NOVEMBER 2012 Trip Planners Part 2~yes there IS another!

Life is sooo busy that I am NOT having time to plan my disney trip like I want to!! I had a question,...I think LaDonna posted about pre-booking then expecting a discount, has anyone else had that experience? Or heard/read that anywhere? Just curious,...never thought of it that way before---the last several years I have done it like this. You know, booked then changed up the ressie when a code/discount came out. Also, I like to have that longer time frame to pay down the trip!!!

That's what we were going to do, but decided against it... We booked our split stay at CSR/POR. We were hoping to book CSR/POLY, but can't do that unless a discount comes out. So, to have our reservations, we picked a hotel that we would be happy with if we ended up staying there instead of the POLY, so POR in a Royal Room it was. We figured that the less expensive hotels would book up quicker, especially with discounts, so that's another reason we booked POR to start off.

Still hoping for a discount so we can move, but if not, POR looks really nice, and so do the new rooms. If/when a discount comes out, I'll either switch to the POLY, or just have them apply it to our existing reservations.

Now that party dates are official we know that we will definitely be attending the Nov 15th party. I highly doubt that one will be a sell out so I am considering waiting to order tickets. Do you guys think there is any chance it will sell out?

this was our plan as well. We went ahead and booked the trip we could live with if NO discounts come out and we will go from there if and when we get a discount.

Well, it took a while, as their CC systems were a little weird, but they finally got our MVMCP tickets taken care of

We are going both on:
Friday 11/9 and Monday 11/12

:thumbsup2 Looks good ::yes::

Good news everyone!!! :hyper: MVMCP tickets are ON SALE NOW! :woohoo: :dance3:  :cool1: :bitelip:

I just called to get my MNSSHP tickets and asked about the MVMCP tickets and was told they were also on sale, so just like that I have my tickets! :wizard: And here I didn't think they would go on sale today...silly me

Also, $78 flights?! I sooo wish I could get a flight for that one day...would be on :cloud9: Getting flights for $400 is a deal for me. I hate how much flights cost :(

I get to make my ADR's tomorrow though! :yay: I don't have many I want to make just yet, and the ones I want to make are for the more "obscure" places - Whispering Canyon Cafe, Tusker House, Kona Cafe, Teppan Edo, and Saana - so I don't see me having any problems getting what I want.

Re: are we making stuff...I plan on making LGMH pins for my backpack rather than just use the paint chips...I figure this way they'll last a little longer  Once I get around to making mine, I might see if other people could be interested in them...if they end up turning out okay :rolleyes1

Re: EMH's...I use them all the time, and have no problems. I usually end up park hopping most days though, so if a park has EMH in the morning, I'll start out there and then end up in another park, or vice versa if the park has night EMH.

Wow, this has been one long post...apparently I need to check up here more often

:thumbsup2 Lucky you to get ADR's tomorrow! :hyper:

I have heard this too. I always book and wait for a code. I guess if it was just my family it would work but with 11 of us all wanting to be together, I hope it works out this way :hyper:

Im in a RGR too :lovestruc I am excited I love POR :hyper:

I am not sure. Its a friday right? If so it might(maybe not right away though) because many locals go on friday nights

WOW :thumbsup2 going to 2 parties! Next trip, I was thinking early Nov and do MNSSHP AND MVMCP

WOW :thumbsup2 going to 2 parties! Next trip, I was thinking early Nov and do MNSSHP AND MVMCP

We did the MNSSHP for our honeymoon in 2010 and loved the experience. Had we done it earlier in the trip, we might have scheduled a second one while there, but we did it towards the end and there were no others available before we left

Going back and forth with others about this in the Theme Parks thread, it was suggested if we could do it twice (not break the bank, etc), to do so, as not only will it allow for a more relaxing time since we will not be pressured to do everything all in one night; if we miss something the first time, we have a chance to catch it the second time, redo PhotoPass pictures, etc.

For the past 3 years my family and I (Hubby, 39, myself, 34,DD 7, and DD 6) have been to WDW stayed at Pop Century and taken advantage of the Free Dining Plan and LOVED every minute of all of our trips BUT this year we are changing things up a bit!

We will be staying off Disney at the Hilton SeaWorld for 2 weeks - 11/17 - 12/1. We have never stayed off site so I'm a little nervous to say the least.

We plan to visit WDW, as well as Universal, Islands of Adventure, SeaWorld, and possible Discovery Cove.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, including but not limited to:
Where should we dine for Thanksgiving?
Is Discovery Cove worth the $$?
How many days should we allow for Universal/Islands of Adventure?

We are WDW fans and plan to purchase an annual pass so we can spend the majority of our time at WDW parks but want to also try some new things out!

Hilton Seaworld 11/12
Pop Century 8/11
Pop Century 9/10
Pop Century 9/09
Off Site 5/00
Caribbean Beach 5/98

We haven't done discovery cove, but just did Universal for the first time in Feb With our 8 year old. How tall are your girls? If they are under 48" it is gonig to really limit what you can do at Universal. My DD8 is small for her age and has been 48" less than a year. Even a t that height she couldn't go on the biggest coasters they are 52" and 54". If your girls are smaller I would say one day for each park, unless you want to ride the headliners without them. If that is the case you might want a 3rd day, especially around Thanksgiving.

Where to eat at Thanksgiving depends on where you will be and what you want. For a traditional Thanksgiving meal in WDW Liberty Tree and Whispering Canyon are good choices. We wanted something other thna the traditional when we were there. We did La Hacienda Thanksgiving day last trip and watched Illuminations while we ate. We have done Coral Reef as well.

Probably not, I'm sure most people don't even know the tickets are on sale. I think you should be good for awhile and dates that early in the season normally don't sell out (except maybe the Fri before Thanksgiving and Sun after). We are also waiting to buy, just until we book our ADRs (2wks). I have 2 choices I'm looking at for party dates but I want to make sure I can get the ADRs for those dates before buying and wishing I had chose differently.

Ugh... I was afraid of this. Woke up at 3am to make my reservations, waited until I could book my first day to know the system switched over to 180 aaaaand.. can't go any further. It has my reservation in there, it will take my conf # but then STILL not let me do my +10! Now I have to stay awake until 4am to talk to someone on the phone to try and get it resolved while everyone who is able to go online starts nabbing all the availability. I could just cry, I don't know which part is worse, how exhausted I will be all day or knowing that this hour may cost me reservations! :faint:

I even tried just booking a one night regular reservation thinking it might be because I'm staying on rented points, but it will not take that # either, so I'll have to make sure I have them cancel it right away.

Were you able to work it out with your ADRs? We are renting DVC as well, so I am curious. popcorn::

Thanks!
