November 2012 Trip planners #4~almost Disney time! Everyone welcome!

It is a nice feeling to have it all paid off, that is for sure.

Oh my goodness!!! YES!! :rotfl:The next 80 days is pure anticipation without any $$$ concerns clouding anything. Even the valet parking has its own full little envelope. ::yes::

What number do I call to put a request in for a specific longhouse at the Poly? Also, do you know if there are elevators? Thanks!!

Are you going to Epcot for F&W that day? If so, I don't think I would do Fulton's that night unless you really like to put it away... :scratchin

We are going to Epcot for Epcot. We did Food & Wine in 2010, and while we will probably browse & sample the different booths, it is not our main attraction that day, which is why we are avoiding the weekend, as we know what that gets like with F&W, LOL

Ack! My mother-in-law just got a job and now she may be coming with us! :rotfl:

We're not sure if she's coming alone or if my father-in-law may be coming as well. :confused3

If she's coming alone it'll be about $1700 for her to get a room at Pop, as the AoA LM rooms are sold out for the dates we're going to be there. She'd at least be close enough for us to pick her up or for her to walk over to AoA to ride along with us.

Another option would be to upgrade to a suite at AoA for about $1500 extra. Probably would go Cars since Nemo is sold out and my girls LOVE Cars.

Then the next challenge would be to add someone to our ADRs. Is that difficult or just a matter of calling up the hotline and having them add one or two more people? Anyone found situations where they couldn't add someone?

Yes, but it entirely depends on when and where they are. I wouldn't wait for a definite - I'd call and inquire about adding two now since it will be easier to subtract and that would give you an instant idea of where you may have trouble. A larger party sounds fun!

Starting to get upset with additional attraction closures during our trip at the end of November. My kids love the Honey I shrunk the Kids play set. It is now closed thru November 30. The studio backlot tour is also closed thru November 30.

I just checked the site and it states that they'll be closed november 1st-16th...I was getting scared, I thought we were gonna miss them! =)

The kids will love having their grandparents there for sure. :thumbsup2 My mom joined us for our last trip and that made their day. We're going to try to work out some details tonight and see what the plan is. We have a few ressies that are hard to come by, so it may be a challenge to get them in with us. We have a F! H&V dinner, Thanksgiving dinner at CRT, an Ohana breakfast and a Chef Mickey's dinner too. Going to need pixie dust for that I'm sure!

Regardless the blessing to it all is that my mother-in-law got a new job after being laid off for 6 months, so we'll work out whatever comes of it. :cool1:

I packed two suitcases yesterday...they are small ones, but they're packed!

Yipee!!:cool1:

Yes, we are doing 2 MVMCPs. I think had I known better last time, we would have done 2 MNSSHP in 2010, having been our first time. This gives us an extra shot in case we miss characters for photos, etc

I guess you kind of nailed one of my concerns on the head. Yes, it looks good for our schedule, but are we pushing ourselves too hard that Thursday by trying to do Epcot and then get over to DTD all in the same day, and at that point, will we enjoy our meal?

It is doable, for sure. But with so many great places to eat at Epcot and the nearby resorts, maybe choosing one of those would better suit your needs. I just read about a place I hadn't heard of before that I would love to try. It is on the dining plan, but they don't take advanced ressies. Crazy, I know. It's the Big River Grill and Brewery at the Boardwalk. Here's a link for the menu: http://allears.net/menu/menu_brg.htm
Also Cape May at the Beach Club is wonderful.

Just paid the trip off!!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:
Nine glorious nights w/DxDP at the WL is ours......all ours!!:banana::banana:
IT. IS. ALL. DONE!! Everything we need for this trip is DONE!!!!!:banana::banana:

Good for you!! I'm keeping my money right where it is until my 45 days:rotfl: But I know what a great feeling it is to pay it off. Yay!:cool1:

Shhh, those of us going early are! :badpc:

Aww, sorry you'll miss some things. Must mean it's time to plan your next trip. ::yes:: There will always be something down. I remember when we went for my birthday in November 2003 and RnRc was down. I love that ride! I went by anyway each day we were at HS just in case they opened early. It was to open the day we left! I suspect DH was relieved it was closed.:rotfl2:

That's a bummer about the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area, that was one thing there that we were really looking forward to, I guess there's always next trip but right now our HS itinerary is looking pretty thin...:confused3

I have to admit, I was bummed about a few things (no free dining, no "room only" discount on our days/resort, no BOG or Fantasy Land expansion, just to name a few) but now I'm getting ANGRY!!! I was so excited for the girls to play there!!!

I have to keep reminding myself that they won't have any idea what they are missing, and I haven't mentioned ANY of these missed discounts to H, haha.

I almost wish I was in the dark and didn't know just how much we're missing out on... oh well, I'm wiser for the next time...

i agree,im feeling really disappointed. this might be our only trip down there for a long time and we are going to miss so much. :(

I know how you feel on the discounts. The days we're going are blacked out with the FD, the room discounts, airline miles, plus our room choice at AoA LM is excluded from what discounts there are on other dates. I feel fortunate that we booked our trip before the prices went up so we're getting a pretty awesome deal, even without discounts. Fantasyland will be closed while we are there but we may see some soft openings. The other thing that will be closed is the Test Track at Epcot, which I've yet to try because on previous trips either it was closed for maintenance, weather or we didn't go to Epcot. The Honey I Shrunk the Audience movie closing is also a bit of a bummer. While I know the movie series is very old and that probably needed refreshing, the 3D movies were a lot of fun and that's one less thing to do at Epcot.

All of that being said, the new Agent P World Showcase will be fun, as will the Phineas and Ferb Meet & Greet and the Phineas and Ferb interactive at DTD. (our girls love P&F) We're going to do a lot of stuff we didn't do last time, including Ohana, F!, fireworks at Epcot and more. The wonderful thing about going to The World to see The Mouse is that there is always something new and exciting to see and do! That's the same reason my wife and I love going to Las Vegas. It's nearly impossible to see/do everything there and it gives you a reason to go back.

Like any of us need a reason to go back right? :thumbsup2

Thats what I told DH...... i said the ADR's and discounts and planing EMH... it was easier when I knew nothing and gave all control to the CL people at the Poly!
