For those of you who have done MVMCP or are planning to, what is your plan for that day until the party? I have read that most people, at least those with young children, make the morning a "resort day" or try to lay low before heading to MK around 4pm. This is one option I am seriously considering, however, I hate to feel like I'm not really utilizing 2 days out of our schedule (the day of and the day after the party as the kids will likely want to sleep in) for a party that is only a couple hours long. Does anyone go to a park that morning for a couple hours? What is your plan for the day of and the day after?

In the past we've just gone for it but we don't have kids with us... we never make it all the way to the end of the parties though. This year we are going to wake up a little later and have a nice breakfast then hit Typhoon Lagoon (MNSSHP so its a little earlier in the year), have tea at the Grand Floridian then go over to the party.

He only has the daily analysis for the first 15 days!!! He will probably have the rest up within the next couple days. There has only been a few changes to the actual crowd calendar (recommend/not recommend). On the 8th AK is now NOT recommended and on the 30th MK is now NOT recommended.

Have any of you done the Pirates fireworks cruise?

We did Pirates and Pals in 2010 and we really enjoyed it. It is basically a snack buffet on the dock at the contemporary with a Captian hook and Smee meet and greet. Then, you board one of 2 boats with you pirate captian and head out on the lagoon. They do songs, stories and games as you sail, and you see the EWP and wishes from the lake. Audio is piped in and views are amazing. Thne it is more of the smae back to the dock where you are met by Peter Pan for a meet and greet. We thought it was well worth the price, and we were encouraged to clean out the buffet. We took lots of pre-packaged snacks back with us becuase the CM's just insisted we "take what you can, leave none for the rest"

Well, I just got an e-mail from the Disney Itinerary Planners since I am now "Club Level" at WL, so I guess we need to finish plans sooner than later, LOL. Here is what I got so far. Let me know what you think

Weds. Nov 7th - Arrive to hotel around noon

No ADR planned, just winging it

Thurs. Nov 8th

ADR - Le Celliar for Lunch
ADR - Still thinking about dinner if needed

Fri. Nov 9th
Morning - AK
Evening - MK for MVMCP
ADR - Yak & Yeti (AK) for Lunch

Sat. Nov 10th
MK
ADR - Crystal Palace for an early dinner

Sun. Nov 11th

ADR - Mama Melrose for Fantasmic Lunch Package

Evening - MK for MVMCP
ADR - Coral Reef (Epcot) for Lunch

So the big question is, should I try to do the ADRs myself or see what these planners can do?

Well back from the Uro. I have to have a hydrodistention done on 5/21 to confirm but he is positive I have Interstitial Cystitis :( I guess its good I know whats wrong now.

I'm so sorry to hear that, but I'm glad you finally have a diagnosis. I hope you find a treatment, whether medical or dietary, that helps give you some relief.

Have any of you done the Richard Petty driving experience? The one I am looking at is the Rookie experience. Hubby is a big Nascar fan.

We haven't, but DH wants to take DS to just watch the cars on the track this trip. DH doesn't want to drive a car - crazy, I know! :scared1:

Thanks for all the nice replies! It is official I moved our trip from Thanksgiving Week to the 7th-15th instead!!! :goodvibes

I think you'll be very happy! :goodvibes

I will be taking my mom to WDW from November 5-November 12. It will be her first time in 21 years, so I am sooo excited for her. We will be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. Can't wait!:yay:

Welcome! :cheer2:

OMG, my "can't make up his mind DH just added ANOTHER day onto our trip!!

We will now be leaving for Disney on Nov 2nd and we will be hitting both MNSSHP & MVMCP!!:woohoo:

That's awesome!! I'm so jealous! :thumbsup2

Last time, we went to MK that morning, had breakfast at CRT, then went back to the resort around noon, had lunch, took a nap, and went back to MK around 4pm.

THIS year, I think I'm going to let DH take the kids to the hotel pool while I hit DTD (and maybe take a DVC tour...shhh! ;)). Then lunch, naps, and head to MK around 4pm. Last time we stayed til midnight... we watched the fireworks and the 2nd parade, then took our time leaving and stopped in a few shops. It was our last night at Disney so I wanted to make that night last as long as possible!

You know...
I just want to thank all of you for keeping this thread so lively. My ticker started at 500 days. Look at it now! More than halfway done! And the wait has been more pleasant because of Disers like YOU!
THANK YOU!

November 2012, we're on our way!!!

I couldn't agree more!! :goodvibes

:hug:Im glad. Its helped me pass the time too even though I have had ALOT going on in real life :headache:

And sometimes it's a welcome distraction from real life. ;)

When DH and I went in 07 we hit AK at rope drop and was done around 2. We went back to the resort and rested a bit and then hit the party about 5. We had adrs at Tonys for 630 ish and main street was so crowded we hit the rides and walked on to practically everything!!

