I think we have finally pinned down Nov 8-14 2015 for the first DL trip since 1978 (for me) and first ever for DD. Will holiday decorations be up yet? Any rides that might typically be closed during that week? Any advice would be most welcome, planning on staying at DLH. Thanks!!

We're also looking at the month of November for next year. The only red flag with your dates would be the filming of the Christmas parade (usually the first or second weekend in November) though I am unsure how that effects crowds. The Christmas decorations will likely be going up/mostly up then, too.

If the first ever Avengers half-marathon weekend turns out to be a huge success, then I wouldn't be surprised to see it return next year. If they pick the same weekend that would most affect the dates Nov. 13-15, but racers may start arriving a bit before that. Of course, there is no guarantee it will be back or that they will pick the same time frame, but it's still something to keep an eye on.

Also, the official start of holiday time this year is November 13. The corresponding date next year would be November 12. We won't know what date Disney decides to pick for next year until August or September 2015. Holiday decorations and merchandise will start appearing gradually before the first "official" day, whatever it turns out to be next year, but the full slate of holiday activities, shows, foods, etc. won't be available until that official start date.

Based on history, I'd say you'll catch a few days of Christmas, at the very least. That said, Disney doesn't even have hours out for their parks beyond Nov 8th. That's only 5 weeks away. I've got a trip later in November that costs $$$ and have no idea when the parks will be open with just about a month to go. So Disney telling you what they're doing a year from now doesn't seem likely when they can't tell you what's happening next month!

We're going Nov. 10-15, 2015 and after talking with Disboards resident holiday expert Sherry E, I feel confident there should be a few days of Christmas magic in there at the end!
