November 21, 2012: Giving Thanks(giving) for a DREAM come true!

Yes, we did DCL for Alaska - we love DCL! We've sailed Royal Caribbean before and enjoyed it and are taking our first Carnival as a family at Christmas (I sailed Carnival a few years ago on an older ship and said not again on an older one). I like the set-up of DCL ships and how family friendly they are - I didn't find that to be the case on the older Carnival ship I was on - but we're doing Carnival Dream this time.

Yeah- we love Disney too, we have done 3 of them, have done Carnival, RCCL, and NCL also- but Disney will always be our favorite!!:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 I can't wait to see how this year's cruise goes, as far as decorations and all. So we know what to expect next year!!!

Hello Everyone!

We currently are booked on this cruise. It was originally booked as our "dummy cruise", but we happened to get a room that my husband really wants to stay in and I just really want to cruise at Thanksgiving;). So, hopefully we will be keeping this cruise. It all depends on what DCL has in store for us for summer 2013 itineraries. It will have to be really good to make us move this one!!!!

We are: me, DH, DS (12 at sailing), and DD (9 at sailing). This will be our 6th DCL cruise (3rd to the Bahamas).

It looks like many of the kids are about the same ages. I know my kids love to make friends on board to hang out with. Hopefully, as the cruise draws nearer we can do that with this cruise.

This Christmas is going to be our first experience seeing what decorations and special things DCL does on board (we'll be on the Christmas MR sailing). From what I hear, they do a tree lighting on every cruise from Thanksgiving - New Year's and have Carolers one of the evenings in the Atrium. I will definitely report back with any info. Let's hope the cruisers on this year's Thanksgiving cruise post lots of info for us. Of course, my husband's main concern is dinner! :lovestrucHe just wants to make sure he gets his fill of turkey/stuffing/potatoes/ and gravy!

I'm excited about the possibility of joining you guys on this cruise!!

Hello Everyone - its been a while since I've visited and checked in. Looks like not many are looking ahead to next T-day yet...guess they are waiting to get thru this year's holiday season.

My parents have decided to join us - so we've got 8 of us in two cabins. I want make this a special cruise for my sister and her DS's - it will be her first one and w/o her (D)H because he refuses to cruise.

I've already decided that this will be our first cruise doing the FE - I want to surprise my sis with something even we haven't done and her kids will just love the "goodies". I've already decided what we'll be making (and have my mom working on the final sample - she's retired and is the crafty one in the family). Would love to be added to the list, if one has been started. Just let me know what info is needed and what the "protocols" are.

Looking forward to hearing what the ship and CC look like this season, so we know what we can expect next year!

If I don't "check in" for a while...Happy Holidays to all!! We look forward to the excitement and anticipation this time, next year!!

Monica

Hi everyone - just think, this time next year we'll be heading to Port Canaveral getting ready for our Thanksgiving cruise!!!!!

Thanks for sharing the link to the photos. One of my Facebook friends posted a picture of the tree at the DCL terminal this morning. Love it! I'm also in for Fish Extenders. Can't wait!

Hello! Just booked this cruise yesterday (and another) while onboard the Dream! The ship was beautifully decorated by the way!! My DD and I had a blast and the weather was PRISTINE the entire 3 nights!! This was our 2nd DCL vacation to the Bahama's in almost 2 years, so my goal now is to always cruise in November during Thanksgiving!

We participated in the FE Gift exchange and loved it! We brought our gifts in one large suitecase, and it was FULL again when we left the ship this morning! It's amazing how creative people can get with their FE gifts!! The handmade items are simply the BEST!:thumbsup2 Please count us in for this this cruise, too!

Looking forward to catching up soon! Happy Thanksgiving!!

My mother-in-law is the best! She made the cutest Fish Extender for my birthday present! Can't wait to hang it up outside our stateroom. Meanwhile, I'm trying to think about gifts to put in your Fish Extenders. I wouldn't normally do holiday-related items, but with the timing of our cruise, I was considering it. Could you please let me know -- PM is OK -- which holiday(s) your family observes? If anyone else is thinking along the same lines, please add our name to the "Christmas" list.
