stopped by the grocery store and a liquor store...didn't realize there were so many locally produced wines!

BTW let me get this straight, if we bring a bottle for use at dinner, there's a corking fee but they will then save it for the next night if we don't finish it?

Hi Jon....Just an update. I could not remember if we gave you our cabin number.
It is 8542. Only 5 more days until we leave for Disney!
We are staying at the Beach Club Resort before we cruise!

What's next for the bankruptcy and the pilot contract?

The federal judge can rule at any time on whether to reject the existing deal and let the company impose the new deal. But normally, bankruptcy judges wait at least 30 days, if not longer, to see whether the two sides can agree on concessions.

What should customers worried about future flights do?

If you have already purchased a ticket, the airline is responsible for either a refund or rebooking on another carrier if there is a similar class of service.

That could be problematic if the flight is full, however, because another airline may not honor a lower-priced ticket. Delta also could use Comair or other regional airlines to fill in the voids.

Still, local travelers who had booked a direct flight would probably have to connect through another airline's hub if they use another carrier. And there might be circumstances in which Delta may not be responsible for either rebooking or refunds.

Anyone looking to book future flights should pay with a credit card to make sure he can get a refund and get insured by the credit card company.

I called Disney a few days ago and got the list. I posted it on post #865. No Harry Potter, so we are going to see it tomarrow night in IMAX.

This being my first cruise, I figured I needed to change my mindset about traveling money. I usually take some cash and traveler's checkes in the local currency. But since we won't need too much cash on board, I wanted to see how much cash y'all would be bringing?

Jonesing - We are bringing about 100 in ones for tips, etc. Also around 300 or so in cash. Mostly for island stuff not for onboard.

Thanks, Jonesing & ljt064! I was just thinking about what cash to bring. Do folks even cash travelers checks anymore? I was figuring about $500 in cash. I know the taxis in St. Thomas alone are going to be about $100 round trip. DH on the other hand will want to bring about $20 . . .LOL. He hates to carry cash. Maybe it's b/c I usually spend it . . LOL

Golly . . .9 days to go . . .whooppeee!!

Your birthday is 11/19? I think that makes 3 of us! :grouphug: Boo Mc's birthday is Saturday as well. Since there's no James Bond movie this year (they traditionally come out now) I get to see Harry Potter instead.

My birthday is also 11/19 and DH and I are going out for a steak dinner and then off to see Harry Potter, as my wonderful sister has graciously agreed to babysit my DD overnight. :bday:
