I want to eat there just to see the resturant. I am not loving the menu though. So I just don't know what we are doing. Going to have to give it some serious thought over the weekend. If I didn't love our ADR line up I wouldn't be so torn.

Just who are we all trying to kid...................We are all going to go after ADRs. :lmao::lmao::lmao::rotfl:

did you see the final menu? It looks ok. http://www.**************.net/2012/...uty-and-the-beast-section-of-new-fantasyland/ I just wanna eat there! I think if we do this, we will do it instead of the dessert party

Happy Friday everyone!! It is getting so close i can feel it. i kinda wish it would slow down a little, i still have alot to do to be ready and i dont want it to be over. :lmao:

Sounds wonderful! You will have a great time- I am jealous that you get to stay at AKL. There is a lot to do and see there- it will be nice to really take time to enjoy the resort.

We love AKL. That is where we are staying as well. They have such great resort activities like movies by theool at night, animal activities, marshmallow roasting and if you are into hidden Mickey's there are tons of great ones to find while there. We love this resort and our kids do too. Hope you have a blast taking it all in.

thank you both I have a breakfast and a dinner at Boma that I am super excited about also.

So our trip ends Monday November 12th. We do not have park hoppers and are spending that day at H.S. and intend to enjoy Osborne Lights until close at 8pm. I need suggestions on a great dinner to wrap up the trip. This is our first trip so I have no personal basis for opinion but it seems like most feel H.S. lacks in real good dinner options.....so should we dine at H.S. or go to downtown Disney or back to Wilderness Lodge....we are already eating at Kat Cora's Kouzinas on the day we arrive....

Im assuming you want to have a later dinner after the park closes. I would head to Wolfgang Pucks at DD.

So, even though it only saves us $212 and we actually lose a park day, I think we're making the switch to the military discount instead of FD. We'll have 2 park days, 1 day "off", and then 2 more park days. This way maybe my kids won't get burnt out and we can actually relax a little. And since we're making that switch, we're looking into switching from POP to AoA LM. For some odd reason, all this time I've only paid any attention to AoA having suites and completely overlooked the regular LM rooms! It ends up being $50 total to switch from POP, so if all goes according to plan, by Monday I'll have made my final changes to this trip... Hopefully... hehe

We discoverd the hard way that the room discount is always the better deal. Last year we booked under a %35 that was offered for date till the end of sept. My DH didnt want to go back in Sept this year he was miserable hot last year. So we decided to wait for fall FD. Long story short this years trip is costing us more then twice what last years did. So good idea.

So I am switching my schedule around to drop MM in favor of BOG(on our arrival night. I have moved T-Rex from our arrival night to Fi nov 30th, moved 50's from nov 30th to nov 26th where we currently have MM...which will ultimately get booted if we get BOG. The only thing that worries me about that is the line to get into F!

I dropped MM also in favor of a Boma breakfast. I think we will be happer. Plus Im not sure we are going to try to see F!. My kids are unpredicable at that hour especially after touring a park all day.

So I've just read both menus for BoG and I'm kind of leaning towards the lunch menu. It just looks more appealing to me. So if that's the case, I guess I don't need to worry about Monday! Of course, I'm going to be reading and rereading the menus all weekend just to second guess myself ahhhhh!

So if you're leaning towards lunch, why do you need to call? Isn't it a CS meal? I'm confused?? ;-)

Had a horrible set of days here the past week. Both kids are in camp this week and so far except for the first day Abbie has cried her head off when I drop her off. Not looking forward to her starting school in September. :(

Also DH and DMIL had a HUGE fight last night and are currently not speaking. I really hope they resolve it soon since we're all going to Disney together. :crazy2: :headache:

