November 2012 Trip planners #4~almost Disney time! Everyone welcome!

Is anyone planning on swimming? With the average high being 78 I'm concerned it might be a little chilly. My blood has thinned living in Texas for sure.

We live in Northern Ontario Canada, My kids are in the water as early as they can in the spring.. this year the lake was 53F and my oldest dd was in swimming.

78f is hot for us :) :rotfl2:

We are from Boston and are flying in nov 8 late. We are staying at akl and are dvc members. We leave on the 16th. We have fantastic fri, cinderellas table and bibbidi bop pity boutique on sat (trying to reschedule tho cuz crowd prediction is a 9 out of 10). We do the sunrise safari on Sunday and the safari at akl on thurs. also trying to go to dis outlets and sea world.....am going w dd 10 ds 6 and dh. I have 2 meals a day scdeduled every day so think I went overboard. Thanks for the feedback on coolers! Any feedback on groceries? How many days do people generally do each park?:goodvibes

Typically I've done a park a day with extra days (or time if we are hopping) spent at MK. Last trip we skipped Epcot completely and a previous trip we skipped World Showcase due to inclement weather. AK closes early so this year we will go to DTD after since we aren't hopping this year. Epcot is a must this year since we have done some international traveling since our last visit so seeing the different areas is of interest to us, plus we love P & F so we want to do Agent P. DHS will be a big part of the trip this year because of the Osborne Family Lights display. My wife and I have seen that before, but the kids have not.

We missed TSM last time because it was new and it was an absolute zoo so we are wanting to do rope drop fast passes for that. Soarin and the rest of Epcot is on the list if things to do. In all of my trips I have yet to do space mountain due to time, weather, ride maintenance, etc, so I'd like to do that this time. DD2 will be bigger than last time so getting her on some things she couldn't last time, like Splash Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, etc.

No MM for us yesterday, but I expect it at any time.

I talked with the wife about the tie dye shirts and she did something similar, although not Disney themed, so she knows the technique already. I think it will be a neat surprise for the girls.

Hope everyone has an awesome day!

For anyone interested in going to La Nouba if you join the Cirque Club online (Free) then you can purchase category (2) tickets most shows through Mid December for just $53.25..almost half off...just got mine for 11/7...

We will be staying at the Poly Nov 14-18th. We have ADRs at 'Ohana, Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's. Is that too many character meals for our short stay? This is our first family trip to Disney World, our boys are 10 and 3.

We are only staying 3 days and have 4 character meals. It's our kids first time too, that's why I booked 4. They are 8 and by the next time we are able to go cm's may not be as big of deal to them.

Crystal Palace the day when we are in MK and Chef Mickey's that night when MK closes (closing early that night). Early breakfast at 'Ohana, then dinner at Akershus while at Epcot. I tried to be somewhat time efficient with ADRs. Not too much hopping around.

It's a short trip, but hoping to see/do a little of everything!

We'll be at the Poly at the same time! My DS is 10 and my DD is 12. We have 2 character meals planned. 'Ohana on the 15th and Lunch at Tuskers on the 16th. My kids are getting old enough that the characters are not such a big deal. Our last trip was when DS was 4 and DD was 6. It was a BIG deal that trip.

My opinion is if you're going to sit down for the meals, then why not have the characters there ?!? Especially with your little one.

Good luck! We might bump into you at the pool :)

You can never have too many character meals... IMO :goodvibes

Great choices!!! :thumbsup2

WOW!!

So for months and months I would get the Disney Visa offers and pitch them. Don't need another credit card THANKYOUVERYMUCH!

But then on a spur of the moment we decided to book this trip
and that day we got another offer so of course I looked at it

No APR for first year, $200 gift card after first $500 charged (Hello trip)

Needless to say Hubby was skeptical....

Well that was 3 weeks ago, and now here I sit with a $200 gift card, and $80 already in Disney rewards. With a month (another billing cycle) to go.

$300 FREE (sorta kinda- shh don't break my happy bubble ;).....

I'm so stinkin excited!

I agree that Character Meals are awesome :thumbsup2

Our last trip we did almost all CMs and they were a great break for the kids plus a way to get autographs without standing in 95 degree heat with 100% humidity (we went in September)

Sorry, I didn't mean for that to be 'showing off"

Just so excited I took a chance and it is paying off

I'm really not a fan of credit cards because by and large they are misused by both banks and consumers. Banks by allowing people to spend more than they can afford and by consumers by spending more than they can afford.

(gets off of soapbox)

That being said, there are situations where credit cards can be used responsibly and perks can be awarded. The Disney card is one of those. We use ours for our monthly bills that are drafted each month. We pay them as they come in and earn the Disney Dollars as a result. We'll have earned over $300 in Disney Dollars by the time the trip starts. We've used part of that already to purchase our PP+, so again, it's like getting it for free. We also get 10% off of purchases of $50 or more at the Disney Store, parks and disneystore.com. :thumbsup2 It's a small savings of course, but it will be handy on this trip. It also gets us into the M&G at Epcot for cardmembers. All in all a great card to have for Disney fans.
