Thanks! Awesome news even of it does mean getting up early on a Saturday. Everything crossed that we will all be able to get just what we want.

I'm hearing they won't start until 11/9, which is MVMCP for us. We had no choice to leave on 11/10 before, but now we can leave 11/11 and go to HS again on 11/10. That is, assuming we can get a room...

Thanks for the positive thoughts on that, everyone... I think stalking wil be my plan for now. I do also have a friend who lives in the area, but I hate to even think of asking to inconvenience her for a night. That may be a backup plan, though...

I change my dates up November 24-29
So excited for bog august 4 is the big day so when will it be opening I wonder how hard it will be I only have one day maybe 2 for ADR ahhh

There still isn't any word on an actual opening date. And I'm wondering if the ADR date is written in stone just yet. But at least it is a date to focus on.

Bah... Now for the bad news...

There are no AoA LM rooms left for our potentially added night.
I called to add it, and the CM searched and searched, but nada.
Switching to a suite would add $2,000, she pointed out...
The next option is doing a split stay, of course, but I don't really want to switch resorts just for our last night. (Has anyone done the math on the least costly way to split a 10-night stay over two resorts?) And that leaves me checking every day or so for a cancelation.

And, of course, while I was on the phone with a CM, I asked if maybe we had a FD pin. She apologized very prettily, but still a no-go... Well, at least I now have a good excuse to call them regularly.

A split stay with Free Dining usually ends up not worth it. You have to buy 2 day base tickets with your package in order to get Free Dining (I think it used to be a one day ticket, but I think they've upped it to 2 day), and buying say a 5 day ticket and a 2 day ticket is A LOT more expensive than buying a 7 day ticket. If you can't get AoA, then the best thing to do is book a room only ressie for your last night. You won't have the dining plan for the last night, but it will be the cheapest option. I bet something will open up at AoA, though . Just keep calling. --Katie

This is my first trip so in no way no what to expect but, while I can see the point of being tied down to ADR's limiting flexibility, doesn't not having ADR's take more time in finding places to eat, waiting in line, basically serving yourself, having to find a place to eat? Is it really that much of a time saver? Just curious, no disrespect meant.

Yes, they surely do! Right now for our 8 days which = total of 24 TS credits a piece for this trip- my DH and I are @ 23 and both my DD are @24! So as of now, 2 of us only have room for 1 TS meal. We may have to pay for DD's if we decide to do BOG or we may just drop 1 TS breakfast or lunch. I guess time will tell on that one!!

I have 21 credits and Im at 24 with the HDDR!

Please add us to your list of those arrive before 11/1. Our trip starts 10/26 and ends 11/2, at AKL-Jambo.

For us, the ADR's are just a fun part of the trip. We look forward to trying new places and the kids especially enjoy the character meals. We also tour the parks at a slower place and we focus on the must do rides in the first part of the day, then we normally have a CS lunch, go back to the resort for a break and in the evening we'll back for dinner and the parade and/or fireworks.
I'm hoping to do DXDP next year but only because I would like to try some of the dinner shows and signature restaurants so we would probably still only have 2 main meals a day.


I love the idea of the gold stars. Last year we did a 30 day countdown and the kids loved so I might just incorporate the star idea this year.

For the most part we have 2 main meals, some of them we have 3 but I figure maybe an appi at RFC on our AK day, not a full meal

Thursday, 11/1 - arrival
Friday, 11/2 - MK, MNSSHP
Saturday, 11/3 - AK, DTD
Sunday, 11/4 - Legoland
Monday, 11/5 - Epcot
Tuesday, 11/6 - Typhoon Lagoon
Wednesday, 11/7 - HS
Thursday, 11/8 - Universal? (still on the fence)
Friday, 11/9 - MK, MVMCP
Saturday, 11/10 - departure

The added complication here is that if I get a FD pin or if the GP offer mirrors the current PIN, there's a blackout on check-in dates between 11/2 and 11/8. So if we split it, it really has to be on 11/9, for two days, and there's a 3-day minimum for DDP anyway. Grr...

So either I add a single night at another resort with dining OOP, or I hope one LM room opens up that night. Or, we stick with what we had and miss Osborne Family Lights after all...

If it were me, I would wait and see what happens with the LM room... If anything, You could just pay oop on your last day(since it will be Osbourne lights anyhow, maybe plan 50's or Sci-fi(relatively inexpensive) There is still time though Call everyday!

They are every night after the 9th I think. They start at 6 or 630 every night

If you just added the last night at a different resort, you would only have to OOP for the day you leave. Your dining credits would be good until midnight of the day you checkout. That way might be the easiest.

CLP was only a select few times over a month or so, BOG will be open for ADR's for everyone for the next, what year? That will be a crazzzzyyy amount of people calling in! I know I'll be up that early, now I just need to keep that day open from anything else so I can plan to be on hold for 24 hours!

QUESTION: Has anyone ever gone up in the balloon at DTD. That's one other "first" that we're thinking of doing ths time. Fun? Worth it?

Hey, just wanted to give you a heads up. They just reported on Touring Lines that the balloon (characters in flight) has been taken down for inspection for an unspecified amount of time, due to a similiar balloon going down in Hong Kong.

I know we are all patiently waiting for Bog ADRs to open. But are you honestly excited about the menu itself? In all honesty I'm not. But I want to eat there just to see it and experience it.

That is pretty much how I feel about it too in fact DH tends to have an aversion to dining French says he does not like it so If I do book it I will keep the menu to myself until we are there

I was gone most of today, we took the kids into Philadelphia(about 1.5 hrs away) to the plz touch museum.... I am wiped out! I have not idea how Im gonna make it at Disney!!!!
