November 2014 Car Rentals

Rates went way up this weekend with Alamo and Budget. I don't know if this is the "beginning of the end" or temporary, but I know last year my prices never went down after about 3 months before my trip. Here's hoping this is incorrect for this year. Waiting anxiously!!!

Question our flights get in Tampa at 10:30, is there anyway to get a rental car that night or do you have to wait till like 8am the next day?

looks like rates are up across most vendors. I am guessing it is due to it being the 60 day (give or take) window for travel. Barring any last minute deals etc, looks like $112 is the lowest I am getting - and I am not complaining!!!

2 Cars from 11/21-11/29 into MCO out of TPA. 184 each for 5 passenger cars, unlimited mileage and a car seat. I am going to stop looking at this point I think. Pretty happy with the rates. Getting two due to different arrival times.

They give you a list of all the choices and it flucuates all the time. Today it was back up at 225 or so.

Hold onto hope!!! Three years ago, Alamo dropped like a rock the week before our "Jersey Week" November rental. I got a standard size rental from Alamo for $68 (that included the tax!!!) When we got the aisle, they had a minivan! Deal of the century! Fingers crossed, it could happen again!

Hold onto hope!!! Three years ago, Alamo dropped like a rock the week before our "Jersey Week" November rental. I got a standard size rental from Alamo for $68 (that included the tax!!!) When we got the aisle, they had a minivan! Deal of the century! Fingers crossed, it could happen again!

I keep checking daily just in case something happens like that. What's fun is we had a set budget for the vacation when we started that included everything we wanted to do/get, so anything that is chipped off the rental is extra spending money to use for things like Food and Wine etc.

I just signed up for the Insiders, I got the ID number but not able to use it. I wonder why? I was able use the code though!

Thanks to all on this thread. I've only rented a car one other time and had no idea what To expect price-wise. I booked through Alamo tonight and got a full-size for $132 for 11/20-27...I'm thinking that's pretty good??

Thanks for the heads up my 8 day rental just went down another $25. Initial booking was $204 and with the price drop I'm down to $125 for a mid-size.

I booked this deal with the same codes and it came in at $253 for a 9 day rental. Funny that this coupon works for November, but not October, thanks. Btw, I get the best rates using the passholder code over anything else!
