After many unsuccessful tries, I was able to log-in and book dinner at Crystal Palace on Thanksgiving. LOL Not exactly my first choice. I know MK will be very crowded and had not planned on going there at all that day. But I need a child friendly buffet meal for a very picky eater. I know many restaurants will have special menus that day as well as adding/extending lunch and dinner hours. So I'm ggod for the time being.

Didn't anyone one else book Thanksgiving?? Would like to know what you got!

If you were wanting to avoid MK on Thanksgiving, you could look at Garden Grove at the Swan. The character meal is cute, and they have a great spread for the kids. My picky eater loved it!

:crazy2::sad::scared::faint::bitelip::hyper::furious: So here I sit, at 6:57am, having tried foe the past 57 minutes to book my ADRs online and I CAN'T! When I try to link my dining plan to do the 180+10, it says "Please continue to search and book available Dining locations online without associating your dining plan. We were unable to link your resort Reservation to dining reservations."

ARGH!!!!:furious::hyper::bitelip::sad::crazy2:

Just made my dining reservations. Did almost everything online at 6 am and everything went smoothly except for CRT for Nov 21st and our Thanksgiving dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe. No matter what times I selected nothing was coming up. I even called at 7 am and they couldn't get anything. So I guess I am going to have to keep trying until it works. :scared:

It was extremely slow for a little while early this morning. Took me forever to book 1900 Park Fare. Every time I entered something for the credit card info it would take at least a minute to update. When I finally hit confirm reservation nothing happened for 5 minutes. So I logged completely off and logged back in and it worked perfectly. About 1:30 PM I decided to get back on to check Thanksgiving Day again and now it won't even let me enter my resort reservation number.

Starting to wonder about Thanksgiving. So many people are having problems with Tusker House and F! packages. All of the places that I looked at for dinner had no availability at any dinner time. Even tried different nymber of people to see if something would come up. Is it possible that some of these restaurants haven't been loaded into the sytem yet? Yesterday was the 180+10 mark for Thanksgiving.

I am wondering the same thing about Thanksgiving. No matter what time I requested or party size I entered nothing would come up. I wonder if some of the restaurants for Thanksgiving are not coming up under the 180+10 mark. Going to try again tomorrow and see if anything changes. If not may need to wait exactly 180 days.

Anyone considering NOT going if airfares do not go down?
For myself & my son from Dallas TX, each year it averages between $400-$500
total round trip for BOTH of us.
But this year, it is averaging approximately $800 or more total.............
That is just too steep for me?
Other's looking at the same problem & re-thinking not going this year?
Just curious...........

I'm sorry that you had difficulty! I am not a morning person AT ALL so I would have lost my mind......I hope that you have it worked out now
::yes::
I have never made ADR's before, so how does the system typically 'link' the dining reservations to your current reservation. Do you put in your confirmation number or sign in or......??? :confused3

Hey ya'll. :goodvibes

I have a question .....I'm assuming that most of us are hoping Be Our Guest resturant is open by our trips. Since we obviously can't make reservations now. What are ya'll doing? Booking something else in that spot? Or just leaving that spot vacant until reservations open? I'm sitting here still working on my list and it hit me that we can't even try for those reservations yet and we have no guarantee that the resturant will even be taking reservations for our trip times.

We are only about 7 hours away so we drive. I do hope this works out for you. :goodvibes

Just read on Facebook that the summer free dining has been extended There goes our fall promo for now if that's true :(

Oh know.
But if they are extending FD for summer.....I wonder if this means reservations are down?

Definately go ahead and book something else :)

Fantasmic packages aren't showing up yet for November so I did SciFi just in case

Although I had Cape May(mk closes at 7 so we have a late dinner planned) and Chef mickey's on our MK days......I'm not sure i want to cancel those......hmmmmmmm.......guess I'd cancel Chef Mickey's

We have decided to drive from NJ instead of flying because of the obscene fares from PHL. I asked my Mom if we could borrow her mini-van. She said sure then a week later she went out and bought a brand new mini-van with 2nd row captain's chairs (her old one had a bench), built in DVD player, roof rack, and other bells and whistles her older van did not have. She said the dealership called her and offered her a deal to buy back hers so it was a sign to get a new one that we would be more comfortable in for our 17 hour drive. Love her!!!

We also officially made our switch to the Old Faithful Club at Wilderness Lodge for our 8 night stay. I don't think I have to change my dining around because we still want to do O'hana but I will likely drop our Kona res.

Now DD and DH are trying to add another night to our trip because they want to see Smashmouth at Epcot on the 11th. Who am I to argue with an extra night in the world but it would take the place of staying in a hotel on our way home. We will have to drive straight through.

I booked a diff rest. for that night that we like, if we get to switch to BEG, we will be thrilled, if not, we will be just as happy to eat at a rest that we are sure to love and wont be disappointed...was afraid to leave it open-ended with nothing in case BEG doesnt open in time!

Well, we won't cancel, but it did cause us not to take a short summer vaca...we were planning on going somewhere this summer too, if we could swing both trips, but the airfare everywhere is so high, we ditched the summer plans. We don't usually take a summer one thats far enough to fly to, but this year we had decided to take the plunge and do it--after crunching #s it was just too ridiculous!!! So,if we go anywhere it'll be close enough to drive to in one day...
Hope they come down for all of us, but I really hope you can swing it somehow no matter what! I know you are looking forward to this for you and your son!

I like the way you think! I think if we extend our stay by one night that we will pack up from WL on Sunday the 11th and move to Beach Club for one night so DH and DD can walk to/from Epcot and DS and I can try out Stormalong Bay. We will just leave the car all packed and head out early Monday morning.

Woe.......... I LOVE Disneyworld, but I am not the "roadtrip" kind of gal. I would be out of my mind if I had to drive 17 hours anywhere. We recently drove to Austin from Dallas in June 2011 & that drove me nuts, it was about 3-4 hours & I HATED it !!!!!

Sounds like you will have a sweet ride with all those bells & whistles, but it would take more than that for me, especially since I would be the one driving. :crazy2:

Have fun, I will just have to keep checking on airfares & hope they will go down. Keeping my fingers crossed !!!

Thank you !!!! Good thoughts & wishes to you as well !!!

Hoping those airfares drop !!!!:surfweb:

I felt the same way about driving. We did it before but we had an RV for that trip so it wasn't bad at all. I'm sure there will be some points where I want to rip my hair out but it's all in the name of Disney:) DH is a police officer and he works from 6pm-6am driving a patrol car so he seems to think this won't be a problem for him. We are going to drive through the night and hopefully the kids will sleep. The only other benefit is that I can pack everything I want to pack without worrying about weight limits or baggage fees. I'm the type that likes to be prepared every possible situation so I tend to overpack...a lot.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you that the fares will drop.
