November 24, 2012 Magic

We have only had one more group join the FE so it looks like it will be nice and small. Here are my thoughts so let me know if its ok.

I think we should do individual gifts for the kids and then a cabin gift. This would include all the adults who wanted to be part of it. If a cabin wants to receive then they would also need to give. I think because it is such a small group that maybe we could do two small presents for the kids so they they receive things all week. Then the stateroom gift would only be given one time. I think everyday would be way too much. We want everyone to be relaxed and enjoying their vacations!

We will need to establish a date to cut off joining the FE so that everyone has an idea how many gifts they will need to do. I am thinking the end of the month. Does that give everyone enough time?

Works for me!:thumbsup2

I think this all sounds great. I was wondering if we got added to the list since I can't pm you. 2 adults, dd6 and ds 4
Also, my sil wants to join but isn't on DISboards
You can call them the Kailing cabin - 2 adults, 1 child (dd 4)
Will you let me know you've got us? Idk why they won't let me pm till I've had 10 posts.
Also, how/ when will we get room numbers of all the FE participants or is that even how it works?

Yes we will the room numbers before the cruise...I still don't have a room number...I'm hoping to get assigned soon!

I have you kdaniels!!

I will create a list and send it to all involved when we get past the closing date. I would rather pm it to everybody so that everyone's personal info isn't hanging out in cyberspace for all to see.

My two cabins can be thought of as two individual cabins for the purposes of the FE, so then would we still need to do 2 gifts for kids to cover everyday? I'm having a hard time coming up with ideas for the kids to cover the age ranges, so I'm fine with just 1 day for the kids. (-: but we're fine with whatever the group decides.

I am just soooo super excited about this cruise!!! I'm okay doing 1 or 2 things for the kids...either way.

I'm also excited about the Christmas stuff onboard...I love Christmas!:santa:

We are parking at BOI Valet, which is just off-site of the port. Don't try to use Park N Cruise, they have cancelled some people's reservations and are apparently not servicing the DCL cruises. We googled Galveston cruise parking to find whom to use.

Hi all, our family will be on this cruise and we're all very excited. It is not only our first Disney cruise, but our first cruise period. It's my husband and I, and our three sons - 7,6,2. We have 2 other cabins of friends joining us also.

Can anyone confirm if the ship will be decorated for Christmas? I read a Disney article that said Dec 1st and on, but I wasn't sure about our sailing since we end on Dec. 1st.

Thanks!

Welcome!!! My understand is that the decorations start after Thanksgiving. So our cruise should be all Christmasy.

How does lunch work in the dining room? Is it a buffet or do you order off a menu like at dinner? If you order off a menu is the menu the same everyday?

Valerie, when Parrrot Cay is open for lunch, it is a buffet; CMs will bring beverages to your table. Topsiders, of course, is buffet. The buffets usually have different "themes".

Lumiere's - sit down, order from a different menu each lunch. The menu is posted before lunch each day. It is posted on the side of the restaurant along the hallway next to the side entrance to the restaurant (toward the rear of the restaurant). Hope that's not too confusing!

On embarkation day, you have two choices for lunch - Parrot Cay or Topsiders or the food spots on deck 9 near the pools.

Thanks Jan, that makes perfect sense.

Is the lunch on the first day the same at Parrots and Topsiders?

I read that the food is the same at both places. But I think I may eat at Parrot Cay if it means they will bring me pineapple juice!

Welcome Courtney, family and friends! Great choice to make DCL your frist cruise. My very first cruise was on the Magic in 1999 on a 4 day cruise.

Yes, the ship will be decorated. Lots of photo ops!

Our group has a FB page. If you want to join, let Sara (blainensara) know. I don't know how to do it, FB challenged!

I read the same thing about Park N Cruise so we went with EZ Cruise Parking and you can use code "EZGIFT4" for $5 off. I tried posting a link but I'm too new to do so! I got the code from another post on the boards.