Regarding the Dessert Party... This is what I remember from when we did it in July 2010 (4th of July week)!! Things may have changed (my disclaimer)...
I remember that the earlier you signed up the better seats you were assigned. There was no time specific check-in. I'm pretty sure everyone was given the same time to check-in. There were quite a few people in line when we went the check-in area. I signed up for the dessert party when the dates were released and the table we were assigned to was in the front row off towards the right side of the castle (looking at the castle). So it seemed like there was correlation between when you booked and where your seat was located. That being said, before the fireworks started people who were seated in the back moved to the railing and stood there to watch the fireworks!! So at that point it didn't matter that we had first row seats. I do remember that we remained in our seats and we were able to see the fireworks well. I don't remember if the people moved to the side but I think some pulled up chairs. I remember the CM's not digging the whole pull your chair up to the railing. I liked the whole dessert party for the simple reason that in all my trips I have never seen Wishes from the front side of the castle. I have been all over the park to see them and one thing on my Disney bucket list was to see the fireworks from the front, they way it was intended! The desserts were very good and plentiful. Lots to eat and drink. You could never eat enough desserts to equal the cost but the experience was well worth it. It made us slow down and appreciate the fireworks. We have since been back and walked by the dessert party and I've wanted to do it again. DH and DS may not echo my feelings, but usually with these types of special events I don't ask, I just book it and hope they don't mind giving up those few precious hours to chill out and enjoy the magic of the Magic Kingdom.
Hope this helps...
Debbie
this was our experience too- we booked immediately when ressies opened and we had the best tables in the house (party of 12). it was awesome! they had everyone checking in at the same time, but I hear sometimes they stagger it now. Ours was in 2009 (Dec) and they did not let people pull chairs or tables up to the railings or stand at the railing (except small children). not sure they enforce that still or not.

Since changing to AKL I decided we needed to change the tone of this trip from kiddo-palooooza to family R&R. So I cancled a few of my ADRS and booked a breakfast and a dinner at Boma. Hubby agreed since we are paying to stay at this amazing hotel we need to spend more time there. So we have commited to leaving the parks by 3 so we can spend the rest of the day at the resort. Something we would not have done when we were booked at AoA.
awesome! are you going to do the fire/storytelling thing? I'd love to do that sometime. Be sure and ask for the nightvision googles too, to see the animals at night. there is even a tour of the AKL they do for free i believe, telling you about the art etc.

What about heading over to Boardwalk area or trying Beaches and Cream?? share a kitchen sink for fun!

Same here. I think it looks better than the dinner menu. If I hadn't came to peace with our ADRs maybe it would be different.

Not sure what my descision is yet... I have 3 days to think about it. I may just snag one just in case then drop it in a month or so

This sounds like a nice relaxing trip. Our grown son and fiance will be with us the first 5 days so I told hubby the first part of the trip will be go go go and the last half we will slow down.

I vote for Cape May. It's yummy!

good morning everyone! I am at 100 days!!!!!! YAY!!!!

:cool1::woohoo:

We are still battling with the dessert party. Im gonna look over my schedule to see what I can cut to make i more relaxing :/

I wanted to do this but with 2 little ones I'm not sure how much night time entertainment we will get to see.

Good Morning everyone!!

We too are under 100 days as well and it feels awesome!! I can't wait till I can finally say, "leaving in the morning for Disney"!! I have been waiting for that for I can't tell you how long. Still lots more days but now that summer is winding down hopefully it will go by quicker.

So I drive to see my patient at the doctor's office yesterday 2 1/2hrs away!!! only to be told when I arrive that they cancelled the appt. 5 minutes ago as dr is still in surgery.....I was SOOOOO MAD!!!! I know driving is part of the job but come one! I had to drop Rachel off 3 hrs early for work at the beach because Sarah and DH went to Balto for day and I get there to find this out. I was so NOT Happy!!But on bright side, less real work to do I suppose. Today I have a teleconferance with my boss and another patient to see at 145pm but this time in Salisbury not as far away, thank goodness. This job is frustrating sometimes I tell you.

Rachel and I are going school shopping on Monday because she is working all weekend as the Dew Tour is in Ocean City MD and she works on 82nd street at a sub and pizza place- they have everyone working all weekend!! Its great for her because she will earn lots of money.

Well hope you all have a great day. I can't wait till Monday and to make our ADR with BOG!!

That stinks about having to drive so far. We will be down in you neck of the woods next weekend. We will be visiting Rehobeth beach.

Just who are we all trying to kid...................We are all going to go after ADRs. :lmao::lmao::lmao::rotfl:

I will be!!!!! Heres hoping we all get one!

Happy Friday everyone!! It is getting so close i can feel it. i kinda wish it would slow down a little, i still have alot to do to be ready and i dont want it to be over. :lmao:

Its funny I can't wait for november but then again I don't want to wish life away. We have 3 birthday parties before our trip so I'm trying to focus on the fun of planning those.

So sorry to hear this. I hope everything works out for all of you.