Are you in Baton Rouge? I'm from Central!

Have ya'll seem this?

I do hope it is something that can be resolved quickly.

Crossing my fingers!

We have never been to interested in tours and things. But for this trip I have been looking at what Disney has to offer outside of the parks.

I'm looking forward to doing some tours when the kids get a little older. I may send DH on the Steam Train tour this trip.

Looks great! I would defintely use their planners!! Enjoy the luxury! :cloud9:

Your list looks good. :thumbsup2 I have heard awesome things about the CL planners. Maybe you should give them a shot.

I used the CL planners in 2010 when we stayed CL at the Poly. I have never used WL ones but the Poly ones were wonderful!

Aren't all the "planners" actually in the Poly or something like that. Each resort has their own on site staff for needs during your stay, but at this stage, they are all central, or so I was told previously

I wanted to do the Wild Afrika Trek BUT it was gonna interfere with my Tusker House breakfast ressie soooooo I couldnt do it last trip. :lmao: This trip, we ill have everyone with us and THATS ALOT OF $$$$$ I am not sure if we could afford it this time.... maybe another DH and I solo trip is in order :rotfl:

Do you remember how much it cost?

We generally rope drop MK on that day adn stay till about noon. It istypically dead on MVMCP mornings. We get in all of the headliners, Splash, thunder, space, ect and anything else we want to do, and then head back to the resort for lunch and a nap. We hit the park about 4 for the party and stay until closing. That way, we don't feel deprived if we don't make it onto a lot of rides during the party itself.

This sounds like a good plan. We may borrow it. :thumbsup2

I never thought to bring a pop up hamper! What a great ! I'll have to add that to the list of what to bring. Thanks :thumbsup2

This is something that works great for us as well. Mine folds flat and goes in the suitcase without any problems.

Not yet, but I have called Disney about the price a while ago. I don't remember the exact price per person but I believe it's in the mid to high $50 range.

Its $59.00 a person. But it sounds like it is well worth it.

We did Pirates and Pals in 2010 and we really enjoyed it. It is basically a snack buffet on the dock at the contemporary with a Captian hook and Smee meet and greet. You just helped to make up my mind on this.

Maybe your DH could do a ride along.

And this will happen before you know it. :goodvibes

You know I can only imagine..... what it is going to be like as our trips get close enough for us to start packing! :lmao:

This thread is going to go nuts. :rotfl:

we have finally decided on where to stay.. after debating about WL and a moderate.. we finally decided on POFQ:goodvibes.. my inlaws have stayed there a few years ago and really enjoyed it and my DS saw the pool and was sold.. now, I am curious as to if there is certain sections/rooms etc that are more preferable... we would like a riverfront room that much i know..

after seeing everyone comments on the pirate/pals tour.. I checked it out and I think we are going to do that too.. :)

We did POFQ in 2009, and then WL in 2010, and we are going back to WL in 2012. We enjoyed both immensely, but I enjoy watching fireworks from the hotel if we get the right room, so WL was the place for me this trip

In terms of rooms for POFQ, if you really want a relaxing stay, go for building #7, river view. It is the "farthest" building from the depot, main lobby, etc, and outside of those staying in that building, not many others come by, and it is so peaceful and serene at sunrise and sunset with the river view. When I say "farthest" it is actually still only a couple of minutes walk to everything in the main area.

Yes it is! ITs already jumped like 4 pagess from last night! I was thinking I should open another thread maybe next week BUT they way its moving it may need to happen in the next few day!:woohoo: I havent even finished my planning journals yet! Guess I better get moving!

I dont know much about POFQ as we just drove through it to get to POR on the bus BUT its beautiful :cloud9: The pool isnt our taste so we wont be staying there:headache: DH has a thing about pools at Disney-no characters ( well in POFQ's case the dragon) but its ok, he pays for the trips so I have to atleast give him that much. There is one other place we cant stay at off the top of my head. Its like the Boardwalk I think. You slide through a clown-he wont do THAT :lmao: and values are out. so it doesnt leave too many mods or deluxes  Oh well what is a girl to do.

Smileybug~ I think it was like $189 per person if I can remember correctly. There was a whole thread about it http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2623288&highlight=wild+africa+trek

So this is a little off topic, but does anyone know if they do the pirates and pals firework cruise on party nights? Out first night down is a party night and I thought that might be something fun to do since we are not going to a park that day. We were planning on just watching from the Poly beach, but all this talk about it makes me want to go. :dance3:

I called and that is exactly what I was quoted. It looks like alot of fun. Hubby and I have some decision making to do. We can't do everything the budget just won't allow.

Wow....I just realized what page we are on. I guess we all better get ready for a new home. :goodvibes

I understand that! I wish I had the time and money to do more. I wanted to make this trip the best one yet and we have a packed schedule already so adding more would make it too rushed I think.:headache:
