November 25th, 2016 - Black Friday on the Wonder

Looks like Frozen will be the new musical on the ship. I'm assuming it'll replace Toy Story. If I recall correctly, Golden Mickeys was recently updated... Those two changes will be nice.
Definitely! The new video looks so cute.

I hope they get rid of Toy Story, I didn't like that show. I don't mind Frozen but I would love for them to do like the Broadway version of Lion King or something. Random complaints of a DCL cruiser:D

On the way to Galveston, download the Holiday Heads Up I Pad game for fun with the kids in the car.

Like Hidden Mickeys? There are tons on the ship. I bet a few new ones after dry dock too. If you want a primer, buy the Hidden Mickey's Go To Sea book on Amazon.

Print out or download a list of definitions for the nautical flags (alphabet). There are tons around the ship that spell things and are fun to decode.

When you are filling out the form to hold your mail during the cruise, go ahead and call your credit card company to let them know you will be out of the country. Letting them know will eliminate fraud questions when purchasing items on your trip.

You may want to find out port money exchange rates and time zones before you go. Also get a few dollars of Bahamian currency. Inorder to send a postcard from Castaway Kay, you need cash. Their post office does not take cards.

The cups they provide on the ship are small, so bring your own tumbler from home. The bigger size will also give you room to combine the soft serve and sodas for a free ice cream float. Lastly, save a drive through drink container to bring. You will be thankful to have it to carry your drinks back to your room.

Welcome to the boards! Trying to hit ten posts? :surfweb:

@Kdspratt, now that you have hit 10 posts did you want to join the FE? I can pm you for your info if you are still interested in joining. Or you can start a pm with me - if you are still interested, the only info I need is room #, who is in the room(don't need real names), ages of any kids and an email to send the list to. Optional info is any allergies and favorite characters.

Welcome to the boards! I'm guessing this isn't your first cruise! Thanks for all of the reminders. We love to use the cups for ice cream or to make floats.

We had a pseudo dry run of late dinning last night. We went to a baseball game. It was supposed to start at 7 (our daughter's normal bed time), but a rain delay pushed it back to 8:30. Our daughter nursed, chilled and ended up sleeping in our arms by about 9:30. I'm hoping we'll be that lucky on the cruise!

Edit: I should now make note that it's been a super fussy morning and nap times are all over the place this morning. Somebody was miss grumpy gills....

For those of you who already booked your port excursions and on board activities, were there any excursions/activities that were all booked up? I get last dibs on booking since it's our first cruise so I'm wondering what will be left. Has anyone booked an excursion thru another service other than Disney's??

When I booked, the only thing that was gone was one of the character breakfasts and a princess meet and greet (DCL may have blocked those off for those booking later or on the ship). If you're interested in anything in particular I can look it up for you.

We've done a few ports/excursions on our own and they've been wonderful (in Alaska, San Fran, and St Martten). We're planning on doing Key West on our own. Just keep in mind that if you're late getting back (and you've been out on your own or on a excursion not booked through Disney) that they will not wait for you (unless you happen to have a child aboard by him/herself with no one else linked to your reservation still on board).

Happy Monday everyone! According to the app, only 108 days to go! I better start figuring out what we're wearing, so that I can order stuff for my daughter because of course she doesn't have anything Disney :rolleyes1. Random question up for debate..do you give yourselves a spending budget on the cruise? I used to attempt to give us a budget, but it never really worked. Now I just go with a "let's try to keep it under X amount"

I know I will be more excited when we finally hit double digits cause I have seen 3 for so long. Are you going to dress up for Pirate night and everything? I am always trying to pack less so I can buy more:laughing: I have already started putting Disney gift cards on my onboard account as I know right now I will owe for the cabana, tips and booking another cruise onboard. Other than merchandise I really don't spend a lot on anything else. I never give myself a budget, I wouldn't stick to it anyways!

We won't be dressing up for pirate night--except maybe DCL pirates in the Caribbean t-shirts for the fireworks. We decided to add a second dinning at Palo, so we'll be doing that on Pirate night for dinner. The pirate menu is our least favorite, and they've made some changes to the Palo menu. I'm loving the idea of packing less so you can buy more! :thumbsup2

I always think I am going to do the party and see the fireworks on Pirate night - and then I see all the people up on deck and decide been there, done that and go to my room. Hopefully the weather is better this year as it was so windy last year.
I got bored and decided to count how many more Mondays we have and it is only 15. Somehow 15 Mondays doesn't sound as bad as 108 more days.
Just a reminder to everyone - cruises have to be PIF by 9/11/16(75 days before the cruise). Gold CC members can book excursions this Thursday:hyper:

I hear ya about the deck party. I told my husband that I'm planning on doing the sail away party from our usual spot (deck 12--above the pool) and off to the side. No need to go join the hordes of people by the stage, especially and even with a little one. We've watched the fireworks from our room quite a few times, and a few times we've even fallen asleep before they've been launched. I'm definitely game for counting down the number of Mondays until we cruise--15 mondays is a WHOLE lot better than 108 days!
