Staying at Pop November 9th-16th. Can't wait to see Disney at Christmas!

Visited WDW for the first time this past November with a friend. And I have now convinced my parents to go this November! And I'm in charge of planning everything.......Still deciding when in November, probably the week before the Thanksgiving again. And I'm trying to decide if we should book at POR (where I stayed) or a different moderate resort (Coronado is the other one I'm looking into). And I"m kind of waiting for the free dining plan too...it helps so much in planning...lol
Has anyone staying at both resorts, and what are the pros and cons of each resort??
We have stayed at both the CSR and POR. I am way prejudiced towards POR, we LOVE it!!!! We tried to get POR for this trip with free dining, but it is not being offered with fdp this year
So, we opted for CBR. I'll start with CSR. We stayed there once. Not impressed. It was HUGE. We stayed in the casitas which were supposed to be closest to the action, but we still walked and walked and walked! The rooms are large and clean, no problems there. The courtyard in the casitas was beautiful with a fountain. We ate at the Peppermill and did not like it at all!!
The food was okay but none of the servers knew how to handle the fdp. We always had a problem with the bill which was no fun. Of course, they now probably know how to do it. we had to go to several stations to get our food with long waits at most, so your other food got cold while waiting. The entire resort has a convention/business/howard johnsons feel to it. So it wasn't for us. Now, the POR is our home away from home. We were really upset that fdp wasn't allowed at POR or POFQ this year! We love the atmosphere of a tropical paradise with bridges, tropical plants/trees/ winding paths. You felt like you had it all to yourself while wandering the paths. We stayed in Alligator Bayou and loved the atmosphere. Rooms were always clean, nice quiet pool. We loved the old mill to eat breakfast, dinner, just a snack. Always good food and quick checkout. Love the mill and water wheel outside. The Disney store was nice and arcade. The bar area had live entertainment, tho we never stopped to see it. The buses ran just fine. I know a lot of people say the buses take too long, but we've been there several times and never had to wait over 15 minutes at the longest. All in all, I would opt for POR, IF the free dining was still around. I think CBR will be great too. will let you know, and good luck for your magical vacation
For once in my life I am on top of this booking thing. I am booking the BWV for November 2014 during the Wine & Dine and Festival of the Masters weekend. I am so super excited that I remembered right before the 11 month window and will have the best resort during my trip to the F&W!
Anyone else planning a November 2014 trip this far out?
Just hubby and me at CBR. Never been at CBR before but had to change due to free dining plan NOT being offered at POR this year! I guess Disney is not giving fdp to the most popular resorts of value, POP, moderate: POR and pOFQ,, don't know which deluxe resort is included. We usually go 2 weeks before Thanksgiving or one week before Christmas, which usually has great weather and less crowds. Can't wait for the magic to start

Just finalized all of our trip details! It will be my mom and I with my husband joining us at the beginning and end of the trip. We have had a very sad few years as a family and we are making up for it big time!! 7 weeks at WDW! Going from October 7 2014 to November 21 2014! Celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary, my mom's birthday and her continued fight against scleroderma and my birthday! 5 nights Beach Club club level, 1 night at the Dolphin, 9 nights Port Orleans Riverside, 6 nights Animal Kingdom Lodge Club level, 7 nights Grand Floridian Royal Palm Club and finishing up with 17 nights at Boardwalk Inn. We've saved our butts off to do this and it will be worth every penny!
