We sleep late, relax, maybe do a little laundry (yes, I know it is an abomination to do laundry on vacation!), maybe visit DTD, have a late lunch/early dinner and then MVMCP. We aren't really early people on vacation anyway.

I have to say,..I do laundry EVERY trip...with 5 people and 7-9 days, I have quite a stack of dirty stuff piled up!! I bring a pop-up hamper and about the 5th day head to the guest laundry...makes packing it all back up so much easier!!

Ever hear the old saying "A Watched Pot Never Boils?" popcorn::

Well, I've been stalking my inbox waiting for a pin. :surfweb: Today, I was on the road and couldn't check my inbox religiously every 5 minutes.

When I get to my destination, lo and behold an email appears from Disney Destinations.:banana:

It was kinda disappointing though, it was only 20% deluxes and I havn't even checked the mods or values yet. :sad2:

Here's hoping that more pins keep coming for everyone!!:grouphug:

I've gotten a few pins this year so far but haven't checked them since were renting points. We might add on a day now though so I'm interested in these pins! Do I need to call? How did you check? Thanks!

Some experiences in the immediate vicinity of the Tree of Life at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park are currently closed while we inspect the tree and complete any necessary maintenance.

Reactive FAQ's:

Q. I heard one of the branches from the Tree of Life fell. Is this why the area is closed to Guests?
Yes, a small branch (weighing approximately five pounds) fell to the ground, away from Guests and Cast. In an abundance of caution, we are closing some experiences in the immediate vicinity of the Tree of Life as we further inspect it and complete any necessary maintenance.

Q. What caused the branch to fall? Was it weather related?
We are still reviewing the situation.

Q. What exactly will be closed while we inspect The Tree of Life?
The trails around the Tree of Life will be temporarily closed, as well as the "It's Tough to be a Bug" attraction and the Kid's Discovery Club location.

Q. When will the experiences around the Tree of Life reopen?
At this time we do not have a reopening date.
This looks like the official statement

Another question. (looks like I am focusing on everything but dining. :lmao:)

Have any of you done the Wild Afica Trek in AK? This looks like alot of fun!

Maybe once I get the rest of the trip planned I will be able to focus on dining. :rotfl:

For those of you who have done MVMCP or are planning to, what is your plan for that day until the party? I have read that most people, at least those with young children, make the morning a "resort day" or try to lay low before heading to MK around 4pm. This is one option I am seriously considering, however, I hate to feel like I'm not really utilizing 2 days out of our schedule (the day of and the day after the party as the kids will likely want to sleep in) for a party that is only a couple hours long. Does anyone go to a park that morning for a couple hours? What is your plan for the day of and the day after?

There weren't any children with us that trip, but it was our arrival day. We were supposed to arrive in MCO around 11:30-noon. We had planned on checking in to our hotel (POFQ) and then taking the DTD ferry for a bite to eat and some shopping, before heading over to the MK for MVMCP...well, plans are made to be changed, right? :confused3

Our flights were delayed...all of them (it was just 2, but still). We didn't end up getting into MCO until around 4-5, so by the time we got to the hotel and settled in it was time for us to head over to the party right away. We got there just as it was starting. We were lucky :worship: We could have missed the entire party, but we didn't...we learned our lesson that trip. Never book tickets for something on arrival night when flying, you just never know.

For our trip this year, we will probably go to a different park in the morning for a few hours, then go back to the resort for a little rest before heading to the party.

I havent but it looks interesting! I know some1 on here has though. I think I looked at pics :cutie:

We have never been to interested in tours and things. But for this trip I have been looking at what Disney has to offer outside of the parks.

I wanted to do the Wild Afrika Trek BUT it was gonna interfere with my Tusker House breakfast ressie soooooo I couldnt do it last trip. :lmao: This trip, we ill have everyone with us and THATS ALOT OF $$$$$ I am not sure if we could afford it this time.... maybe another DH and I solo trip is in order :rotfl:

LOL! It's pretty darn tempting!

And I thought you'd seen on MY trip report that I'm way behind on everyone's trip reports! :lmao: I had some deadlines and got behind on the DIS but plan to catch up in the next couple days.

You are forgiven! :lmao: Imagime life getting in the way of Disney talk!

There's candy waiting at MNSSHP and cookies at MVMCP for you....... :rolleyes1

Or maybe I should just say, lots of photo opportunities!

:rotfl2:I crack myself up!

I honestly think that it's because I play pretend on the website so much! I'm constantly pricing out vacations for different dates, different rooms, etc. That's the only thing I can think it would be! Maybe try that a few times and see what happens. Of course, we all know next year when I want to book something I won't get a single PIN! :lmao:

We generally rope drop MK on that day adn stay till about noon. It istypically dead on MVMCP mornings. We get in all of the headliners, Splash, thunder, space, ect and anything else we want to do, and then head back to the resort for lunch and a nap. We hit the park about 4 for the party and stay until closing. That way, we don't feel deprived if we don't make it onto a lot of rides during the party itself.

I never thought to bring a pop up hamper! What a great ! I'll have to add that to the list of what to bring. Thanks :thumbsup2

I believe that another DISer over on the Theme Parks board forums has been on the Fireworks Cruise. That was one of the things I inquired about last year over there and something we want to do.

Josh has updated the November Crowd Calendar and added his daily analysis for the first 15 days. :cheer2: :yay: :cheer2:
