Well, I am glad I did not wait for SW flights. JetBlue was the better deal, even with me screwing up and having to book a little later which cost us an extra $100. Almost 100% of the flights on our dates from SW were 1 stop flights and the few that were non stop at roughly the same times I have booked with JetBlue were $100 higher than what I paid

I already had our flight down booked (11/1) @ $128 each pp. The flights that opened today are ridiculous from here (NY-Islip) Im looking at $175 each pp for the return flight  With gas prices dropping as they have been Im def not buying today Ill wait it out a bit :confused3

So how is the flight shopping going? Are ya'll having sticker shock? Or are you pleasantly surprised? I hope you are all pleasantly surprised. :goodvibes

I got all 5 round trip flights for $791! Though I had 50,000 points to use lol but my brother and his gf bought theirs and paid $640 RT so not too bad at $152 pp per way. I did get 6am depart and 8pm return flight...great times!!!!:goodvibes

Good morning!!!
Another quick question: My flight comes in at 4:04 in the afternoon, I have O'hana booked for 8pm. I know flights can be delayed and there is no way of knowing if that will happen, but do you think a 8pm dinner reservation would work. We are staying at All Star Sports. They have an 8:45 available too. We are hoping to see the 10pm wishes from poly beach after. Thanks again.

I would switch! Just in case! If it gets in sooner, you have some time to look around the Poly :goodvibes

Thanks, mommyof3princess!! I think I am leaning on switching to the later time, it would be unfortunate to miss that reservation. My only other concern is do you think if we eat at 8:45, we could still hit poly beach in time for the 10pm fireworks show? I would love to get a picture with my kids on the beach with the fireworks reflecting off the water. I saw someone else with a picture like that and it was beautiful!!!

You could always keep the 8pm but it would be unfortunate to miss it. The later time you may not make the whole FW show.. you may miss a little

Can someone fill me in on what's so bad about Chef Mickey? I've never been there before, but read so many bad reviews.. is it the food? The service? What?

I was thinking about going there this trip since we've never gone before, but am worried about all of the awful reviews... :confused3

Chef Mickey's is a must for us!! We just love it :) We started it on our very first trip to Disney back in the 70's and its among the first places we go when we return to Disney- its like our family tradition. The food to us is good- not gourmet or even in comparison with some of the other fine places to eat but its just the overall Disney atmosphere that we love so much. Our kids who are now 22 and 15 always remember their first trip to disney and our first disney meal at WDW Chef Mickey's!! We also aren't fancy people either but some places are just plain special to us and this is one of them. Hope it helps.

Aghhhh!!!:rotfl: Decisions are so hard!! Although, I'm having a blast with all the planning, wouldn't it be great if someone made all the hard decisions for us.....

I'm now even more sure about our decision to drive! SW would be $1600 for 4 round trip, not even good times or non-stop! Thats double what we usually pay. Driving will cost us just1/4 of that (including renting a car!). I will watch in Oct, thats when prices take a major nose dive we found (at 6 weeks out).

Thats great!! You must be really pleased with your return flight. :thumbsup2:woohoo:

How is it going for the rest of you? Pleased with times?

We had breakfast on our first trip 3 years ago and loved it but when we had dinner there last year, we thought the food was just ok and the character interaction was very minimal. The characters were basically running from one table to the next.

Having said that, I think CM is one of those places that you should try at least once.

The fares are slightly higher than I expected so I'm going to hold off booking for now as I'm pretty sure the fares will go on sale later.

I'm lovving that 8pm return.

Wow, you have what........ 14 - 15 hour drive?

I don't think fares will come down. In fact I expect the fares(for my flights) to get sold out.

Well, the SW prices are exactly the same as Jetblue and Jetblue always wins that contest because of the TVs, BUT.. SW would get us to Orlando FIVE hours earlier than Jetblue on arrival day.. so I'm tempted to take SW into Orlando, but Jetblue back home since the flight times are about the same. Now, to avoid a mutiny from my JB-with-the-TV-loving kids! ;)

And thank you for all of the feedback regarding Chef Mickey. I hope we get lucky and are there on an "ON" day.. if you know what I mean!
