November 2024 Check in Thread

Taking a quick trip November 13 - 16 with my daughter who is expecting her first child, so this will be our last mother/daughter trip before she becomes a mom herself! Alaska Airlines had a sale so we get to fly from our northern California regional airport into SNA which is always such a luxury.

We're staying at the Candy Cane Inn for nostalgic reasons The very first time I took my kids to Disneyland was in 1995 and our travel package included four nights at the Candy Cane Inn (it was a 3 night package that was a promo to include an extra night), a "Flex Signature Passport" for Disneyland (up to 5 consecutive days at Disneyland for the price of 2), and a day at Universal, for 1 adult and two children. I booked the package through a local travel agent. We even had a Magic Morning one day! The cost was ... (pause so you can set your beverage down or you'll spill it)... $488.00 total. And yes, the decimal is in the right place! 🤣

Disneyland was celebrating its 40th anniversary that year and Universal was celebrating its 30th. We went in February, which was still considered off-season, when there was such a thing. The park hours were 10am – 6pm on the weekdays that we were there. California Adventure didn’t exist of course, Toontown was not quite 2 years old, and Indiana Jones would open the following month. Dinner at Goofy's Kitchen was $16.95 for adults and $7.95 for children.

The same package would have cost $900 to stay at the Disneyland Hotel, which was the only onsite hotel at the time.

Jungle cruise just popped up on the refurb list staring November 3rd…let’s hope it’s a quick one…
Still no news about railroad and WOC as I see it…
Edit: Jungle Cruise must have been some kind of IT glitch… it’s not on the list anymore…

WOC season of light is still not bookable for dining reservations…
Not sure but either story tellers hasn’t released their breakfast spots for the holidays yet or they are reserved quite fast…
But it would make sense that they don’t release them if they do a Christmas menu…

I already got my fantasmic reservation but I am getting nervous about my desert party and character breakfast at story tellers on our departure day…

Annual Thanksgiving trip, 26-29.

I thought as dd got older she wouldn’t want to continue the tradition, especially because she has become tired of WDW. (Our last 2 trips to WDW were without her.) She was stunned when I asked if she wanted to go this year. She still loves DLR! 😍🥰 (me too kid, me too)

Our trip is Nov 18 - 22. We’re staying at GCH. I was able to get Blue Bayou and Lamplight Lounge reservations. We are so looking forward to the Christmas ambiance at the parks & GCH!

I posted a new thread, but fyi - room discounts have dropped this morning for those staying onsite in November (select availability, most Sunday through Thursday nights between 10/20 and 12/19/2024).

Thanksgiving trip Nov. 23-30th!! Does anyone know how consistent the dining reservations have been loading for Disneyland lately? I am hoping for a Blue Bayou Fantasmic package on Thanksgiving and a World of Color dessert party the next day... and I am so worried about not getting them haha!

The way I see it they stoped loading some reservations…probably the one that get a special Christmas touch in some way…
Character meals (storytellers and goofy’s) stopped about first weekend of holidays (nov 17th)
World of Color is still off the schedule and can’t be reserved…

But fantasmic is on schedule (including blue bayou) at least it was this week, but it gets filled quite quickly…so better reserve it at 6 am…

(By the way I would absolutely deny that I am checking the dining reservations more than 5 times a day just in case something has changed…and I don’t even know why I am so anxious because it’s it’s not like those ressis would be must do’s this trip…)

Sunday, November 17th to Saturday, November 23rd for our merry band of adults. Staying at the Grand Cal for the first time in a DVC studio. So excited, have never been to DL during the Christmas festivities. Got my Fantasmic Dinner package at Blue Bayou for Friday the 22nd (going to try and catch Fire of the Rising Moons fireworks in Galaxy Edge first then go sit for the 2nd show of Fantasmic). I keep stalking the WoC Desert Party but alas... like everyone else, still not open for booking (tic tic tic Disney ⏱️ lol).

May I ask you how you got the Blue Bayou Fantasmic package? I have been practicing this last week for when I go the first week on December and Blue Bayou never comes up. Did you use the app? Website? Computer? Phone? I must be doing something wrong lol

Any advise would be great!

Thank you!

Oh and BTW, congrats on getting the reservation!

I saw it last week (when I booked rancho del zocalo) I used the website and clicked on the fantasmic dining reservation website at “check availability” and then chose the right date (latest shown) and then you should see it..(if there is availability)

The new day for reservation drops at 6 am…

Fantasmic is only on the weekends right now. Are you looking at M-Th?

I am looking for either a Wednesday or Thursday booking. Hoping that Fantasmic will go back to daily by then. If not, I would to try Blue Bayou for dinner.

If you are practicing looking on a M-Th, you won't see it. If you try in 4 days at 6 am PST, you should see Fantasmic packages for Friday, Nov 29. RB Premium sells out almost immediately as there is very limited seating. Blue Bayou usually lasts a little longer, but not hours longer.

I just looked and they are offering the Fantasmic package for Monday 11/25. I hope this will continue. I have yet to see Blue Bayou though.

Didn't see that. Glad to hear it is going back to weekdays.

Try searching for different party sizes. When I put 2 people, Blue Bayou didn't show up. If I changed it to four people, there was both regular dining as well as Fantasmic seats.
