November 2012 Trip planners #4~almost Disney time! Everyone welcome!

Thanks for asking. The pain is much more manageable. What a difference a week makes.

I just spoke with apple yesterday since we need to rent an ECV now and I specificaly asked if they could drop it off at bell services and he told me that they can. I haven't booked anything yet. I plan on calling today to finalize and I will make sure to double check on this.
i saw that on FB and I think apple was one... i will double check

ETA: Buena Vista, Apple and Walker should be okay

We were discussing this on another thread I'm on and I was wondering about all of you. Namely, what do you do for Thanksgiving? Do you cook? go to relative's? Will you be in Disney??? Give us the details!

We live far away from all of our family, so most years it's just us 3. DD doesn't eat turkey, so we do non-traditional Tgiving dinners. I cook a different ethnic cuisine each year- we have done Greek, Middle Eastern, Thai, and Peruvian, among others.

This year, we are going to make DD sad and have turkey (we will also make chicken or salmon for her). DH got a smoker this summer, and we are going to smoke the whole turkey.

Yup, I just spoke with Alex from Apple and he confirmed that they are on the approved vendors list.

However, regarding the same policy for strollers, BRU Travel rentals told me that this will not go into effect for another several months.

Whew! We rented our stroller from Kingdom Strollers and I don't want to have any trouble.

This Thanksgiving we will have a quiet dinner since most of our family is out of state. I usually cook a turkey and my girls help me with the side dishes. Dh would like to eat out for Thanksgiving this year. It will be a super busy time. Thanksgiving, Black Friday, 6 performances of the Nutcracker for 2 of my kids on Fri, Sat and Sun. We then leave Monday for our trip. I'm going to be totally stressed out, LOL!!!

Check with your local major grocery stores. Some of them have full Thanksgiving dinners already prepared that you just have to heat up at home.Just have to order ahead of time and tell them what time you want to pick it up. I did that last year due to lack of time, and it worked out great, AND we still had the leftovers!;)

I was just looking over some menu's for places that we have not yet tried and saw a PEANUT BUTTER & JELLY SHAKE being served at the Prime Time. :scratchin

Has anyone ever tried this or know of any other places in WDW that might sell them? Sounds weird to me, but I think DS8 would love to try it. He is a PB&J freak!

What are some Disney goodies you are taking for the kiddos?

I saw at Target yesterday, in the bedding dept. They had Tinkerbell pillows (looks like a doll) on Clearance for $5 :thumbsup2

I have been looking for little things for my boys and so far have only come up
with the fleece blankets that Disney store has on sale.

I got my kids a fleece blanket with their names on them for the trip. This weekend we're going to try to find some more stuff for them. It is kinda of hard because they don't know we are going and they have to go with us shopping because we have no one to watch them:(.

I haven't had the PB&J shake, but their chocolate shake is wonderful. It's the real deal and if you get the large, they bring out the metal container they make it in and you get two servings! I'm sure if your DS loves PB&J, he'll love the one at Prime Time! Let us know.;)

We aren't going to Prime Time, that's why I'm wondering if they are available anywhere else. :( hopefully, they do!

We found a bunch of neat things for boys and girls at Party City. Depends on the age range but our girls are 7 & 4 and like pretty much all of the Disney catalog so we got a bunch of stuff from Cars & Toy Story as well the usual suspects of Princesses and Fairies. They had coloring books and those rubber band bracelet things and little games and stuff that lights up and temporary tattoos and more.

I think they have the same stuff online that they do in the store as well.

I just thought about pirate stuff and cowboy stuff too as possibilities.

Since we will be in Disney for Thanksgiving we are going to have Epcot Turkey Legs and some sides from around the world :)

Speaking of food I need to place our grocery order so it's there when we arrive. :cool1:

Hoping my MFMM comes today!:goodvibes Anyway.... so last week i started with tingling in my hands and wrists then it slowly moved up my arms and i went to the er on saturday because it was from my neck down.... I am scared no one knows what its from or why it is there... ACK!!!!!!!! Im going back to the dr today:sad2: :sad1:

I'm so sorry this is going on. I hope they figure it out before your trip.

Hi everyone! My name is Jessica and we will be staying at the poly from 11/9-11/13. Please add me.

Our twin boys will be turning 4 on the 11th and thought this trip would be a great birthday surprise. One of my boys has autism, anyone here travelled or will be travelling with a special needs child? I would love to hear any tips you have. I know there is a disabilites board, but was just curious if anyone was going around the same time as us.

:wave2:

:guilty:so ive determined im going to hell

i decided that today i would tell my mom because i cant put it off any longer,
i see she called so on my lunch i call her back to shoot the breeze and talk to her one more time before i break the news.

She tells me she just got home from the doctors and they found a lump...now what do do!!! i cant tell the woman now

So sorry to hear this. My mom had a lump and everything was fine. I pray the same for your mom.

In our family, my Mom and I switched roles years ago, so she makes the pies and I make the dinner. Three of our four children live out of state and two of those and their families are coming to Ohio for TG. Our DS who lives in Ohio is coming this year as well. We get the kids every other year for Christmas and the opposite year for TG. DH will be smoking a small turkey on his manly, state of the art, grill, while I do the traditional turkey with dressing in the oven. Sometimes my sister from Texas comes, but not this year.

Then 6 days later...we'll be at DISNEY!!!

I cook the traditional turkey dinner for my family. We have 3 grown children and 2 of them will be able to be here this Thanksgiving. Unfortunately none of them can come to Disney this year. My oldest was prepared to come but he has a new job opportunity and didn't want to lose it. I can't blame him. Now I have to ride the rollercoasters with dd and I'm not looking forward to that. Ha Ha!

My DH loves the turkey legs and usually gets one when we're in HS. Getting yours at Epcot with sides around the world sounds like a great plan!

Who do you use for groceries? It will be our first time getting some, so I would appreciate a referral!
TIA
