DH and I are trying to figure out the best week to visit in 2018. We're both completely flexible with dates, we just really want to go when crowds are low and it's a bit cooler. From researching online, it seems like
November 10-19 is a great week to go. Low crowds, cooler temps, and what I really want to try to accomplish is hitting Food & Wine Festival and MVMCP in the same trip. Is this doable? I know dates for 2018 aren't posted, and everything is purely hypothetical, but based on past dates, there's a chance, right?

Anyone visited that week of November? How are crowds? I know it's still very warm, but it can't be as bad as August (our last 2 trips were in August). Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

ETA: What do you think is the best week to visit WDW?
Is October better than November crowd-wise? Is there a big difference in temps?

F&W is more important to me than seeing the Christmas program, I'd like the Halloween program too (just as long as we get to do a special event party) so I'm really just trying to figure out the week with the lowest crowds (and not-as-hot-as-August temps if I can)

I'd want to be long gone by the 17th. That's when the Thanksgiving crowd will start to descend. Many school districts give the whole week off and/or parents just pull the kids early.

WE go in Nov often - it used to be a relatively slow time, except for Thanksgiving week. We liked after Thanksgiving and into the first week of Dec for Christmas decorations and nice temperatures, IMO (we like it cooler). Last year we went for the week leading up to Thanksgiving and it was fairly good for crowds. It does seem to be much busier this year, which means fewer discounts as well as more people.

I wouldn't say that Nov is still very warm. The temperature can be warm but it is variable at that time of year, anywhere from shorts and swimsuit to cool enough for jackets and long pants. You need to prepare for almost anything, but will likely at least want jackets for in the evening.

If you go near the end of the Food and Wine, like you have tentatively planned, you might be able to do both F&W and an early MVMCP. It's worth a try! You might need o play with your dates when schedules are announced.

Enjoy!

Thank you, I didn't even think of that! I thought I'd be safe as long as I don't go Thanksgiving week, but you're right, the weekend before does count as part of that week. I found a site online that ranks the best weeks, and it recommended that week, that's the only reason I selected it! Thank you!

Thank you! Your advice about the weather is super encouraging! I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for the worst, but hope for the best. I would love weather cool enough for a jacket!

I would love to go after Thanksgiving, I know the Christmas program is in full effect, and looks so magical. I promised DH we would go for F&W next trip though

I was hoping to catch the tail end of F&W, and then MVMCP towards the end of our trip. I'd definitely leave room to work around the dates they release!

Thank you again!!

We've gone three out of the last four years during that week. Being sandwiched between Jersey Week/Veterans Day and Thanksgiving week means the weekends will be busy, but the weekdays are usually nice. Assuming F&W ends on that Monday again next year, that Sunday and Monday (early on each day) should be nice. Also, there are plenty of party nights at MK during that week, in case you want to go to a MVMCP.

Oh yeah, the weather is nothing like August, BUT the temps can range widely. A couple of years ago, our trip started in the 80's and dipped down into the 30's.

Thank you so much! This helps immensely! :goodvibes
